- What I was up to Monday January 14, 2019. Replacing the neck rail in the dry cow barn, feeding the bale chopper, moving young calves out to the calf barn and a couple other things. Thanks for watching!
Your channel is growing fast because it's good to see a young man with a good work ethic it's also nice to see that it matters the cattle look nice and not so much the equipment that's what needs come first
Instablaster...
You are growing to see a man like you not playing video games and whining about his life, but taking ownership, responsibility, and understanding of working hard to succeed. Finally, a UA-cam channel worth watching. BTW, I am from Western Pennsylvania, so (hint) the "Eagles" shirt is not needed.
I totally agree the newborn calf’s are too cute, thanks to your family they all seem to grow up happy! I love your life and want to thank you for sharing!!
I love the way even though you have so much to do during the day, you take a moment to realize the beauty and cuteness around you! God bless you.
Eric, I love watching you and your dad work together. You look like him and at times I see your walk is like his. First and foremost I'm very happy I found your YT videos. Your a very hard worker. Like it when you find time to shoot a few balls, and magically find something you like to drink. Dew,Pepsi or Chocolate milk. Even coffee with real milk. Stay safe and tell your dad you love him once in a while. Oh he knows it, but tell him anyway. Your admirer from Minneapolis.
Sasha gave one whoof when you asked her how she was doing. that was so cute !!
I just found your channel,ex dairy farmer here, love watching them, good job young man
Thank you
So Beautiful to watch a Father and Son work so well together, fantastic work ethics, solid attitudes, your Videos should used as training for future Farmers, or any body to learn on how to get things done, not only work, and enjoy your self doing it! Good Job and Good Life!......... Thx Big Gill Const. Contractor. So Cal. USA
Your sunrises are beautiful. You are such a positive person very easy to listen to!!
I’m a very recent subscriber and I really enjoy your videos! I’m considering a career in agriculture and I’m finding that your videos are very informative and giving me a clear insight as to what goes on daily at a farm. Animals come first and there’s always something needed to be done.
Thank you for all you do!
I'm glad you are enjoying them!
"It's been a good day". What a great life.....
Great vid nice looking calf's 👍👍👍👍👍👍😀👍😀👍😀👍👍👍
New calves saying hey Eric where’s my milk at? Me is hungry.
You guys work so well together
Great videos
Nice calf barn. Great set up
It is good to see that you all are keeping up on maintenance. Cost a lot less to repair as you go rather than just keep patching it up.
Yes, trying to get better at fixing things the right way
All great videos! Thanks for making and sharing them❗❗❗ 🙂🙂🙂 👍👍👍
Very cool to see how dairy farming works! Thanks for sharing a little bit of what it's like.
Your editing is nice too! Keep it up!
Thanks!
Getting it done
I like your channel 👍
@@10thgenerationdairyman thanks bud, I've been a sub if yours for a couple weeks now.
Just started watching your channel you guys have a very nice clean and smooth running operation
I lik your vids you are a busy young lad keep up the good work.
Hi came across your channel and I can not stop watching. Can you please inform how much milk your farm delivered, how many head you have and can you please do a a drone shot of your farm? respect from Australia
I love to see the calves! ❤
I would also be interested to see your setup for loading out your cull cows. I haul livestock to the sale barns in my area so I always like to see how others do it.
I'll try to do that sometime
Another good video
1,000 subscribers!!! Awesome! (yes, my milk comes in a Pepsi can... one before first feeding at 5 or 6), vids are perfect length, 7-9 min. top fence rail works for a lot of stuff, my babies are lambs...
PATRICIA here... yall have an opening for a calf hugger?? that would be my job-- just give the calves huggs!!!! lol
except a puppy
Wow almost a thousand subscribers great job
Gonna be famous,good one guys
You guys really do a nice job on cleaning and maintaining your cows. Nice farm!!! How well does the de-horning paste work?
Thanks. Works good if you do it soon after birth and you trim away hair.
I don't see you addressing milk production per cow. How do you keep track of which cow is falling off and what the peak is. It would be interesting to see/hear you address this sometime.
I stumbled across your channel and I cant stop watching it's so interesting. I live in Texas near Houston. Have a question do we ever see your Dads face?
hello sir please post the video regarding how you watering the corn crop
Came to your channel from Ben's (Vesser Cattle Company) shout out the other day. I'm curious, what is that mixture/compound you put in the calves stalls when you were prepping them? Looks like it might be chopped up straw and sawdust. Thanks for sharing, we'll be watching more. John
It's just wood shavings. Thanks for watching
I wish I could do good videos like u great job I subscribed 👍🏻👍🏻😁😁
Hi, I see lot of difference in U. S. farming. I am fromi Czech republic, in central Europe. We have cows for diary, and Charolais for meat only - on pastures. Would be possible to show us how is the place sitauted, where are walking lines for cows and so on? I would like to get inspired from your system. It looks simple and working. BtW, I suppose You have black Holstien cows. We have red ones... :)
Great video God bless!
Just found your channel and I got to say that I really enjoy it! You guys have a great looking farm. So how many people work the farm? Thanks.
3 of us full time and about 10-12 part time people helping with milking mainly
Whats the program your using on the computer that helps you keep track of all your stuff? Ive been looking for a good app or program but they all suck, or maybe im not very good with technology lol
That’s a really nice calf barn. How old is it?
It's 6 or 8 years old. Sure beats our old set up!
Good video just started watching your channel
I know I am a bit late to this video but is the dehorning paste good? Pain free (or at least less painful) and effective?
Where about is your farm? It’s well kept things seem to run smooth & good videos. Keep up the good job.

Just stumbled upon your channel and wow it’s awesome! There is a lot to dairy farming weather the job is big or small and you do a phenomenal job capturing that. Just curious what software do you use to edit your videos, I’ve been trying a few just to see what they’re like. Keep up the good work.
Thanks. I'm using imovie for editing

Why do you separate calves and give them individual stalls instead of just putting everyone together
just hit 1000 !!!!!
Do you take the newborns away from their moms right after birth? If not, when? And why do you remove them when you do?
Hey man love the vids i wss wondering what yoy use to compact your bunks
ERIC how does the milk production vary by season? Does it really fall of in the winter ?PEACE
Things have sure changed from the days I was on the dairy farm. We thought we were big time when we got a bulk tank. Stilled carried milk from the cows (Stanton barn) but didn't have to carry the cans anymore. I raise a handful of Holstein steers bottle calves to butchering size and it's getting harder and harder to find a dairy. Their all quitting. Wish I was closer I'd pick up a couple every now and then from you. What do you do with all the bull calves?
Things sure have changed. We take them to auction and sell some to neighbors
Nice, are you guys familiar with Mor-Dale farms near Bethel?
Can't say I know of them. Looked them up they are about 20 minutes from here
What does the term "dry cows" mean? is it these cows do not produce milk?
jasperson1000 not in milk :)
Cattle are herd animals, right? So why keep the calves seperate?
What is the dehorning paste you use?in Ireland we burn them off.we used caustic years ago but its baned now.not a nice experience for the calf but they are over it in a day.
Not sure what all is in it or how it works, but we like it. The calves don't seem to mind it
Wow! I hope you wear a dust mask often?
♥️
Wow your subscriber count jumped I subscribed to you like a few weeks back and you had like 250 subs! Now look at you
Really like the videos!! Do you guys crop farm and if so how much?
250 acres
So wen you put the dehorning past do you leave them locked in the head locker to avoid them scratching and getting past in the eyes or what's the process? I want to get in the dehorning past but I am not sure what's the best way !
I let them out of the headlock. They don't usually rub it off and I've never seen one get it in her eyes. I would highly recommend the paist
@@10thgenerationdairyman okay I've used it in the past but now wen we get the new calf set up we will go paste
@@10thgenerationdairyman also do you use meloxicam or any type of pain med wen you use it? I wouldn't but the girls on the farm are probably going to want to give them something lol witch is understandable I just don't want the pain meds to mask any symptoms...
Great vid I subbed
And at least the calves are housed inside and not in those so called igloos.
Where is your farm located? I’m assuming Pa since you were at the keystone farm show
Yeah Lancaster PA
Gotcha, your not far from me. I’m in elverson, about an hour east of you
I've never tried the paste. Do u have good luck with it? Good vids by the way and hi from mn
Yeah works good as long as you do it in the first few days after birth.
did not understand your sheet for the calves ... is the first column the calves ear tag and the second last column is the parents ear tag ?
Well you got your shout out on" veeser cattle co" channel I like I told you your subs are going up congrats keep up the great videos.
Just saw that! Very nice of him
@@10thgenerationdairyman Ben asked for channels to shout out and i told him about your channel being great 👍
Thank you!
@@10thgenerationdairyman thank Ben from veeser cattle co I want to see you succeed your videos are great
How is the commodity shed built is it steel frame or wood?
It's a wood frame
Otimo video amigo 👏👏
Nice vid i was wondering how are milkprices in the USA whit the shutdown and in general is the climat ok to be a dairyfarmer here in europe they blame everything on the farmers whits results in stupid and endless rules and regulations but i still love my wor k greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Milk price has been low the last few years but might be getting a little better now. I don't think the shut down affected it to much. They are not quite as strict with regulations here yet. Thanks
Thanks for the reaction hope prices will be good for everybody in 2019
What is a “heifer-yet”? 😁
usually more than six months of age and less than two years of age, that has had no more than one calf.
Do your cows ever go outside and free range the land and get a bit of sunshine and eat fresh grass?😮
How do you clean the calf stalls
I show it towards the end of my video called "DNA testing and other jobs"
What do you use for editing?
Imovie
Where do you guys ship milk to
Clover farms. Small company here in PA
where are yu from buddy
Can u tell me name of "vaccine"? I have problems with pneumonia when buying new young cattle.
It's called Inforce 3
Very nice video! How long do you keep the bull calves or do you sell them as calves?
We sell them within the first week
@@10thgenerationdairyman ok, makes sense. Didn't know if you raised steers.
Now do u get so many subs ? So fast
He got a shut out from PA farms vlog.
Good quality content gets views. Videos are informative, they are not to long or short, he is just showing what they do. Keep up the great work.

I can't believe he doesn't pet the cows. I do get it though.. They aren't pets.
