Way back in the 90's, I had an Armadillo Cascade Condo. It had a screen room and I loved it. This is the first tent that comes close to that setup. Great review.
Dude this is the best review! Little man is awesome. I'm looking to get the Coleman skydome 8 person tent for a camping trip I'm planning for my kiddos.
How is the ventilation in this tent? It looks like it wouldn't get much breeze if the rain fly is on - but I love the screen room option and am considering buying the 6 person version!
More power to ya, Dino! You have extreme patience. Thanks for the review. Just bought the tent in 6-person size, I don't have a Riley. Glad to know the screen room will stay dry. I was able to set up by myself, but the clips were very taught and hard to stretch to reach the poles. Did you stake the tent before attaching the clips or stake after attaching tent to poles? Just worried about stretching to the point of tearing. Mine is about to get the rain test now. Happy Camping!
Thinking of buying this tent. How low does the rain fly go towards the ground? I camp out in NY I def need a rain fly that covers a large amount of the tent
@@dinoreviews7331 I wanted to see if this particular tent had been upgraded yet. I did see a woman and her husband put up the tent in another yt video, but they ended up buying the one that doesn't have the option to enclose the screen room, like you have shown in this video. Also, just so you know, you're the *FIRST* person I've come across that shows this tent to have a screen door on the tent door. I can't tell in the others I've seen. So, thank you for that. Also, does both the screen room doors and the camping tent door have 2 zippers to enclose the doors? As someone wanting to travel solo, I'd want the double zippers option. I'm looking at the Nemo tent and it's a great debate between that and this tent. With this tent, your stuff can stay enclosed, without having to worry about opening a back door area and letting mosquitos in. And I don't think the Nemo tent has mesh doors if you wanted the doors enclosed, but screens up. :( Looks like with your tent, Coleman got rid of the holes in the lower corners of the screen room. Where the tent and screen room connect. One on each side, near the bottom. Was too open and material didn't overlap on the woman's Coleman tent, to prevent bugs from getting in. Someone said you can ducktape the holes shut, if you didn't want to run electric into the tent. I think if they overlapped the material, like how your kid had to really pull the top tarp to get under, that would work best, to cover the holes, while still allowing others the option to run an electrical line, if they preferred. Thank you for taking the time to review this tent. Still on the fence though about the Nemo or this Coleman tent. Another person's video showed this exact tent, but they were weatherizing it (spraying rain repellent on the tent) to allow dry in the sun, before setting out to camp. I think that's the only thing I dislike about this Coleman tent. Though the Nemo doesn't have to be weatherized, the tent doesn't have a built in screen area, but I could always find an alternative means to enclose that area so I could sit straight up. But I really like how the screen room encloses on the Coleman. Ugh. Decisions, decisions. Lol. Again, thank you for this review. ✨️👍✌️✨️
Thanks for the review! Did you find that the tent got hot with there being no windows in the main interior? I find it odd that there isn't a zip window on the rear of the tent.
Yes you can, you can see that in the thumbnail photo for the video. You can also take the fly off the whole tent and use the mesh all around to enjoy a panoramic view with no bugs.
@@heidithorp4310Yes! That was my biggest concern. I don't care about how long it takes to set up and take down as one person. As long as I can do this by myself. Another lady said in another video it was pretty challenging to set up, but then again, it was her and her husband setting up the tent. They ended up with the same Coleman tent, prior to Coleman upgrading the patio to zip up. As seen here.
Yes. Tent person counts are based on people laying next to each other, not on spacious air mattresses. 4-6 person tents are really suited to 2 people comfortably. The floor dimensions are the key.
Could not finish watching your video as you spend more time talking to your kid and about other stuff then you do about the tent itself. Call it a camping video not a tent review.

Tarp shouldn't extend from under the tent during rain. It should be folded under the tent floor.

Thank you for the review,I loved it more because it's real life living review. You're son is very animated and will be the most likely to succeed. 👍🏻
Also your son is 100% exactly like my nephew about the same age, you have the patience of a saint 😂 very cute.

That intro was absolutely incredible little man 🙌🏾✨

How was the rain test? Really considering this tent in 6 person for the mrs and i
Riley is adorable! Great video!
Can you also teach us how to fold it back to the original bag? I can’t fit it back in😂
Is it too late to name this channel Riley Reviews? He is the real star! He is hilariously cute.
How well did the covers on screen porched area keep the rain out?
😆
Thank you Rylee.
You made my day..

I'm interested in the height inside the dome to see if standing up is possible?.

Do the windows have curtains for privacy?
Where did you find the coleman skydome with screen room. I have been looking everywhere?
CostCo had them earlier in the year, then they were sold out. Got this tent at Sporting Life.

Can you use an external air pump for the intex air mattress ?
Is there a floor in the screened in section?
Yes
Nice boy, but distracts from the review.
Can you open up the screen room rainfly to enjoy the view with just the mesh?
Yes I believe so

Riley is so precious lol
I want to see you take Riley fishing. Priceless.
Maybe without the kid
Could one person set this tent up?
I just got the tent and was able to set it up by myself. Took longer than 5 min.

No more coffee for Riley

Hi, are you sure this tent is for 8 people?

What power unit did you use? I keep rewinding but I don't see it in the video. Thanks!
I think he said Jackery. I am looking at getting one as well. You can get them for a good price at Harbor Freight and charge them with solar.
could not finish watching it because of...you know what

Nice kid but he ruined the review
Nice kid but it ruined your review
This review would have been very boring without Riley 🤣
I find these mattresses to be very uncomfortable, wife and I sent it back not got an exped 10 so much better
next time try doing a video without the kid's interruptions...not coo;l!
The kid is Irritating really.
I'm sorry to hear that, he's my son. Imagine that 24x7 :)
YOU'RE irritating. 😒
