I call it that for me because its the never ending pot of grief for me. I would smoke for the rest of my life, every second that passes if I could do that and be funtional and healthy. Im in a constant state of grief

It can be a huge help and a hindrance. When your walking through snow, snowshoes help. And we are so grateful for such equipment when we need it because it eases the journeys pain and allows us to progress. But when you get above the snowline and the snow is less deep or even nonexistent, then wearing those same snowshoes, that equipment which helped you and took you up the mountain all that time, might begin to feel like a hindrance as it is preventing you from feeling the grass under your feet. To see the grass and feel the sun on your face yet be to attached to your snow shoes to take them off and enjoy it? That's a trip. To get to that level where we don't need 'stuff' to protect us anymore, 'stuff' to carry us any further up that mountain, and can just sit and be at peace with everything just as it is. No equipment. No drugs. Nothing. That. That would be a fine thing. I hope one day I will be able to truly be content just sitting with myself. That one day I won't need these tools which can be crutches to lean on. Until then I'll just keep on at letting go. Letting go and identifying with that part of me which is undisturbed, loving and peaceful. In time, and if it serves us, we can get there, to stand again with the grass between our toes, unfettered, untethered and free.

Great comment. I relate to all of it, and couldn't have said it better myself.

I started smoking at 19… and for the first time in my Life I was able to Hear rational Thoughts without the rest of the crap. I soon recognized that when I was upset about something and smoked… I was able to work through other perspectives without the emotion attached.
I self medicated for a while… the one time I quit when I wasn’t pregnant I was becoming an alcoholic 😳 that was not a good look 😣 “pot head” suits me better 😅🙏 I now recognize it as a part of my lifestyle 🥰 as I have been evolving, I have used less 💜 don’t feel the “need” as often.
I was attaching to the thought that I shouldn’t be “needing” it at all… but not really wanting to attach to it. I don’t truly judge myself for it.
Ram Dass, your transparency about your human experience is greatly Loved and Honored 💜 it has been so Enlightening and I am so grateful that you are Who you are 🙏💜🌈

Same smoking was a monumental stepping point in my spiritual walk. Now a few years later I feel like it's starting to hold me back, which isn't good or bad, just is. I'm glad Im becoming more peaceful sitting in sober meditative mind

As Bob Marley is quoted saying . . .
    "When you smoke the Herb,
    It reveals yourself to yourself."
Or something along those lines! 😅

Pot helps me quite my mind, eventually i’ll learn to not use it as a crutch but for now it’s keeping me motivated on my journey.

Im going to get high on grass because we are legal here in Mass and even in treatment centers its a hell of alot better than dope, smack, or cooking fentynol strips and Ram if you yourself and not just your healing spirit was going on in this here epidemic where I see kids get off the bus run upstairs cop dope and walk by the sight of a youngster, im talking middleschool hittin his friend then himself, Id like to say to those kids what happened to grass man your not even 12 man. I think Terrance Mikenna would be thinking in the 2ays upon how im thinking.
