No other plane is more imposing and noisier than the MD 11. No other plane has a more beautiful take-off climb than the MD 11. No other plane will leave as beautiful memories as the MD 11. I've flown in an A350-900 but I'd trade it for 20 minutes on an MD 11. It's for an aviation icon in every way. It is the favorite in my heart and will be missed a lot. Goodbye dear and beloved MD 11!
Sir I have a question. Why cant the plane be reproduced with much more fuel efficient engines and most modern avionics?. I heard that aircrafts such as MD-11 have less fuel efficiency. So replacing the engine with advanced would help. Right?. If so why the company stop producing classic such as MD-11?.Thanks
@@vivekpilot It's not that easy just to reproduce an aircraft. Beside the fact, that it will be handled like a new aircraft regarding certification (which means a lot of money) It's not just that there are new engines and new avionic nowdays, but a much better aerodynamic due to new modern material. Sadly, the third engine also means much more cost (beside fuel also maintanace of course) and is not needed anymore due to ETOPS and very reliable engines.
@@lukeheffner2658 Thanks for your reply. By the way my doubt was about retaining the beautiful structure with composite materials like those used in B-787 dreamliner. I still desperately wish classics like MD-11,Concorde,F-4 Phantom, F-14,Tristar-1011,Mig-21..etc etc may reborn with contemporary technology retaining those beautiful structure..!! I know there are hurdles but still my mind want it to happen..!! Thank you very much for your reply sir..!!🙏🏼🙏🏼
for some reason if i see the md11, it remind me my childhood. maybe because i saw them many times. no idea. But the MD11 and the BOEING 747-400 canl never ever be replaced, by a other plane. Thanks for this share!
Love the shots going through the cloud layers, that always gets my attention when I'm on a flight in any type of plane. I grew up just north of the Long Beach (California) MD factory where planes were made, we used to go down to the neighboring Long Beach airport and watch the planes take off and land from the open 'skydeck' outside the airport's 2nd floor restaurant. The MD-11 was in production after I moved, but still remember the DC-10 and the smaller two-engine planes (cant recall the model numbers!). Sadly I never got to fly on an MD-11.
I am glad that I have experience with this triJet MD11 as My first trans atlantic flight….an that will keep a good memory to flight with this beautiful iron Bird…..
Incredible to think these are gone. I remember seeing ads for the new DC-10 coming soon. Now there all but a memory. 10’s and 11’s. So sad ! Now all we have are identical twin engine stuff.
Kind of a bummer that MD11 has left Europe for good, but I’m also glad to hear that some of the former fleet will join UPS. And the last one to leave Lufthansa, former D-ALCC, will join Western Global Airlines to continue its duty
Unfortunately, the plane never performed up to the fuel-consumption & range specifications expected by airlines, so was quickly relegated to cargo service if used at all. Several early purchase orders were canceled before many planes had even been built.
It`s a real heartbraking to see another MD11/DC10 family baby last trip. So sad and hard to accept the actual situation, but the job must to go on. I could not to aboard any of these birds, so very bad luck.
Old birds never die, the simply soar in our hearts and minds eye...

Amazing airplane, amazing video! Thank you very much for sharing

Ich habe jede Sekunde auf dem First Observer Seat genossen. Danke für dieses großartige Video mit den tollen Eindrücken. Ich werde die Diva vermissen!
Sie wird fehlen!

Wait what? They've all left the fleet already? When I saw one in the new livery I figured they'd still be around for a while.
I feel terrible.
Lindas imagens. Parabéns.
Really nice production!!
Thank you!
Most beautiful airliner plane ever. Will be missed
Yes it will!

Linda homenagem para o melhor avião já fabricado

Not anymore... the last MD-11 "CC" left the fleet last week.
😢😢😢😢😢😢
😰😰😰
All we're left with is soulless two- holers. All the same. Lost the passion for modern aviation.
Ba bye
Meh, the L1011 was better
