Such awesome photographs, Tony captured some beautiful moments in time! He is missed by us all.
Well said
Tuyệt vời ❤❤❤❤
Those Photographs were just so beautiful, both the black and white and color was stunning thank you so much for collecting his photos, steve.
Vet tape is for animals, it sticks to itself but not to hair/fur. Tony had encouraged me to have a go at a fusion project so I had to buy some, but can also be used under wire to get extreme bends - boom ! I loved him saying that, not an expression usually used for bonsai.
I was lucky to meet him at his extravaganza and so many other you- tubers, Adam, notion bonsai, Xavior, expressions of grace, Jason Hanrahan Alex another fan and many more, it was a lovely, special, gathering. And I think he told us how you had inspired him that day.
A very special man, uniting bonsai community around the world. Keep growing.xx
I often commented on his vids and he always responded. I really enjoyed his lil laugh at himself when he messed up. Thanks for sharing some of his images, I did not know that side of him.
Thank you Dave. What a beautiful picture about an unforgettable man. 🙏❤️
Very nice words for Tony. Thank you.
Dave wonderful tribute to Tony. Tony’s was one of the first channels I found. He was inspiring to many of us, and will be missed.
Nice little eulogy on Tony. My he rest in peace. My condolensces to his family.
Dave, I am sending my condolences. Tony’s memory lives on through the stories you shared. From what I can tell, he was an amazing photographer.
I always knew the hibiscus would be happy and healthy in your care. Her blooms are so beautiful! ❤
Great results with the maple and even better words for Tony and his legacy. He definitely used to talk about you a few times to me when we chatted. He will be missed. Thanks to you continuing contribution to this great community dave.
He was a special guy. 🥰 Touching words, cheers.
❤
Thant was real nice Dave. I was and am a big fan of Tony. He made my day in every one of his videos.
Truly beautiful tribute to Tony. I started watching him not long after he started his bonsai UA-cam, as I was starting myself and was looking for guidance. There were so many weekend mornings I’d have my cup of coffee and watch him for inspiration - sitting on the edge of my seat holding my breath as he did his bending! He had such a great eye for trees and in messaging him he showed me his photography, which is magnificent. He definitely was able to use his photographic composition skill in guiding his bonsai tree composition- a true artist. So brave, so funny, so conscientious, a true delightful person. I am so happy to have found your channel through him! Rest in piece Tony.
😢Tony was one of the inspirations for my recent journey. I started just a year ago.
Thank you for your memories of our creative, talented, bold and irascible Tony. He provided all of us with laughter and the courage to be mavericks in our own regard. He will be sorely missed.
The "vet tape" he used was first used (years ago) by veterinarians, especially for horses. It is elastic and sticks to itself and the animals couldn't rub it off. It provides cushion without needing to be taped, tied or wired. Some enterprising soul thought it would be nice to wrap human plaster casts to protect the plaster. Then someone decided it should be colored. It's cheaper and easier to use than raffia and provides the same protection. Now it's marketed as "Coban" and used in wound centers. And it's expensive for humans. Still cheap at farm supply stores.
Lovely tribute to Tony. He deserves every bit of this …. and more!
A beautiful, heartfelt tribute to an amazing soul, thanks Dave.
My friend and I were blessed to spend a few hours with him at his Extravaganza and will treasure some of his trees I brought home.
God Bless Tony, you'll be greatly missed ❤
That was a beautiful tribute to a man who inspired us to try anything and everything. His crazy bends, trees he used that 'can't' be used as Bonsai, and his infectious good humour will live on in our hearts, and for those of you lucky enough to have one, his trees.
He was an inspiration to us all. 🇦🇺
This is Pankaj from India. I have go through lots of videos of Mr. Tony i love hearing him he was great guy. I feel its huge loss for the bonsai community. I like to share my deepest condolences to his family and freinds.
🕉 om Shanti 🕉
Beautiful tribute, everyone loved Tony ❤
What a great tribute. I, like you and so many others, will miss him. I completely forgot his talent in photography. Thanks for reminding me. Each and every day, I keep scrolling through the posts of the bonsai family, looking for a new one from Tony. Sadly, there will be no more. Thank you and Rest In Peace, Tony. I will miss your talent and humor. Thank you Dave for sharing your memories.
Beautiful kind words from a good friend! Tony will continue to live in all of our hearts!
Thanks for keeping Tony alive through his trees. Tonys niece (my daughter Olivia) loves wearing your t-shirt now too! X x Jen
Great tribute, RIP Tony.
Great tribute to such a great guy. I hope we all have the will and spirit to push on to the last day as tony did. To face what he had gone through and the fight to push on was remarkable. Hell never be forgotten. 🦴👁🔛
Bonsai for all and my friend forever thanks DAVID NICE video too late great Tony
Thanks for showing us Tony’s photography. They were spectacular, he was passionate obviously with everything he did. What a gem 💎 beautiful tribute. Thankyou
Thank you, Dave for such a warm and generous tribute to the great Lancashire Lad, Tony H and I can see how your own generosity of spirit inspired him to get started on his UA-cam Journey.
I am also convinced that the closing to the nature and his tree prolonged his life and made it better both physical and mental.
When I got visual impairment 12 years a go I spent many hours daily in a favorite part off an forest.
It healed me (not the eyes tho but the rest of the trauma) the Japanese call this method for being calm and relaxing with the forest and the trees with all your senses for “shinrin yoku”.
A method brought to life in the 80s when young people got into big cities with all the stress and pressure modern life gives in too much doses. The rate of young died of heart attacks even if they was young and fitt. The explanation to it was stress and lost of connection with nature and it’s healing powers.
Even clinic test showed prowess of lower heart rate and better blood pressure.
To make people out they invented the name shinrin yoku (forest bath) and even doctors could write out recipie on it. We need (apparently) an authorian person and a fansy to change.
Well the death rates got lowered in the 80s hightech and modern driven country.
Beautiful Dave. I miss Tony so much. I’m Fortunate to have some trees from some seeds and acorns he sent me. Yes, an awesome photographer as well. Sleep tight buddy 😢
What a wonderful tribute to an amazing man. I hadn’t been watching Tony for long but I was impressed with his amazing attitude and strength. ❤❤😢😢😢😢
Dave
I’ll start with what an inspiration it is to you watch your videos; you are an artist and I truly enjoy your work.
I’ve only been a UA-cam follower for the past 3 months, and I was heartbroken to hear of Tony’s passing. I wish….I wish I had started following him earlier and had told him how much I loved his content….he was always making extreme and passionate decisions and was often rewarded with wonderful results. Thank you for your beautiful heartfelt memorial. We’ll stated and we’ll deserved! Thank you!
Thanks John, he certainly will be missed.
Hi Dave. Thanks for your kind words for Tony. I watched all your videos with him. Especially your cold frame ones. They were great. Good memories. Cheers pal, much appreciated 👍
What absolutely amazing photography!!!
I've actually never seen these before, but those are the pictures I strive to capture.

That twin trunk is gonna be phenomenal! I hope the second one roots out for ya.
Appreciate the good words on Tony, brother.

Servus Tony, thanks for sharing.
Great tribute to Tony ❤ miss him so much. What an absolutely legend he was. Some his pictures made me shiver almost like when he bendt some of his trees 😂 rest in peace Tony. You really went out with a BOOM
Sometimes it is a hit or miss on grafting, but, you have great success with your green thumb.
Thanks dave that was a beautiful tribute to him. I really did liked Tony's bonsai Channel he had some amazing hawthorn's. He called vet tape because was a veteran medic on the battle field. He said it was great on preventing moisture coming in, but allowing the tree to breathe and being able to grow without constricting the tree. He did mentioned he gets a endless supply from the V.A.
Tony gave us a smile up to very end that took alot of guts to do that. I think he did that because he didn't want any sad faces. He well be dearly missed.
Dave, thankyou for what you do but especially for this video. Terry Virta
Thanks for saying so Terry.
Dave what a wonderful tribute to Tony, I really believe his legacy will inspire for years to come, he has been on my mind all week whilst I have been tending my trees. Tony was full of joy and gave us all something of himself in each video. You yourself do the same Dave so thank you 🙏 take care buddy
Thanks Gary
Hey, Dave, love the channel Wanted to offer a little info on airlayers. The roots continue to support the tree above the airlayer through the xylem (wood) of the tree. The branches/leaves above the airlayer support the callous and root production. The branch below the air layer supports the old roots, as all energy produced above the air layer is cut off from the old roots - that upper energy is trapped and pools up at the termination point in the phloem and cambium at the air layer. Sorry to nitpick, but understanding the physiology of the air layer process is really helpful for applying the technique properly. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for that info. Excellent knowledge to soak up. I love it!
I also need to mention, thanks for sharing your fond memories of Tony. One of his best character traits was humility, always willing to learn from others. Thanks Dave, for sharing your tips and tricks while also keeping a lighthearted approach. ❤
Thanks a lot for your Tony tribute Dave 💙 im sure hes looking down on us all through hs trees. Love from Jen (Tonys sister)
Thanks Jen. I think about him often.
Lovely words Dave ❤️

As skilled as Tony was with his bonsai, he was even more skilled with a camera.
For sure!! Quite talented!
To be honest, Tony was also an incredible presenter - just look at his videos - a full stream of consciousness with humour and easy style hardly without any editing. I knew little about bonsai until I fell upon his channel and to be honest, I enjoyed his videos for his style and easy to comprehend explanations - I could watch him do a talk on watching paint dry and wouldn't get bored and come away with a smile !
Well said, Dave, well said.
Lovely tribute. I had somehow never seen Tony’s photography before. Do you know if his family sells prints of his work? I’d love to buy some.
You can download a PDF file of all he's pictures for free. You just have to print them off. Not sure how to do it though. Others have done it though. I think bonsai Cornwall knows what to do. He would love that . Cheers Rick
Vet tape - yes, short for veterinarian
When I tried airlayering, the whole tree died
Sorry to hear that. I’ve not lost the air layer.
its called compression tape in my area ...
Absolutely Brilliant tribute to Tony Dave, you had me in tears mate. I never met Tony in person however i was a loyal follower from the beggining, i had so many humorous chats with him and he would always reply to comments in a way that made me laugh, i even requested he try doing an Australian accent and he did..(not very well!!) I feel you deserve THANKS for inspiring Tony to start his channel, so THANKYOU. I have been subscribed to your channel for a long time and will now start to catch up on all your content, currently watching pt 1 of your new solar efficient green house... wow thats a really deep pit you've dug yourself into there Dave.. great job. Looking forward to your future adventures.
I noticed some natural stone pots in your collection, did you make them? I make natural stone bonsai pots and sell them though an online store (Bonsai.En) here in Australia. Would be very interested to see your collection. Kindest regards
