It won't be added to the store page at this time, but Jason and I have decided that buyers may specially request a Hexagon-1 with a Hexagon-2 central layer when purchasing one; just email him about it. We have attempted to contact the original creator of the Hexagon-1 about this, but thus far have received no response. Until then, a pure "Hexagon-1" will most likely not be added to the store listings.
Unfortunately it's a very long process to get something to be a WCA event. The puzzle would essentially need to have an active speedcubing community independent of the WCA, and that typically only happens with mass produced puzzles.
oof called me out there with the eitan's star bit. also, i took your recommendation and have been using onshape. I have even designed and printed my first puzzle, a very simple 1x2x3. I'm working on something a bit more complex now though!
I sometimes show my designs, but usually I do not. If you're interested in learning to design puzzles, I recommend searching on UA-cam for an Onshape puzzle design tutorial (Solidworks is also basically the same workflow). Here's an example of a tutorial that shows a real puzzle's design from start to finish: ua-cam.com/video/AGXIAaDXDTY/v-deo.html Lastly, if you have further questions about puzzle design, feel free to join the Puzzle Makers discord server: discord.gg/7kV7VyaSsZ

I have subscribed today (at 11 Jan 2024)
I really believe this is a much better core than the hex 1 .
And i would luv to see this version made with full corners.
Great work on this !

Great potential for WCA puzzles. This shape seems “speedcubable” 😅

That's awesome! Good luck with whatever you're designing.
There is a three-cycle on the smaz Time Machine cube that works on cubes like these
Would you consider making a tutorial video on how to create this in CAD? Would love to see the full design process start to finish
