That young lady has real vision: She sees the potential in the cars, not their faults. That's a really good attitude to have in life. Thanks for sharing that special moment with us. 🙂👍
She knows it's going to be a labour of love but it will be worth it in the end. The poor car has been rescued, might take a little while to finish though! She's got a lot of learning to do! 😂
Being relatively simple mechanically and with every part available and fairly affordable, including body panels, these cars make great restoration projects, and the result is a decent, practical and attractive retro-styled little car which can be kept going virtually indefinitely. They even make good investments, selling for very good prices
Just be careful with the quality of new parts: I prefer to sometimes source good 2nd hand parts. Some parts advertised as compatible arn't: e,g. wiper arm wheel boxes where the no. of teeth on the new one is different to the originals. Also some chrome parts don't stay rust free for many years: clean up the original one as patina is good!
Going by the squared-off seat cushions and the chrome trim around the glovebox openings, 834 KNM looks to be a 1960-62 MM. Okay, that's the technical/nerdy stuff out of the way! Now a thank you for posting this - Laura's total joy when she first sighted her Traveller was just wonderful. Looking forward to the restoration updates. What a lucky girl she is to have not only her dream car, but such kind and decent parents.
Great stuff, dad has a Moggy Traveller and we've a few oldies ourselves, my 12yr-old son is a big big fan of anything old like this, good luck with the rebuild 👍👍👍👍
Little Laura's face was a picture, what a wonderful Suprise. I must confess I did a few whoops myself when I purchased my Traveller in December 2019. Aged 65, I've got one at long last.😃 Looking forward to your films. Liked and subscribed.👍 Kind regards Jonnie.
Wow this is fabulous the Morris minor traveller is my favourite car also , what a lovely surprise for her , fabulous am going to follow all the restoration story on these cars , wonderful 👍👍
Wonderful !!!! Hope you know you are in for plenty of "Blood, Sweat and Tears"----but lots of fun too, ask me how I know. Best of luck and kind regards from an old Yorkshire "geezer" in Ireland.
Great raw video, have you ever considered editing? ( seriously, once you have your trilogy of episodes on this project?) I can do this, for next to nothing.
It's a lovely and romantic idea but do you really want your most cherished to be an inexperienced driver rattling around in a car that was built half a century before NCAP safety was introduced to keep motorists safe in an accident?
Parenting done right!
100%!
Now that’s what you call a barn find👍
Think a few sheep had been trying to drive the second one 😂

We think it's been there for 30 years! Poor thing stuck in the hay shed all that time!
Laura is a very lucky girl, 2 talented parents and her future first car, something she will always treasure

It seems that all these "abandoned" morris minors are missing the right headlight. Not just these 2, but mine also
This is fabulous, I love a barn find or two. Subscribed
Oh you'll be glad you subscribed... Lots of lovely projects coming up in the future 😁
@@WhitelandRestorations excellent, that sounds good, I have a classic myself but not a morris. Would love to drive one though.
You are not afraid of cars with "a little work".

Don't worry, it's going to be a show car and she will be more experienced than most come test day! 👍
