Just what I had to do first time I cracked open a mechanoid building and the pawns kept getting to close to it before I was able to kill them 😅.

I know this vid is a month old, but just build some sandbag rings at the four corners of your main area. When you get attacked send all of your guys with firearms to the sandbag ring nearest the attack and let them wait there. they will kill the attacker before he can get over the sandbags and wound them with melee weapons.
