Woow I love this guy so much. He inspires me too much though we are very far a part. That is the power of hard work and determination. Receive much love from Kenya Africa. Cheers!!
I don’t think I know a single other human that works as hard as this guy! I literally almost spewed my drink when he pulled the Dewski out of the pile! That was awesome!
Structure, discipline and eliminating nonsense time, that is how to get work done. Well done. For the rest of us, we will keep spending time watching you work.
I love to watch how respectful you are of your animals and how clean you keep their pens. Too many farmers here in Calif. leave their cows in mud up to their knees all winter and in the hot sun with no shade in the summer. Cruelty to animals is a big problem too. You're a breath of fresh air, so young and with awesome ethics.
I am fairly new to your channel and I must say I am impressed by your guys operation, I ran a much smaller one with only a few head but you guys wow lol. I'm retired now and passed the torch down but sure miss this. Thanks for posting some great videos of farm life, without you guys the world without dairy wouldn't be a world at all. I don't think the everyday person realizes how much work it really takes to put that glass of milk on the table or in their bowl of cereal every morning. My opinion I think every city kid should at least work on a dairy farm or harvest crew at least once in their lifetime just to see how rewarding it truly is and man up some of them. Sorry not trying to be harsh but these spoiled little brats today wouldn't last one hour doing what you do. Thanks for your contribution to the world. God bless. Oh and your funny to listen to when it comes to the mysteriously appearing can of Pop that just shows up out of nowhere haha awesome.
I enjoy your videos a lot. Brings back memories, I worked on a dairy farm in high school for 2 years. We milked around a hundred jerseys in a tie stall barn in southern Minnesota. What you do is very hard work for not enough pay! Thanks for what you do!
It seems that your Dad and you work really well together. I am impressed how you guys take the welfare of the cows into consideration each day. I know that they are your lifeblood and am impressed how well they are taken care of.
We are a beef operation and I _HATE_ pinkeye. If your herd gets it here, you'll fight it the rest of the summer. We also use the mastitis cream in the eye along with oxytetracycline. The combo works very well. Our vet takes eye cultures from cattle they treat and develops a custom pinkeye vaccine specific to the strains found in our area. That has been the best thing we've done to prevent pinkeye outbreaks by far.
I really enjoy your videos, they take me down memory lane. I was 3rd generation dairy farmer, milked cows for 30 years from 12 years old. We had been in business for over 60 years. Went out of business in 2016 after many miserable years of poor milk prices and rising expenses. I miss it every day. Wish you and your family the best, future looks tough with increasing anti dairy mentality everywhere. Truly sad. Corn crop looks awesome makes great forage.
So glad to see a new video. The farm looks beautiful with all that green corn against the blue sky. You do a wonderful job young man...it's noted and appreciated. Blessings!
I wish any of my boys has 10% of your work ethics. Then I would have more time to do stuff as a family vs. Dad is always busy fixing everything. You are very impressive!
That is a fabulous field of corn you and dad have there and the farm looks great as usual. You guys have some real nice looking cows and calves. Thank you for sharing you busy day with us.Looking forward to the next video.
You will have to ask your veterinarian but the pick eye bacteria could be in the steel in the head locks or in the wood where the cows are housed so when I gets hot out the cows can get pinkeye because it’s growing. Not really sure if it work like that will pinkeyes but just something to think about
I love watching your videos, and learning about all cool stuff on your channel. It's nice to actually see what some farmers do on a day to day basis, hard work really pays off!
Nice work you doing a great job there. And can see you are still loving it wich is great. To see the younger generation really getting into it. Well done. From Andy in UK
Ha, great video. Your dad is fit, seeing him running after the cow, must be about my age! Spotted the helmet camera in the shadow. You'd be great being a cameraman in skydiving too.
Hey Eric! Good to see another video from you! That's always good! I see as usual you are busy busy busy! The work never ends on a dairy farm, does it? I love how you guys keep your barns and farm so clean and orderly. I have seen some dairy farms and just farms in general that don't. Those baby calves are so precious. We had some baby calves that we had to bottle feed when I was a teenager on our farm. I always loved that job. But they can get aggressive for that nipple on the bottle. LOL. BTW, I have found a couple other farming channels that glorify The Lord, like you do sometimes in your videos. One is "Fast Ag Montana", and I can't remember the other one right now. I think it was you that put the scripture from Isaiah at the end of your last video. I loved that. You should make that a regular feature. Those cans of Mtn. Dew sure do pop up in the strangest places, don't they? LOL. Anyway, take care and will be watching for a new video when you have time to make one!
You have a gift for editing, and you seem to put it to good use with these videos! You have an adept understanding of flow, and your cuts seem so effortless and smooth. Bravo, I wholeheartedly look forward to more content! Thank you for the work you do, keep on crushing it
Pink eye. We use dry cow therapy in eyes. Only have to do it once. Spray some virus/disinfectant mix on favorite rubbing points around the pens over the danger period ( mid summer) i think it attacks the eye if they get slight injuries to the eye surface (dust irritation) .that then allows the bacteria to take hold.
I'm unfamiliar with dairy cattle but I know with beef cattle generally when we see slot of pinkeye it's due to a high nitrates issue within our feed I recommend testing your feed ingredients to find out which one may be higher in nitrates and this problem can usually be resolved by a small change in forage harvesting timing and practices I also recommend increasing your cattles salt intake through the feed source we use Redmond brand salt because it has more nutrients naturally within it than regular feed store salt. Hope this helps good luck!
When I dairy farmed sometimes I mowed my lawn in a light rain or at dark! When you get a break from the farm you get something done at home! Not the other way around!
I don’t make any videos but I think it must be fairly difficult. Especially with all the work you do. I must say you have one of my favorite channels on UA-cam. Please keep working as hard as you do. Your work ethic is inspiring.
I didn't realise the process of fermentation was required to produce carbonated high fructose lemon lime flavoured corn syrup!?! Hahaha! That's a new one on me! Did you ever just use straight salt in the cows eyes? I doubted my father when he told me to do that for the sheep and cattle with pink eye. But it works! If you know the exact cause of the pink eye the correct antibiotic will work but maybe try salt if recurring cases happen?! I used boiled water to make salt solution and cooled it then squirted the eyes liberally. Psst. Also almost free! Thank you again for the sweet summer tour! Farmer MJ
For those curious about when he's mentioning "dryin up cows".. The dry period is an important resting period for the dairy cow, where fresh udder tissue is formed in readiness for the lactation, and it provides an important opportunity to rid the udder of many potential pathogens that can cause mastitis. I assume this is why they're doing it, to keep the cows healthy.
Hello from Beaverton, Oregon. Love your content Eric! Just recently found you and now I’m hooked. I was never raised on a farm but I did work on one as a teen and lived in the country. I’m really interested in hearing the history of your dairy farm. MN Millennial farmer and his father did a great video on their history. Have you ever thought about doing a same type of video with your father? I’m sure viewers would love the hear the full history. Keep up the great work! David
Another great video Eric! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your work on the farm with us. Now I know were Mountain Dew comes from! You are hilarious, great sense of humor!!
Corn 🌽 is amazingly beautiful!! Probably the farther back you go on that bunk the more the sugars combine together to create those green cans!! 😂Lol have a great week 🙋♀️
I would give a pickeye vac.shot in late April and it's at least 99 percent effective .if I did get one with it I would use a tube of mastitis treatment also ,love your channel it's nice to see a farmer doing their own work on their farm and not sit back in air-conditioning and order his 30 or more illeagles around
Pink eye is kinda like flu, in that there are many strains. Some vaccines have three different strains and still are not effective. I have vaccinated and had many cases, and have not and had none. For me it seems, better off controlling flies, and long grass, and any other irritant.
Is it possible that the water from the mist contains pink eye bacteria? Any correlation? Also, Thanks for showing us where Mtn Dew comes from... I'd often wondered.
Eric you're a teaser show the sub didn't get a good look at it and needed to cut the plastic back first on silage clamp before you eat the sub to find the magical Mountain Dew that appeared lol and a nice video. It makes sense to use the antibiotic used for mastitis for both are infections good luck with pinkeye.
Hey! Looks like you're doing good work. Just found your channel. Fascinated by everything farming related right now since we're starting our own operation. Cheers! Phil at Woods Tree Farm
Woow I love this guy so much. He inspires me too much though we are very far a part. That is the power of hard work and determination. Receive much love from Kenya Africa. Cheers!!
Indeed he is hardworking
Nice
I am also inspired by this guy to work hard
He is simply amazing
I just wanted to take a nap. Lol
In all my years as a kid on the farm, the fermenting process never resulted in me finding a mountain dew. lol
Lar you were doing it wrong :))
I just mowed the lawn and I'm tired - he mows the lawn as a break....
Lol I mow 2000 square feet and then need 3 beers. He drinks 1 mountain dew and then mows 2000 acres..!!
I love to watch how respectful you are of your animals and how clean you keep their pens. I never thought about losing every calf to illness all at once. That must have been learned the hard way.
Thanks for caring and sharing.
I am now all caught up on your video's, you are so kind to your animals. So refreshing to see a young man of integrity. Thank you
gota love how nature just grows mountain dew. seems to be eveywhere around there. awesome videos.

I fall for the Mt. Dew EVERY TIME! LOL I'm like, oohh, what are we learning next! Nothing! LOL Great vids

Mountain Dew needs to sponsor you like really bad...........Your ads for it are just as good as theirs lol
Maybe better than theirs tbh
No. His ads are better then something mountain dew can come up with!! Lol
His ads are way better. Those kickstart commercials were so annoying.
So glad you post videos frequently. We love watching them!!!

The crops look super! Lovely and green and growing like crazy.
Such beautiful calves, Eric!!! I used to raise Holsteins, forever my favorite breed.

Flies are another way it can spread, so fly control might be another thing to look at.
is pink eye the same as new forest disease thats caused by flys
Best farmer I’ve seen on you tube inspiring and great at teaching people thing about farming
I love watching your videos, and learning about all cool stuff on your channel. It's nice to actually see what some farmers do on a day to day basis, hard work really pays off!

It seems a harsh choice considering the possibilities of getting sick.😢
You make all this work look super easy.......good job

Came here to say this. You said it better.
lmfao wow, that mountain dew joke was great. just thrown in there.

The calories you must burn, OMG! Love your videos and the way you run your farm. So good and so interesting.

You’re such a hardworking man! I don’t know why people had to press the “thumbs down”.
The amount of hard labour is crazy, big props man keep it up

Hey we use straight penicillin for pinkeye. It works very well. Just spray them in the eye with the syringe.
if you buy a calf, and lift it above your head once a day for a full year, you'll get super strong!!!

Hey! Looks like you're doing good work. Just found your channel. Fascinated by everything farming related right now since we're starting our own operation. Cheers! Phil at Woods Tree Farm
Well done on finding time to film.
On my place we have always been using dry cow penacilin to treat pink eye. Thanks for the video
Yet another great video well done
