Items with UUIDs - Apparently, this isn't just a legendary rarity thing, alot of items do have UUIDs that aren't legendary too, although it is much more common in higher rarity items for obvious reasons.

This glitch was never actually do-able on Hypixel Skyblock, it was possible in UHC Champions as you can see in this video by Fruitberries • "Rewriting" Hypixel UH...
Banners - Hypixel doesn't actually run on 1.8.9, rather it runs on 1.7.10 and uses alot of plugins to implement features that arent normally in 1.7, like prismarine and guardians. Banners are a feature in 1.8, not 1.7, and I assume the Hypixel developers never coded banners to work on a 1.7 server due to the huge complexity of all of the item data a banner has, with the only exceptions being the decorative banners used in a dungeon room and on Oringo's hut, which would also explain why they can't be crafted.
When players did obtain a banner, the telekinesis enchant likely didn't copy any of the banner's data and made it a basic black banner, to which there would be nothing hard coded in Hypixel's plugins to deal with this on 1.7, effectively making it an invalid item with an ID that doesn't exist. When you hold this item in lower versions, the game doesn't know how to render it and will throw a bunch of OpenGL errors which ultimately causes all other rendered parts of Minecraft to render incorrectly for whatever reason.
The reason players in higher versions (1.13+) can hold this item is that the way Minecraft deals with item IDs was completely changed and instead assumes all invalid items to just be stone, so nothing weird happens, whereas older versions did not have this fallback.
To recreate this glitch, I loaded up a 1.16.5 server with the ViaBackwards plugin, which is a plugin that allows older versions to connect to new servers, and with some help from @musava_ribica, I slightly modified the plugin so that magma blocks would have no code to make them work on lower versions, so that magma blocks would behave exactly like the glitched banners did.

STEPS TO RECREATE THE GLITCH ON YOUR OWN SERVER!
1. Load up a Spigot 1.16.5 server
2. Download ViaVersion 3.2, ViaBackwards 3.2 and ViaRewind 1.5.2 (google the plugin names, should be easy to find)
3. Install 7-zip
4. Right click ViaBackwards 3.2 - 7-zip - Open Archive
5. Navigate to assets - viabackwards - data - legacy-mappings.json
6. Choose any of these items that you want to be the glitched block, then delete ALL of the data there, between the brackets and the number before it.
e.g. delete all of the data that looks like this:

7. Save the file, then click Ok on the box that pops up
8. Drag all 3 .jar files to the plugin folder of your server
9. Restart your server. Whatever item you deleted from that file will now become the glitched item. Hold it whilst you're in 1.16.5 whilst a friend joins on 1.8.9, and they will see the bug themself.

6:45 Quick correction, Hypixel doesn't run on 1.8, it runs on 1.7 (an admin has confirmed it in the past). The reason Hypixel is still running on 1.7 up to this day (but you can't join from 1.7 clients cuz 1.7 gives an advantage in PVP compared to 1.8) is simply because the admins were too lazy to recode everything for 1.8 and thought it was easier to add 1.8 features to their 1.7 servers themselves. Banners were one of those features since banners don't exist in 1.7. The admins never coded the banner item which is why it's so buggy. They only coded the placed banner block.

I got myself a dragon egg due to crystal hollows loot chest glitch and have it placed on my island to this date. I never got banned or wiped probably cuz i didnt dupe my echest items (i thought u can get only icons from it didn't know u could dupe ur echest items)

You can also illegally stack titanium talismans/ rings etc. Just like the jellow goblin egg, one of them gets removed.

i played skyblock before it was released cause i think the admins allowed players to join by accident for a very short time, since i joined, i was on the starter island, i broke some wood and completed the starter quests then i got kicked or i left i dont remember but then the skyblock icon wasnt in the minigame menu anymore

I love it when youtubers talk about things they know nothing about.
1. Banners, are, not, blacklisted. They never have been ever once in the existence of hypixel skyblock.
2. Not only legendary items have uuids, all nonstackable items have uuids like armor and other random stuff, even some common items have uuids
3. written book dupe never worked on hypixel ever due to the way they save islands
4. Netherwart pouch is no different from banners in the way they work and they were obtained by legit just buying it from the npc the first 20 mins of the farming update that added them

I think it does, a long time ago I spam bought god pots with bits and they stacked and when I went to my island I only had 1 (instead of the 3 that were stacked)
yesterday in the dungeon hub 23 there was a jerry party and someone literally spawned 200 villagers (before admins came and killed them all)
i've managed to get some items like purely vanilla armor/tools (no special stats/enchants) and even eyes of ender
however i've noticed that vanilla swords and eyes of ender tend to automatically 'fix' themselves when i hold them in my hand, just as if it caused some issues

The issue with banners is that due to the telekinesis enchant, the items you obtained was not a regular banner, but it was the placed banner itself, so you were holding a placed item, which is what caused all the bugs
nope, that's not true. it was an item that had data for a higher version, which for obvious reasons 1.8 couldn't determine what item it was. read the descrption

@@mezzimilku9711 nope, you just said that a material with id WALL_BANNER was placed within your inventory. You proved that you don't know the difference between an item in an inventory and a block placed in a world
@@Musava my point was that the wall banner item was put in your inventory, because of the telekinesis enchant. The telekinesis enchant was coded in a way that the item you obtain with it, by mining in this case, had the exact metadata as the item you mined, therefore making the telekinesis enchant grab the metedata for a placed banner, not a banner item/unplaced banner. (I don't know if it is how it works now) I know the difference between a placed and not placed item.
@@mezzimilku9711 obviously you cannot. There is no such item as wall_banner and if you /give yourself (in 1.12 or lower) a minecraft:wall_banner, it wouldnt work. You received the *item*, and your game was unable to recognize that it is a banner. The metadata was for a 1.13+ banner hence higher versions didnt crash. Skyblock attributing it as a WALL_BANNER is a whole another unrelated thing.

mojang never patched the book dupe you have to use spigot or a scustom plugin to patch it
There are more blacklisted items, not long ago I had one that was then deleted. It was a black glass pain that had no name that I could infinitely dupe. I don’t know if this could have been a way to get money as I never tried but as far as I know it was harmless
it was called menu glass and yes you could sell it to npc for a bit under 30 coins iirc

Actually there is another one...
I was playing hypixel in the Jerry island when I managed to somehow get a item that had a quantity of 0.
It was a head with the hypixel coin as a texture and had the name "head"
it wasn't a ghost item, I then picked up another item and the texture changed to a Steve head, but it still had a quantity of 0.
I took a screenshot and posted it into reddit, and someone suggested hanging it up on an itemfrane on my island. so still in the same Jerry insland, I held the item, and it disappeared. I chat messaged popped up saying it was blacklisted, and it was gone. I might still have the reddit post and the screenshot I took of the item in it.
EDIT: I for some reason deleted the post and I'm not sure why I did it. I can't still provide the removed post with the replies and the image if anyone requests it. I doubt it tho
