Thanks Mark! There are so many amazing solos from our younger days; I wish I had the time to post more of them. I do appreciate the compliment, though. That's very kind of you!
@@StacieBalmer-yv4xm It is one of the best pop music guitar solos from that era but to be fair I, too was listening to a healthy dose of Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Dio and Queensrÿche back in '84. It's OK to appreciate all different genres of music ✌
@@phillybul215 Head over Heels from TFF's same '85 album also has some cool guitar licks. If you're asking for some of my favorites from this era, guitar-solo-wise, I'd say Send Her My Love by Journey, Only The Lonely by The Motels or even I Ran by Flock of Seagulls but please know that this is entirely subjective. Just do a quick google search to get started and see what moves you.
Love the song and your playing Domingo. Spot on. FWIW, I saw TFF play "Shout" live on September 4th, 1985 when they were touring to support "Songs From the Big Chair." One of my favorite concerts of all time.
Roland may not get much recognition as one of the great guitarists but he deserves credit for all his great solos. His song writing in general is outstanding but I think he deserves mass respect for his guitar parts, brilliant. Oh and this was very well done. Also, great job nailing the tone.
Wow! This is one of the kindest and amazing comments I ever received. It means a lot to me to know that I've inspired you to pick up the instrument. Thank you and please reach out if I can be of help to you with anything guitar related.
Thank you for the kind words! This is a great example of a soulful, anthemic and emotive guitar solo that supports the song perfectly. I also like your own bass cover of Head Over Heels. I subscribed to your channel 🙂
Thanks Ant! Obviously the majority of my content is voiceover-related but I'm having fun posting the occasional music performance video on bass and now guitar. There will be more to come!
I could teach it to you but it's more fun to learn it on your own. Start with the slow parts as they tend to be easier and play along with the recording. Whenever you get stuck on some of the more difficult parts just look for a guitar lesson here on YT for someone to help you. Also, take your time learning. It can be challenging but it should also be fun. I look forward to hearing of your progress 🙂
Beautiful broher. I wish you would get more attention for your channel. I'm still a "child", if you would even say that. But uh, I love 80s songs and so does my dad so good job brother!
I appreciate that my friend! I started this channel to promote my voice over work but I've found that whenever I post music videos they get more views than my VO posts. That's ok. Even though I don't have that many subscribers I'm still having fun. Oh, please sub to my channel and I'll do the same for you :-) Remember that it's ok to be young. Enjoy this time and know that no matter what age you are you can always learn new things and become better. Say HI to your dad for me!
I actually used my Fractal AX8 for this. Brit JVM OD2 Orange Channel with light compression added before the amp, mono chorus then stereo reverb and delay added in post. Thanks for the comment!
@@bobbyodell8676 My bad. You're right. I used light compression added before the amp and mono chorus later in the preset chain. I edited my previous reply to show this 🙂

Thanks for the comment! I used my Fractal AX8 for this. Brit JVM OD2 Orange Channel with light compression added before the amp, mono chorus then stereo reverb and delay added in post. Of course, you don't need this specific gear to achieve similar results. Start with mild overdrive (less than you might think) and stereo delay.
Thanks Harold! Yeah, the two chords that I'm using at the end are definitely not what what he's playing but sometimes it's fun to embellish a little. Are you a guitar player yourself?
That feeling when you hit that first chord coming out of the solo and you know you nailed it… aaaaah 😁
