This is one of the absolute best decluttering videos I’ve ever watched. Thank you for inspiring me to get busy. I’m 71 years old and don’t have time to look anything less than fabulous!
Hi Patsy! And your comment must be one of the absolute best I have ever received! So glad you think the video is helpful Thank you for watching and for Subscribing! xx C
This is a fantastic video. So many declutter videos I've come across are aimed at younger people. This is a video by an adult, for adults who want a simple declutter method.
I love, love, love this idea! My closet I call the “final frontier”…everything else has been decluttered. One idea I did try with some “maybe” clothes, was to purposely wear them again. Before the day was over i definitely remembered why I never wore the item. I’m going to take another try with your method . Thank you ✨
Agreed. Such a great video to start the year off. I love gifting old clothes to others in need. It creates a positive flow of energy when our wardrobes can breathe and we don't spend all our energy on cluttered things. We need less.. and more quality. ✨💎 Thanks for the inspiration Christie. 👏🏻
I declutter my kitchen by putting EVERYTHING except definite, everyday used items, in boxes in the basement. When I need something from one of the boxes, it remains in my kitchen. At the end of the year all the stuff left in the boxes goes to goodwill and I have only what I use in the kitchen. This method gives you an instant decluttered kitchen and there are no hard decisions to make.
Hi Melanie! Love this method. I am so glad it is helpful for even the kitchen! Thank you for watching, for taking the time to comment and for Subscribing! xx C
Thanks for the helpful process. For myself, I would add a fourth category: "Alterations" because many things in my closet need some alterations and I don't wear them because they are not altered so the sleeves are a bit too long, the waistline too loose, etc. You gave me some ideas for cleaning my closet soon.
I never thought to take out my favorite pieces first. That's not only a great way to see what I might need, but should help me decide my style and what looks best on me. I've spent too much money on clothing that looks good on influencers or models who look nothing like me.
Doesn't this make so much sense and yet...we never thought of it! I just found her channel a couple of days ago and I'm really impressed with her content.
Hi Christie! This sounds like a nice straightforward way to clear the clutter from ones closet! I did a ruthless purging when we moved a couple of years ago and now wish I kept a few pieces. We just moved again last week so it's been a busy few weeks. That's where I've been so catching up on videos now! Nice to see you again!! xx
Hi Celia! I have missed you! Moving is one of the hardest jobs - physically and emotionally. So glad it is behind you. I am glad you found this methodology for decluttering to be straightforward. It is the best way I have ever used. Even my husband has become a proponent of this method! Hope your life settles down nicely. xx C
The Tricky Stuff served as the perfect New Year's Eve Outfit. I plan to wear it next New Year's Eve with different people & hopefully at events in between. Then I will be happy to release...
Oh wow, thank you so much for this! I just did something similar recently by dividing my items into "keep", "maybe" and "nah" but I really like the extra nuance you add with rejects and taking notes. Thank you!
I really like listening to your video’s 👍I like your style as a older mature woman 😇 This my first time listening. And I will be looking for other’s videos you have like that clothes 🤔 Help Me Lord🤗God Bless you & your family & keep making more videos please🙌🏽
I cannot wait for my 3-day no four day weekend I have coming up I'm going to do this and then I'm going to do it with my shoes and maybe get to my jewelry. Thank you so much! Just found your site 2 days ago. Love your content.
Wow! This was sooo helpful. If you can believe it, I’ve been decluttering my closets for two years. Yes, I have that many clothes. Actually, I have two walk in closets. But, I got to the point of ridiculousness, so I’ve been s l ow l y getting rid of clothing items. Currently, I’m stuck at #5 of your suggestions. Great video!
A lot of charity shops, Goodwill, Sally Ann, etc. do not have storage space for clothes that are off-season. Please check with your shop whether they can take, for example, summer clothes in winter. Just like you don’t have room to store them, maybe they don’t either.
Thank you for your very useful comment. I will be certain to remind of this thoughtful consideration in future videos. Thank you for your time in watching and for kindly Subscribing! xx C
Hello Medora! I don't have enough closet space for more than one season at a time. Within my closet I curate an area for blouses, pants, blazers and dresses.( I do not hang my sweaters so they are folded on a shelf.) Then within each category I color coordinate (whites, creams, navy, black, brown, grey, colors). I hope this is helpful. Thank you for watching and for Subscribing! See you Saturday! xx C
Great approach. I don’t get the appeal of the razor thin velvet hangars. They put horrible creases in the shoulders of your clothes. Sure they are a space saver and your clothes don’t slip off the hanger, but only at the cost of disfiguring your clothes. I guess that’s one way to declutter; damage your clothes yourself then throw them away because they are now unwearable.
"Simplifying my life" is my mantra for 2024. Do you have a similar wish? Please let me know if you find this approach to be useful in your life.
This method sounds so logical and doable!!! Thank you for the video!!

I learned that approach from the Minimal Mom here on UA-cam and it truly is a great way to only keep what ya really use!

How do you categorize you closet? Is it by season or by object, (blouses, pants, sweaters)?
Hello Medora! I don't have enough closet space for more than one season at a time. Oh no! I find the thin velvet hangers to be the only ones that don’t damage my clothing!
