Giant Trident Repot - Greenwood Bonsai
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- In this video Corin repots a very large trident maple bonsai (Acer buergerianum). The tree had been growing in a training pot for a number of years and the apex has been allowed to get dominant over the lower branches.
By repotting the tree we are able to begin its journey back to a top specimen bonsai.

"I always say I'm not gonna trim it much, then you see branches flying........ coming off of it!" Love this dude.

Im sure this tree gonna be amazing
Great work , like the reggae vibe😉👍🏼🌳
"A bit of Akadama... followed by... a bit of tree!"... Just a bit of tree Corin... haha.
Oh yeah 😍💚 great work as always Corin, thank you 🪴
I never fully appreciated how much difference the pots make until you did the video showing how you choose the right pot now I watch for this in every video and this is another prime example of the difference it makes.
You were not joking! I thought my tridents were on the large size, but this is something different!
Man I love the reggae vibes while you do work 🤘🏻🔥
Another really interesting video. I really enjoy your choice of music too. Nice to hear something a little different!
Enjoyed that. Educational as well as entertaining. Must drop over to your nursery again soon.
What a whopper. Lovely tree that looks great in the replacement pot.
Thank you Corin. Love that maple.
Glad you changed the front facing…looks much better. It’s an awesome looking tree. Can’t wait for the follow up 👍🏻🌲
Thanks again for another interesting video. Looking forward to its journey.
Always very interesting and informative to watch, very pleasantly presented 😀 A big thanks for all your efforts in providing these videos.
Absolutely stunning Corin! You’re a true master of your craft. I’m hoping to get down and see some of the trees in person this summer. Thank you!
Great video
The way you operate is truly inspiring .
Another great video thanks for sharing your work with us 👍👍🇵🇷
WOWSER!!! What a fabulous tree!, Hope to see it again when in full leaf! Great clean up and repot Corin 👍😎
This giant maple is fantastic and you did a great job! Very compliments 👏👏👏👏
Thanks Corin for another informative video, keep them coming. 👍
Fantastic tree and a tree of real beauty , must be naustalgic for you working on a tree as this sold by your father . Love to see how you make the choices on trimming branches and carving, looking forward to see how this tree develops !
Defo enhoying the better quality
The tree has a nice movement trunk tapered absolutely beautiful. But need to cut down to lowered the apex and make a new one.
Thanks Corin. That tree is one noble beast.
As always a fantastic educational video on such a large specimen looks totally transformed I bet that’s going to look stunning in the future 😜
Gorgeous tree & I love that blue pot! Great trimming as always Corin 👊🏼
Would you ever consider filling the hollow, after you hollowed it out, with epoxy or cement then trying to get the tree to heal over the wound? Thanks, and keep the videos coming!
What a tree mate, it had its faults for sure but I feel like they help it to look unique. Wish we could have seen a pic of it in leaf
Wow brilliant as usual.
Un gran árbol y un buen trabajo
Always interresting video.
You are a true artist. Love your tutorials. 😊😊😊
Love this tree. It is a beauty. Mouthwatering. Such a big tree and you are working on your own. I would need my whole family to repot it. Love this video. 👍👍.
Thanks mate your the best great tree 😁
Thank is awesome. Awesome tree.
Great video love that tree 👍
As always a great video. Fingers crossed it has a full recovery after it’s op by doctor Corin!
music litter less loud would be nice! Great tree great work!
very nice, bet this will be an amazing tree again in a few years time in your very capable hands. I notice the old soil looks like it may have been compost, if so I suspect that could have led to some branch die back if the roots feeding those branches died from lack of oxygen if that soil got clogged up.
lovely tree mind you, will be great to see it in the future.
A fantastic and very informative video as usual Corin 👌
Thanks Corin.
You are amazing corry!
Hi, could you do a video on a Chinese pepper bonsai? Particularly pruning/care and wiring if possible? Thank you.
First I was like "bru how can you remove 2/3 of all roots" but then after the second trim it made much more sense😄😅
I think I’d consider reducing the top of that tree considerably. It would set it back but I think the tree would be better in the long run. Would you do that if it was your own Corin?
No, I would do it in stages like have done. More to be taken out next year, depending on how lower branches come back.
Hi Corin around Nottinghamshire we are still having frosts if you don’t have cold glasshouse what do you do after a repot please
Thanks much. Fun
Music to loud! Your advice and knowledge is enough for me. I feel sometimes less is more.
it is beautiful :)
How much would a tree like that be worth
With akadama prices as they are, would you recommend dimaceous earth for trees still in training?
What type was the original soil there ?
Por favor, sería posible traducción al español ?
Why do trees lose branches? It would be extremely sad for myself loosing some branches.
Because they are living things, and sometimes life goes wrong. Coupled with environment, climate, care and time.

Gorgeous tree! Looks like you’ve got to get one of the smaller one-handed RYOBI/etc reciprocating saws, though! One-handing that full-size one looked a bit unwieldy 😅
.No, its fine does a great job
What was the mini chain saw ? I need to buy one, I can't seem to find it.
@@brianjanku4549 there's a bunch, made by pretty much every major brand. in the US some are 18v and some are also available on 12v lines like Milwaukee's. There are chain saws and also reciprocating utility saws ("sawzalls" or "hackzalls"). I've also seen them called hatchets, though a handheld battery saw is a pretty far cry from a real hatchet.
💪
Great video but I wish there was more variety in the music. Just doesn’t really fit to me.
🤩😍🥰
👍👌👌👌🍎
😲🤐
Cool tree and video but bad choice of music...good lord.
