It's 2024 and I just came across Fentanyl it led me to some of the best music I've heard in 20 years maybe. I just turned 60 last month and I thought music died a long time ago.
I thought the same thing for a long time. Thing is, it's out there, it's just buried and suppressed by the music industry that is trying to force its crap into our ear canals! Should check out Stephen Wilson Jr.. That album "Son of Dad" is pretty much all greatness and worthy of being set to repeat. Year to be Young 1994 takes me back...
I came from the acoustic sets... Now I'm blown away again! I am 66 years old, never thought I'd live to see this magnitude of talent again. I have videos of bands and singers run in my head as I watch this. Welles has qualities of all the greats.
Amazing Live Band! Just seen them for the second time 2 nights ago. Will be seeing them again in about two months. Don't miss these guys if they come near you! You will be blown away by the energy and talent before your eyes!
I found him through his acoustic stuff which is great, but is this a grown man talking about having sex with a disenfranchised seventeen year old? Thats pretty exploitative if its what its about? Im not certain of the life Jesse's had but if they transitioned at 17 that makes sense otherwise it feels incredibly icky to listen to this. I thought we were past this predatory bullshit after cobain
I read the lyrics and it sounds like what you describe, and as grotesque as that is, and I’m not condoning anything like that, but from an artistic standpoint, if that’s the interpretation we are going with, it shows how vulnerable a kid is if they are thinking they are transgender, and this song works artistically as a cautionary tale about that, and I think that’s a good point to be made because as a society we have to recognize this so that maybe one day confused kids can be safe from medical malpractice and predators. I do have another possible interpretation though that I haven’t ruled out yet, perhaps its describing a story about a girl that a guy liked (let’s assume they’re the same age) and he watches her go down the path of being confused about who she is, “I can see past your short hair telling me that you don’t care”, and in wanting to be with her, he affirms her in her nihilism, narcissism, and confusion. “Will they ever forgive us? All wet-lipped and guiltless? In our heads we're like winners Though we're just beginners At some miserable game I'll take you out to Ar-kansas Where there's beer and molasses We'll let the times fly on past us The whole world, kiss our asses Through red trees and white trashes” What do you think?
Trust me (or not) there are FAR WORSE things than this guy having consensual sex with a 17 year old. (Assuming this song is based in reality and he is not taking poetic license.) SOOOO, may I suggest something....??.... ....LIGHTEN UP fer Chrissakes before you get too heavy! 🙄😶
he wrote this song when he was 17, i just saw it in another interview the video is titled "Welles Talks 'Red Trees and White Trashes,' Writing on Tour and Performs "Life Like Mine" it's a radio station in New York
JESUS..... We just gonna have us a "STER O LIZED" world by makin "sho" we got us all dem dirty speeches "ex or cized" out of the U2ube com men tary.... Makin sure dere ain't nuthin scary? Scary is as scary duz ,"cuz", that is why I likes the speech fuzz.... Pullin my comments like dey pullin my pud.... likewise, its amazing his voice is so powerful it kept us wanting more, that is truly hard to come by these days.
In recent videos on other channel he looks younger.

Me Too. Supper great Lyrics.
Real music with soul.
Ditto (64 yo). It wasn’t Fentanyl but another that’s now lost to the deep dive. So good and real.
Talent of a generation gets found singing funny songs in a forest on Tiktok. What a world.
He's here too.
This kid is gonna blow up if he lives.... astounding talent.
No idea how this dude/band isn’t really famous.
Oh yeah, bc he actually has something real to say.
Real talent and truth are kyptonite to the industry
Fame can kill creativity and a lot more. I'm just glad to hear him.
the machine is scared shitless of talent like this going big
*yet. People like this will be famous at some point. 🔥
This is too good for today's world.
Whoa whoa.. get outta here with your standards. 🤪😂

HOW does this not have more views?
agreed
Because it’s not hip hop or pop country.
This grunge kind of Jesse tune is great also. Love everything he does.
He's one of the best songwriters I've ever heard, including the famous ones.
I'll second that!
Where have I been? Why am I only hearing this now? I feel deprived yet thankful I did not miss out entirely.....
this guy fucking shreds! I'm a new fan!
Dude has an amazing voice
War isn't murder ❤❤❤
Damn that solo caught me off guard. Fire!
Smother me with rock n roll please
I know I’m in but I’m out there, great much and great lyrics
The guitar solo is mind blowing
This guy's incredible has stuff on UA-cam now that's more recent and song of the day

Every single song Jesse Welles has produced is a banger. Amazing talent. From Dylan to Cobain, and more.
This band is an American treasure ❤
Damn, he can play!
Fuck.. I’m disappointed I’m just now seeing this. The industry is garbage. This shoulda been huge.
Be happy if you can.... You just been pulled from The Matrix man! 🫡
They needed the room for Carbi B's WAP

Just realizing how much your voice sounds like Jay Malinowski from Bedouin Sound Clash!
Now, correct me if I’m wrong but is that a fender Kurt cobain Jaguer what’s confusing me is the headstock but idk
🥰
❤❤
Why isn't this on spotify or anything?
Jacob Lisenby it is
💚💚💚💚💚😘
I thought this was Kip Winger
Kirk couldn’t play either, this amazing and roots
I will take these 3 guys over Rush
This band would sound so much better with another guitarrist
They have two guitarists for live shows now. The other guy is really good too. Allows Jesse to have more freedom to shred
Boo
The point is how great they are with minimal tools
Asmongold?
not even close man. long hair and scraggly beard could be so, so many people - and those are the only like qualities
@@dedompler they both look kind of homeless.. :P
