Connor's skill is in how smooth and natural he is. Watching him you can tell he is skilled...but it looks so natural that you barely notice just how much skill he has. It's insane to see him play. Plus his speed is terrifyingly fast.
In hockey you can remove the goaltender to put an additional player in. Teams usually use this strategy when they are losing at the end of the game. All or nothing mentallity.
Clouds A. Or when there’s a delayed penalty
@@danyheatleyall-star3677 You don't score on your own team when you pull a goalie. :)
Scott Linting when there’s a delayed penalty the team that had the penalty committed against them will pull the goalie for an extra attacker because as soon as an opposing player touches the the puck the play is blown dead and the penalty is enforced leading to a power play, at what point did I say they pull the goalie to score on themselves or have you just never watched hockey before?
it was a joke. Relax
Scott Linting oh lmao my b it was like 3 when I typed that and I completely missed it
Always fun when I get to see others who have never seen hockey have appreciation of its art, especially someone as mesmerizing as Mcdavid. I really enjoyed and appreciated how honest and open you were to learning about a new sport. Definitely got a subscription for me 🙌🏻
"if you blink you'll miss it" lol so true about the way mcdavid plays hockey. the speed he plays at is just unbelievable
As a Edmonton Oilers fan, we are very lucky to have him and able to watch him every night. And seems to always amaze us when we thought we seen it all.
It’s real nice to see after ten years or so of supporting a team that came in last every year, isn’t it? :) I’m an oilers fan as well and got so much flak for it before they finally started improving.
Thanks for repping our boy!! this was just season highlights tho, his career highlights have some nasty dangles
damn you're gorgeous!! keep reacting to more hockey vids.. you're actually smarter than alot of hockey fans in my opinion. you analyze this extremely well for someone who's relatively new to hockey.
No she does not, and no she doesn't wanna f*ck you so you can stop brown nosing
A lot is actually 2 words not 1.
@@brandonhicks2522 lol shut the fuck up and quit being insecure
Nice! I love seeing people react to Hockey highlights!
Mcdavid is the road runner of hockey... Unreal fast and hands to match....meep! Meep! Keep em coming... your hockey IQ is better than most
thank u i will have to do more hockey
He has been a phenom since he was 14 years old. Look at his career highlights not just one season. He is incredible and easily the most skilled hockey player to play yet
I really appreciate the fact that you research people before just watching the highlights! Great video and great channel!
He is the most skilled player in the world, and also happens to be the fastest player in the world, the control he has of the puck at top speed is insane. Watching him play hockey, is like watching Michael Jordan play basketball in his prime. Mcdavid is that dominant.
Watch former goalie Dominick Hasek he could move in ways humans shouldn't (like he was an invertebrate).
finally, someone suggesting a goalie
drewagoosa68 the best goalie of all time
@@danyheatleyall-star3677 yah I wouldn't say of all time bud
@@danyheatleyall-star3677 not even close. The reason he had to flop all over the place was because he had poor rebound control and wasn't very good positionally. This made it tough on the D too. The best save is when the shooter shoots right at you because you're in position. Good goalies rarely have to make desperation moves so they don't flop around. They also make it look easy and boring. Guys like Joseph, Roy and Brodeur were better than Hasek.
Adam Fishman You invalidated your point completely when you mentioned cujo as positionally sound some of Joseph’s best saves came when he was out of position
Brodeur had the benefit of playing behind the best defensive system ever in the dead puck era in his later years when scoring went up he wasn’t able to adjust to not having a tough defense to force shots outside
Roy is absolutely a legitimate argument and an absolute legend but it’s hard for me to put a former hab as the best of all time 😂
On the point that hasek wasn’t good positionally that’s not necessarily true he just saw the angles differently than anyone else and he was able to use his body in ways that no other could to stop the shot
I like how she says, "they look like they have a really good team" hahaha 😂😂
She needs to do google search not only on player but on team too😂
Lmao only a true hockey game would get that joke, good one
How dare you.lol The oil is taking the cup next year
This is hilarious now, Oilers with the best record in the NHL and highest win % overall. Suck it, hardddddd.
@@Porkleaker ....and they have accomplished what?
i love the concept of this channel and the beautiful queen running it! keep these vids comin' ma, we love you
Thank you
Great takes, thanks for the video! Love that you're getting into all the great athletes, even though hockey may get fewer views. Also, totally agree with the Datsyuk recommends, please review him!! His talent was one of a kind.
For someone who didn't know about empty nets, your hockey sense is amazing!
He is Magic Johnson on ice. I love how the goalies look dejected after he scores. Their body language is funny. It is like they wish they were somewhere else
I see that too 🤣
15:59 mcdavid, INTENTIONALLY, bats his teammates chip-in out of the air with the shaft of his stick (less than an inch long), then goes on to snipe the tender with a wrist shot from near the top of the circle? this dude has insane speed, reflexes, skill and awareness.. i need to start keeping up with the league again. bout to watch some oilers games
edit: for someone who doesnt watch hockey regularly you covered this really well! keep it up
Just to clarify how good he is, this team looks really good, but they aren't and it goes to show you how much he carries them
Jared Andrew fuck you man and what do you do? Nothing bitch
without McD, the Oilers would still be getting first overall draft picks
@XBOXRULES you're spare parts, figure it out
Jared Andrew stfu
@@seansaville5664 with McDavid we still could get a first overall pick
Pavel datsyuk, one of the most impressive players in the last 20 years
You never appreciate how talented Ice hockey players are. The ice is slippery af! and they move like its walking to them. Very hard to ice skate this well. Most people cannot skate and usually hold the walls to move around while they're legs give out from sliding.
I told you about Connor Bedard the 15-year-old super star.
I'm from Edmonton and have had the pleasure of watching Connor McDavid play every game so far. He truly is a master at his craft on both ends of the ice. Great video. 🙌🏼
Hes amazing him and Crosby are out of this world
@@Triciamichelle_yt Agreed!
Would you please do a reaction video on Dwyane Wade career highlights? Thanks kindly and feel better.
@Ricky Tan - Glad you brought up his defensive play, not a lot of people talk about it. That kid just came into the league knowing what he was doing at both ends; you almost never see that. It's easier for him because he's faster than everybody, but he still works hard all over the ice, and when he decides to take the puck away, that's pretty much what's going to happen. I think he'll end up being a perennial Selke finalist before long.
@@fullwookiee4560 I couldn't agree with you more. 🙌🏼
You are so cool, you pick up alot of the nuances of the game, kudos. Amazing talent, skill, and performance. McDavid is no slouch either. You saw that coming. Hope you achieve all of your goals. ugh.
Check out the Pissed Off Goalies videos. Those always get me laughing.
Oh wow lol I'll add that to my list
I honestly love you. You're like me in the sense that you don't need to understand a sport deeply to appreciate the immense skill needed to accomplish such feats. I'm a hockey man, and while there's not much I fully understand about Cricket, Rugby, Tennis, etc. I do know how to acknowledge the greatness involved with some of these remarkable athletes. Athleticism is athleticism, and they're all amazing.
Exactly.......Thank you.... you get it❤
I love that you research the player before watching the video. I have to say, you are gorgeous!
Love the content. Keep it up! hehe
Thank you I just try to get a little background 1st
You caught a lot of his strengths! He is the fastest skater ever to play. His stick handling is fast too. Stick handling is not just to keep it going straight, or to control it like you mentioned, it's also to confuse the defenders and make them process more.
One thing that he's the best at that might not be obvious is upper body and lower body isolation. So he can skate like crazy with his lower body and still stick handle as well as when he's gliding. It's not easy to control and shoot the puck with the upper body when skating because skating is a whole body movement requiring fine balance and a lot of force running in different directions.
"highly evolved" is what you thought. He takes almost every hockey skill to a new level without any weakness. Speed, stick handling, shooting, passing, thinking especially. He's also not bad in terms of strength and size although that's not his game.
As for his team being good: I'm a fan but... His linemates are good, but they don't have much else unfortunately. The manager has traded badly.
Glad you appreciate hockey. Great sport but extremely rough. I played in the late 80's. Seen some outstanding players over the years. Thanks to a beautiful young lady for your reaction and well done. Best success.
Nice reaction. In relation to your wondering why there was no goaltender on one of McDavid's goals, it's because teams will sometimes pull their goaltender in order to put on an extra attacker when trailing late in a game to increase the chances of scoring a goal. In relation to McDavid being called the most evolved player, it's because of how much the game has sped up, not just how fast players can skate, but also how rapidly they react, make decisions and execute plays. P.S., please react to Pavel Datsyuk, he was magic. .
When a team is down by a goal, often that team will pull their goalie to put an extra attacker on the ice. As the action moves down to the other end of the rink, the goalie will suddenly make a wild dash for the bench. Once he’s there another player will rush to the action in their attempt to score. It doesn’t always work as you saw on the video, where an empty net goal was scored.
You pretty much have to be a team player in hockey, puck hogs don’t make the pros, or semi-pro’s even. There’s too much pressure on players as soon as they have the puck for anyone to be able to do everything by themselves. Which is why its so impressive when you see McDavid skate through the entire opposing team to score all by himself. The ability for a player to do that usually ends around bantam, which is the level 13 and 14 year olds play at. He makes professionals look like they’re junior hockey players.
Note* Teams can pull their goalie to put a sixth player on the ice. Usually they only do it at the very end of games if they’re down by one.
McDavid is undoubtedly the best player in the NHL. The Usain Bolt of Hockey for speed. He makes his linemates and team look good when they really aren't. He's on one of the crappier teams but he carries them so hard. There are some who are flashier, some who got better shots but no one faster and more well rounded then him. That's why his nickname is Connor McJesus.
I take offence to that remark! It has unfortunately been true for far too long... but as I'm not a Leafs fan, when I tell you to wait until next season, you should have reason to consider it. ;-)
I had the honor to watch connor when he was in juniors for erie otters he was simply amazing
FYI that speedy goal vs Calgary he was travelling around 40kmph
me no km, miles please lol
Carlo De la Vera 25 miles an hour
when a team is down with only a minute or two left in the game, if it’s still close they often excerise there right to remove the goalie from the ice and put on an extra skater. so that’s why there was an empty net.
Love that you research the player first to get to know him! You should go to a game in person. 1,000x better than watching on TV.
Cried tears of joy. Glad people can enjoy abilities of mcdaddy
I’m 51 and lived in Edmonton from 79-83 when Gretzky played....saw Lemieux in his prime and there’s no doubt in my mind that McDavid is better than both......thing is he has the on ice vision of Gretzky, the soft hands of Lemieux is faster than Bure was and his hockey IQ is off the charts. I always wondered how someone who’s never seen hockey would see it, but you must be an athlete because you notice how plays develop and really appreciate what this guy is doing.😎👍
So just to give you the reason why there was an empty net. When a team is down by a goal and needs to tie the game they can pull their goalie out to get an extra attacker. You will also see the goalie of a team leave the net when the opposing team is called for a penalty. The team awarded the penalty can have an extra skater without their goalie only until the opposing penalized team touches the puck. This part of hockey is really exciting to watch. You should sit down and watch some playoff Hockey in April :)
7.22 “he’s left like 3 defenders”💀
Time for an mcdavid update. He's done some unbelievable things since this video
React to Sidney Crosby GoPro video
james delaney Insane
Why the net was empty is in the last few minutes of the game the losing team (usually just 1-2 goals) can pull their goalie to get a 6th player on the ice. Any team can do this anytime but usually only done then. Another time they can pull is when the other team gets a "Delayed Penalty" with penalties the team that got the penalty needs to get control of the puck to get the play stopped. And because they can't score because when they touch the puck the whistle blows, that's a good time to pull your goalie to get a 6th player.
Back In the day when I used to live in Northern Alberta, Canadia there was a this one skinny little kid that was really good at shooty pucks on ice. His Name was Dwayne Gratsby and he played for the Edmingtown Boilers if memory services me correctly. I wonder what ever happened to that guy?
wtf lol
HAHAHA
You have a very good judge of how the games supposed to be played pretty quick
So, my mom is from Crosby’s town and my dad and I are from McDavid’s. And yet, no NHL contract for me.
Check back in a few years. Conor Mcdavid has only scratched the surface of his career. The best is yet to come for this young man. He’s only 21 years old right now.
I will hes a freight train
Allure Vision if you enjoy ice hockey highlights you should check out Pavel Datsyuk. He is truly a magician with the puck.
This needs an update, he's gotten even better, look up this seasons goal vs New York Rangers he takes on 4 players and scores lol, he's always got his head up and handles the puck at speeds of 27.5Mph. Do a McJesus 2.0!
Connor is great another guy you should watch is Leon Draisaitl, he is Connors teammate so you will see alot of Connor still. In Edmonton we are very lucky to have both players.
This kid is the best hockey player NHL has EVER seen!
McDavid score in an empty net
Her: Ouhhh... wow... Incredible
Haha 😂
Bryant Bee 🐝 The fuck Man U fucking trash ass kid go back to school
*That's the issue with these reaction videos to a topic that the reactor has no clue about. It's hard to value what they're watching if they don't have much understanding to it. I mean, they can see how nice those plays are... but to really understand just how good they are, you also need to understand the game too.*
As a Wings fan, it was fun watching Pavel play.
This is the Great One of this generation
He truly is the heir to Gretzky. Greatest hockey player next to Gretzky of all time when it's all said and done.
just watched your video today left a like Captain Connor MacDavid #97 is the fastest in the NHL Recorded speeds at 40.9 kms or 25.5 miles an hour, Proud Edmonton Oiler fan and yes you said it right at the end. Yes you're right he has more assists than goals definitely a Team player.
Any sports aficionado would want to know, the first three goals are all in the same game. A hat trick, a hockey expression (meaning scoring three times in one contest) that has bled into other games. That's why the fans are throwing their hats on the ice after the third goal in this reel.
Origin: Hockey players used to make peanuts. In Toronto, in the early days, there was a hat shop that gave a free hat to any Maple Leaf who scored three times in one game. A hat trick.
You should watch his 19/20 season highlights. He scored the goal
of the year. This guy is crazy
I love your willingness to learn this great sport. A team will pull the goalie to put a extra skater on the ice if down 1-2 goals. The tactic works about 10% 0f the time.
If a kid does not start playing hockey by 5 YO, then he/she will not likely have the skill to compete at the top level later. It is a sport that requires the most skill. Perhaps hitting a curve ball in baseball requires more. Not worth debating. Both are very difficult.
Sean G
I'm from McDavid's hometown. Great player.
Her boyfriend or husband better realize he has a gem.
Good content! I subbed for the hockey reactions!
Well thank you ❤
du Russian King of Kings in Ice Hockey: Pavel Bure !!!
It's a strategy in ice hockey, when you're losing late in the game, to take the goalie out of the net so that you can put an extra player on to help in the attack to get a goal. If you let in another goal, you lose anyway.
Oh makes sense thank you
"He's got a great swing"
The reason it said Connor mcmatthews at the end was because there is another great player named Auston Matthews. U should watch his highlights. He’s incredible
thanks for doing research before the reaction thats really cool :)
McDavid is the fastest skater in the NHL, but what makes him really special is that his mind and hands are quick enough to keep up with his feet.
It's funny. How you describe McDavid, it's exactly how hockey scouts and experts describe him too.
I couldn't be more impressed with your instincts! I'm from Edmonton, home of McDavid's Oilers. Also the place where Gretzky did his best work. Ya know what really impressed me? You butchered the pronunciation of Edmonton the first time you said it... but you instinctually knew it wasn't right and you sounded it out like 3 or 4 times before you said it perfectly! How did you know? Well, you have the same instincts about hockey, too! Your comments were so on the money that I expect to hear you plagiarized by the pros someday! Keep up the good work... you're a natural hockey fan, which is high praise from a Canadian! I just watched your Datsyuk vid and it was very entertaining as well!
Thank you for all your kind words. I actually never knew I would like hockey. Thanks for supporting.
The speed of the game has to be seen live to get the full effect.
Sidney crosby with the go-pro was pretty fun, u should watch
Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux, McDavid, Crosby: Most talented NHL'ers ever IMO
All Canadians
You can't forget guys like Maurice "Rocket" Richard, Gordie Howe, Jean Beliveau, Bobby Hull, Guy Lafleur....
A Cor mackinnon?
How about Ovi ?
Fastest player ever and currently arguably most skilled maybe tied with Kucherov and Crosby
Pavel Bure was faster than him, but besides that probably yea. And mcdavid > crosby, kucherov in terms of skill.
On the spinning play, McDavid was the guy going backwards, not the guy who scored
After watching this for 26 and a half hours straight, I am 100% convinced that he cannot actually skate well at all, he just has really lucky feet, and lucky hands to...with a lucky brain. Which is pretty lucky really.
The reason there was no goalie in that one clip is because in hockey you can pull your goalie to get an extra skater on the ice. It's very risky so you generally don't see it unless it's the end of the game and the team is desperate for a tying goal
Please check out Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby Junior careers. Until undeeded Crosby is still the KING. Also check out Shane Wright, the projected #1 pick in 2022. also, Pavel Datsyuk being selected 176, meant that the GMs believed there were 175 players better, BIG mistake. Bedard, McDavid, Crosby and Wright are all Canadians.
McDavid is so young, crazy stuff
Hello allure. Thank you so much for reacting to Mac Daddy. I've been an Oilers fan since I could walk. You are so awesome. Also would I be able to use this video on the Oilers fan page on Facebook? If so awesome
You are not wrong. He is not a puck hog. Coaches tell him to shoot more pass less
i like that you do research before watching the video
you analyze and breakdown hockey highlight's better than my friends that actually watch hockey, the average hockey fan can not articulate the degree of difficulty that these plays are the way you do
Detroit Redwings you can look up history, longest capton in pro sports, and so many other stuff look up Fighters of Detroit Redwings. Detroit Redwings where one of the frist 6 pro hockey teams. And Detroit now doing so grate but I seen them stay on top up the NHL for 25 years top off trips.
You should look at Austin Mathews.
Do highligts with PK SUBBAN, one of NHL best defenseman and Henrik Lundqvist who also is one of NHL best goalkeeper. Great videos!
I'm from Edmonton and its honesty sad how bad we do when he's on our team
Teams will sometimes pull the goalie to get an extra guy on the ice. To answer your question.
React to goaltender Jonathan Quick. He’s one heck of a flexible goalie....
So, #99 Wayne Gretzky is considered the greatest offensive machine hockey ever saw. He was a scoring machine. He wasn't big, nor fast, nor was he considered a gifted skater. But, despite all that, he was unstoppable b/c his hockey IQ was off the charts. Bobby Orr, also arguably the best ever, dominated b/c he was a phenomenal skater. Connor McDavid has the attributes of BOTH of the above. Probably the most naturally gifted player, already, now he just has to win championships on a shitty team.
He’s 22 and the best player in the World........
Connor is just the newest superstar but he has a ways to go to catch the legends of hockey. Probably never catch the Great One Wayne Gretzky. Pick a team and start watching, hockey is a beautiful sport. Playoffs take everything to another level ,there is nothing like the Stanley Cup playoffs it is the hardest trophy in sport to win.
I had a friend recently go to a game. I will definitely watch a few games and check full games out. thanks
He can execute faster than anyone but there are some flashier players than him. Patrick Kane and Pavel Datsyuk for example.
I had one of them on my list and I'll add the other thank you
This was 1 years worth of his career.. the Edmonton Oilers did not make it to the playoffs that year. He was clocked at 30 KPH as well so he is very fast on skates. He doesn't hit often but is like a truck when he does. The McMatthews thing at the end was a troll.
Fastest player in the NHL today.
Hockey fan here to answer questions
aaronl19 Was Bobby Orr hurt when he landed?
aaronl19 what’s gretzkys favourite shampoo
Hahahah when you said wow they’re a good team or they look like it. Lol McDavid is the whole team. They only score when he’s on, either he creates his own chances or does all the work and gets his team easy goals. He plays with one guy named draisaitl and they play really well together. That’s what you’re seeing that’s who he keeps passing to, they have good chemistry, but the rest of the team does not exist and shows up about once every 4 or 5 games :) lol I try watch because of McDavid but the team is incredibly painful to watch!
that's painful but true
Very true today but the video she's watching are from 2016-2017, the year the team made the playoffs and finished second in the division.
When it comes to hockey you should check out Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Bobby Orr. Top 3 players of all time imo.
He is called Mcjesus for a reason lol
