      Great example that folks don't really know what the hell they are talking about when they put people down.
      Matt is brilliant. That doesnt guarantee wins and it doesn't guarantee the players will listen. He may have saved Siriani's job last year stabilizing the Eagles defense after they fired their DC.

      Completely agree, man. Can't wait for Bill to get another shot, break Shula's wins record, and be the first head coach to win a Super Bowl with two different teams. I genuinely believe he can do it, and, no I'm not a Bill Belichick nut hugger...

    • @173jaSon371

      @@dharrison9221 I am not sure if I agree or not and I'm a lifetime Pats fan since the year before Brady took over. No HC has coached past age 72, which makes me think it wasn't much of a coincidence that BB, Carroll, and Saban all left football at once.
      If anyone can break that barrier, Bill would definitely be the guy but it's an odd place to be for a franchise, committing a contract to a guy in their mid 70's. Brady had a really solid situation being able to go right to a team stacked with talent with bringing along Gronk and AB. The year before he took over in Tampa, Jameis turned the ball over 35 times if you include fumbles. Brady brought that down to 13 lol. What team could Bill waltz right into and go on a playoff run? Maybe the Bengals since he can patch together a defense so well?

  • @PatriotsVideos

    Similar to my "Nosey Press" defense I created in Madden 08. I had to have a Tackle over the Center just because the game didn't do a great job representing just how much space there is. But I would still have two Ts on either side. They step to the outside with the edge guys pinching in (spaced wide enough so it didn't compromise contain). So NT occupies Center and hopefully two LBs unblocked into the A-gaps. Obviously an extremely dangerous Cover Zero, but I'd press man hoping QB didn't have time to wait for them to get off the line. I'd usually take one of the DEs or LBs and try to play safety if I felt the pressure would still be hot.

    If you ever answer questions from here:
    -During his tenure with the Pats I noticed Corey Dillon would only carry the ball in his Left hand, even to the point of not being able to use his very effective stiff arm if the tackler was coming from the Left. Is that common among running backs, and if not, did you talk to him about it?
    -Everyone knows about the offensive explosion in 2007 when you added Welker, Moss, and Stallworth. But in Week 14 of 2006 Nick Saban's Dolphins shut the Patriots out. Over the next 6 games of 2006, including the Playoffs, you averaged over 33 points per game after averaging only 21.6 over the first 13 weeks - despite going against 3 of the top 7 defenses in points allowed and the SB champion Colts during that 6-stretch. Was there a philosophical change made after that Week 14 match up against Saban that helped set the stage for the explosion in 07?
    -Between 2001-04 you drafted 300lb D-linemen Seymour, Warren, and Wilfork as 1st Round picks. Was getting that kind of size always a priority due to what you wanted to do defensively, or was it just how it played out each draft? (You could even throw in 4th rounder Jarvis Green, who seemed pretty big for a situational pass rusher.)
    -Lawyer Millioy had a way of extending his arm at the shoulder after contact to add another level of punishment. Was this somewhat unique to Lawyer or can you think of other players who did this as effectively when tackling.

      @PatriotsVideos 3 дні тому

      Regarding the big D-Line 2004ish, everyone probably even you say it's a 3-4 defense, but isn't it really just a matter of Defensive Lineman Willie McGinnist being in an up position more often than not? If it's 3rd and long and Willie puts his knuckle on the ground instead of it hovering 6 inches above it goes from a 3-4 to a 4-3 with no change in personnel or alignment. Because though you don't mind Lawrence Taylor covering 1980s NFL TEs you don't want Willie covering Kelce on a seem route down the field. So it seems having 3 300 pound linemen starting every game allowed one of the DEs to take more of a LB role (if limited to underneath zone stuff). Even if you need to fill in with Tully - the other 3 linemen got the run.
