I was nervous about a networking event and kept leaving for some air. I was practicing mannerisms for weeks so I can make a solid introduction. My stomach was in knots when I arrived. I was so glad I stuck it out when an acquaintance checked on me. I was able to connect with a higher up before I started my new job.
