Making A Concrete Ramp At Our DIY Skatepark : Then Skate It
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- Here is some raw footage of our community pouring a DIY concrete ramp.
There have been many hands involved at our DIY spot, but a big person behind this project was Chris Burke. Our friends at Artisan came out with the truck/pump and shot it. We had help from our friend at Grindline. It could not of happened without all of our friends here in Richmond and surrounding cities that came out to help :) Thanks to every single person who has been contributing to projects like this in the past. I can’t wait to get my hands dirty on the next project with all of you.
Thanks to Pat Lowery for dealing with me putting a camera in his face :) He has always been a huge part of the community here.
I love skateboarding and all but this edit was just so calming and made skateboarding such a beautiful thing to watch
A beautiful thing, those little squiggly skittering human-ants
Skateboarding is art
reminds me of the first time i played minecraft. super chill music while building a sweet house, and then night rolls around. my sick a f house was blown up by some monsters
What he said…
🛹 genuinely I was really impressed great editing and excellent skateboarding a winner for me iv subbed 👌🏻👌🏻
Its impossible to articulate my appreciation for the fact this video wasn't filled with generic dubstep.
ok
instablaster.
Wab wab waaaab
This was so beautiful to watch! I love the edit and the music 🖤
Thank you so much :) !!
ok
i love that your diy park is better than a lot of skateparks out there. props
The Minecraft ambiance in the end plus the smooth skating was so calming
tight build but dude needs to be wearing a dust mask spraying that
and maybe some safety glasses lol im a finisher tight vid though
Yeah that shit must do wonders on the lungs after a decade in the industry.
It's wet not dusty. Eye protection the only thing really important. And really it won't damage your eyes just burn like a mofo.
Concrete finisher 4 years.
Also it hurts to watch these guys use their trowels backwards and fail to give it the scraping motion it requires to fill holes like you see here: 7:29
Edit: to add time-stamp
@@RandoManFPV I believe that it's wet, but is there still no risk of inhalation? I'm obviously uneducated here, but it looks like a fine mist filling the air that would require you to wear a respirator. Is this not the case?
@@MrKlukie man I'm from Arkansas and I've never done Shotcrete.
Ill tell you rn that the companies that provide the mix/equipment or labor will tell you that you have to wear one.
But if I were doing it I'd be this guy too. No mask no special P.P.E. but that just how I roll, I finish regular concrete bare foot, grabbing what needs grabbed with my bare hands, whereas most people tell you, "oh don't let that get on your skin it'll chemical burn you".
Idk man maybe I'm a dummy but that's just how I learned to work, and by having that mentality of "don't be a puss just get in there and man your way through" I outwork most around me
I watched the whole thing again. From the flow of the park to the people shots to the music...so thoughtfully done. I'd love to visit some time.
this was so dope to watch. The level of hard work and detail is amazing. It looks like such a sick place to skate. Props to all involved
🤜🤛
Man i sometimes take for granted how much work goes into making these concrete beauties. Good job mates.
I’m completely fascinated with the way that concrete sprays out and how adhesive it is. Great choice in the music fills as well. Such a cool, relaxing video!
I’ve just been watching both this and the garden ramp build whilst editing images at work. It’s all so mellow, love it!
So proper, is this even DIY at this point, so professionally done!
yo and the dog skating down the bump 😂 hell yeah. its so dope to find Richmond on youtube without meaning to after moving away to illinois. and swyers skating to Satie? thats just nice
Erik Satie is a wonderful pianist and this was a great song choice. Great video! I wish i had a community like that growing up. My friends and I would've loved that
Awesome work guys! That is a seriously impressive DIY skate-park. You should all be very proud of yourselves x
Such a tight groove dude. Solid skating!
Sick video! Love how much footage you have of the building process. From the shot creteing, rough leveling with the quarter pipe template, finishing the concrete, final screed. Great for others that want to do a diy put dont know the process. Would love to see a video of excavation, forming up and tieing the rebar. Inspirering stuff!
Glad you liked it! And I hopefully will make some videos with the whole process soon. Its fun to build, and film :)
@@swyers So rad man. Most diy videos skip a bunch a crucial steps in the concreting process or are super ghetto and the people making them dont really know what they are doing. Yours is really detailed and the finished ramp looks mint!
This was awesome to see. Such a calm and smooth vibe. You guys did a amazing job.
Beautiful film people! The Satie went perfectly and the skating was solid!
Dope mate! Seeing Steve Crandall was a pleasant surprise.
He always makes a session better!! 💪💪
Im glad i wasnt the only one that noticed him
This video is pure art. Thank you so much for the beautiful music and editing, it really told an amazing story. From the hard work, craftsmanship and friendship in the beginning, to the beauty, elegance, and joy in the end....
i'm high and this video made me want to cry ngl
Sad music playing”
Unfortunately this D.I.Y skate park is now infested with scooter kids
R.I.P to skater boys
Hahah! They’re everywhere now
there certainly wouldn't be that many skateparks around if the skaters didn't make an effort as they do to build them themselves on the one hand, or organize themselves in groups and force them off the municipalities and cities. the scooter kids are like scavengers benefiting from their efforts. Damned kids. Skateparks are not playgrounds. 😤
texas beach does?
@@Jb001jb agreed, some of them are cool (not the little kids though, they suck)
oh no OH NO oh nonononono
You and Burke skating to Satie really making my day.
Satie and skateboarding..
Perfect.
Jazz was a perfect choice =) very relaxing while watching that 'crete pour.
Awesome job guys. And it was super cool to see a few women on the job props to them 🤙
Absolutely fantastic lads. I'm so stoked see that level of community love and such a great job too. Super smooth. 🇬🇧 UK vibes x
The dog is the best skater in this video =)
This is probably the most relaxing skating video I've ever seen. And that ramp looks awesome!!!
Very lucky community to have these guys around
I love how this is hand made with love and care and not a cast piece of concrete
I was stoked to click on this DIY ramp build, was even more stoked to see a guest appearance by the man himself Steve Crandall!!!!
He is the man!!
It’s cool to see how far Texas Beach has come, appreciate you guys
Thanks! Hopefully I’ll film everyone on the next one 😀
Transition looks perfect
As a concrete pumping video enthusiast i must say this is awesome!

Build more skateparks. Much love great video.
I loved every second of this. Thank you.
Pat does some amazing work!
That is a fact!
It doesn't look like ice cream at all. Bwahahaaaha! All joking aside, this was an excellent video. Great vibe. Great content. The spirit and feel of skateboarding. Just got back from skating a concrete park. As always, my son and I skated up we busted enough to give up and go home. On Monday, he starts summer skate camp. He's 8 and this year's goal is to drop in on some bigger stuff at the park. Daddy's goal is to stay alive.
PPE EVERYONE, also this music was quite phenomenal...
This is so awesome and makes me so happy seeing it skated so beautifully in the end
beautiful to watch. thanks
Cool DIY edit. Dude shreds too.
this was an amazing random find for me. keep it up!

Great build! 🙌 Perfect music selection 👌
makes me wanna start skating
I love the Gymnopedie 1
amazing job guys i wish i could be there with you.
Dude had no respirator on while shooting the concrete 💀🤦🏻
respirators are for Europeans.
The chemical in gunite fuckin stink aside from being harmful
Sheesh the guy at the top with the board or the guy with the hose who you think is inhaling more lmao
@@jonvia no most of the world trys to avoid silica dust. That 20 min spray is like breathing in asbestos for 5 years
The concrete was wet
I wanna skate that there ramp. That hip looks awsome good work.
The music had me
You know the song in the first minutes?
found it: ua-cam.com/video/S-Xm7s9eGxU/v-deo.html
