@@cationgaming3625 My feeling is even though Caine is the ringmaster AI of the Circus, he really doesn't hold much actual power as he appears to. His main purpose might really just be to keep the players from losing sanity and maintaining the grounds, as the code can break down i.e. Abstracted Kaufmo glitching up anything he touches. World construction might be a bonus, but he can't control anything else beyond that.

There are three types of clowns in this world. Goofy clowns, trauma clowns, and murder clowns.
Something tells me Pomni will have the chance to dip her toes in all three categories.

For real, though, Real Life has a number of variants of the clown. btw ist been confirmed that Caine is a helpful AI character. not evil, he just really doesnt understand how humans work, so he just ends up seeming really crazy, while trying to help keep everyone as comfortable as he can
Fair enough, but if the company is Caine and Able, that can easily be a ploy. We won't know until we are shown. Writers love pulling the wool under our eyes even with official info.

Caine is also inspired by AM from I have no mouth and I must scream, with the other characters being reminiscent of the last humans.

Funny how you question how Jax eats when he and Pomni are the only (current) human characters with mouths. Zooble and Kinger have no mouths and Ragatha's and Gangle's mouths are just painted on.
It's more how his teeth never opened while he talked, that my focus was on it.

@@James_Marshall92 kind of, there are a bunch of different kinds of performers of this type with different histories. The American clown is sort of a hybrid of the harlequin with mimes and a few others...there are clown subsets but most aren't relavent anymore or recognizable to most audiences. I think the best division here is the clown mocks the poor and himself in the process as a stand in for various groups (originally) while the Jester mocks the elite. So self harm slap stick punching down vs satire of the king punching up.

I think Saberspark had a good theory on this too. The Digital Circus is a children's computer game that is being developed. Pomni and the other characters are the devs. And Caine is the Ai who uses these people as his playthings. Not malicious or evil, but definitely insane by our standards.
I have been following the works of Gooseworx and Kevin Temmer are both talented animators and musicians in their own right, so to me it was no surprise this turned out so good. I highly suggest taking a look at their other work and possibly reacting to it. The "gameshow in the stomach" was a reference to Gooseworx's animation "Elain the Bounty Hunter" or "Little Runmo" I can't remember which one.

Fairly sure they're the same, it's just the lighting that makes it look a different colour. The arrow is the only difference, showing the inverse we see when Pomni eventually goes through one

I suppose the purpose is just having a modern version of purgatory for Cain (the first sin) and enbodyments of the seven deadly sins (as those minds being imprisoned)

Things don't need to have a purpose, they just exist and will continue to be regardless if we accept that or not.
I suppose so, but digital things specifically are often made with a purpose in mind.
I actually have a SUPER far fetched, outlandish theory, but when I saw the Cain and Abel thing (C&A) I thought, wait, if that’s the case, why is there only Caine? We know they can’t die and Caine’s been confirmed to be a near godlike AI in the circus so it wouldn’t make sense if Abel got abstracted or didn’t exist at all as he’d be an AI with near unlimited power too, but then, I thought of something. Out of all the characters, Caine is a confirmed AI with godlike powers and possibly a connection to C&A, the rest are all humans or NPC’s created for adventures, but then, there’s Bubble. Bubble is a bit animal like to be a person, and has a close relationship to Caine and isn’t part of any adventure in particular. Also, Caine seems to have powers related to creation such as creating NPC’s and structures or altering digital forms in the digital realm, so what if Abel was once a godlike AI like Caine, with the power of destruction rather than creation, and was in charge of deleting abstracted people who couldn’t be fixed or deleted by Caine? And Caine was confirmed to be wanting to help but simply has a lack of understanding, so what if Caine wanted to convince Abel not to delete them yet and that maybe in the future they could find a way to fix them, but Abel thought it was too dangerous to let them stay, let alone pile up in numbers (like they do in the cellar) and that it was his duty to delete them to keep the digital realm stable, so Caine reluctantly used his ability to manipulate digital forms in order to not delete Abel, but to put him in a state similar to stasis, such as for example, giving him a form which can’t use his powers, and making a false dumb personality to serve as sedation, like Bubble for example. Bubble is close to Caine, is such a weird character, and is voiced by the creator herself, and yet we know close to nothing in terms of details relating to plot or lore, well what if Bubble is just the form Caine turned his AI brother into in order to keep him under control until he finds a way to save the abstracted people? This could also lead to a very heavy result with 1 of 2 possibilities, either Caine is right and they do find a way to make everyone normal again, or Abel is right, the abstracted ones break out of the cellar, and Bubble has to be turned back into his original form to delete the abstracted ones, which would end up on a sad note but also weirdly granting a sense of both closure and doom as it would show that there really is no way to come back after you’re gone.
But that’s just a theory I thought of while rewatching the pilot over and over, it would also be fine and downright hilarious too if it turns out even with all the mystery and implied importance it turns out that Bubble is just Bubble.
Oh, that's a lot for what little we have, lol. Only time will tell how much of this gets unpacked ^_^.
