AI: Retrieval-based-Voice-Conversion
I made a voice model of Lain using all the available material of her speech from the anime Serial Experiments Lain. I based it on the original Japanese dub of the anime, where Lain was voiced by the actress Kaori Shimizu. You can check out two voice models below: v1 - singing and v2 - talking (can’t sing).

the anime op itself is sad, with this AI cover it really makes lain feel alive, its unreal and sad at the same time.
Had a discussion with a friend about this anime. Told him we are in an age where Ai generation is getting interesting and I mentioned they could potentially remake this anime where every other character is written normally, except for Lain, who's interactions and experiences are created using AI generated script that is sequentially and segment fed the scenes and scenarios from the manga/anime in an attempt to see if a similar outcome to the original run can be created with actual A.I.. Kinda a dumb thing, but thought it was interesting.

That's because it literally is the original song with a lain filter on top.
That's what ai does basically.
It takes a pattern, it applies something on top. You teach them what the pattern is and and you teach them to know what is it that you want to put on top and it does that.
Nothing special compared with what it could be dude.

Also the cover turned out mid. Voice isn't trained well or something. But idea is good.
it's the actual sample they used for singing. if it were a pure singing audio from the real singer she'd sound a TON better. it's just the nature of these ai's and the likely ai split audio's they feed them.

Now that I'm listening closely to your versions I'd like to tell you something. Your ai covers made me watch lain, for which I'm forever grateful. Moreover, this summer has been a bit grey at times, and this songs have made the grey a lot more bearable and clear so to say.

How did you do that?
I used all 5 hours of speech material from Serial Experiments Lain to create Lain’s voice model. Since existing neural networks for voice conversion are not very good at producing high-quality voice, I had to combine different Lain voice models that I created with various repositories to achieve the best result
