  • After 5 days of disruption and cancelled passenger trains between Inverness and Wick due to snow drifts on the line, Network Rail deployed two class 37s with Independent ZZA snow ploughs to clear the line.
Direct Rail Services 37419 and 37423 sandwiched between the ploughs pass Dingwall heading north in daylight hours and returned early evening in the dark. This is the first time I have ever seen these ploughs move and I believe it's the first time in over 10 years they have been north of Inverness.
Filmed at Dingwall station, this was quite a sight to behold.

Love those class 37s with the snow plows! Never see them moving where I live only in the sidings so it’s nice to see them out and about. Awesome video 😀

Worked the ploughs once in the early '80s. You can see very little, only about 6" of the windscreen where you can see along the side of the plough.

I'm curious, why have the two 37's each with its own plough instead of just one 37 with a plough on each end

I suspect it's for power. When you're running at a snow drift you need plenty of muscle lol

@2:01 can someone please tell me... why do the snowploughs have doors? What's on the inside?

Well the video has over 4000 views, over 70 likes and several positive comments so i don't think many people share your opinion. Also you have 3 videos with 7 subscribers, so i wouldn't say you're in any position to be giving me advice on how to make videos. In my bio it says i am not a professional video maker, i do this for fun. But you have contributed to my views by looking at this video so that i thank you for 🖕
