Thank you for sharing! As a massage therapist, many years ago I had my hands on a person from Kenya who had rarely worn shoes, and she was in her 50s or 60s. Her feet were strong and beautiful. You would never know the thickness of her sole by looking at her feet, but I could tell she had a good solid sole as nature intended. In almost 20 years of massage, her feet were, by far, the healthiest feet I have ever had my hands on!

I love your open frankness and sincerity. Thank you for sharing this. My feet are wide with a high arch, and I am tall, not often do shoes feel good past an hour or so, I am always barefoot at home (in wool socks in the winter for warmth) and my feet always feel so much better doing that. I also love to ground myself outside on the lawn to help with tension and anxiety. It works!

This makes my heart happy . As a little girl, i could run barefoot in the hills and creek banks as well as rocky terrain . But as i got older and felt the peer pressure of the fashion industry, my feet are so tender now as an adult. Thanks so much for this video. I literally was worried about your foot health, and now I'm in awe. Continued prayers for you and as always lots of love from Kentucky ❤

I've been on my barefoot journey for a year and a half, thanks to inspiration from you and others, I've been experimenting with making my own "shoes", mostly moccasin-style. I love the connection with the energy of Earth and never want to go back to synthetic shoes which block negative ions. sending love and light from NorCal!

@@javiermiguelmartinez8533 I feel great. My feet have gotten stronger. I still get sore walking through the woods for a long time or walking on gravel but practice makes perfect. I am mostly barefoot so I do wear flip flops when I need to go into a store most of the time (sometimes I don’t and people don’t seem to care) or if I have a formal event I will wear shoes. That glass you walked on is obviously safety glass. It breaks into pellet-like pieces when it breaks and is safe to walk on. This is the type of glass you will find in cars and porch doors. Regular glass will often break into slivers or shards with sharp points.

@@barefoot_James Thank you for teaching me about safety glass. I hadn't put that together in the moment. But it aligns with the message well because most people think there's so much dangerous glass out there, and most of the glass on the street is probably safety glass.

Plenty of people hike the Pacific crest trail with less than 10 lb base weight and 20 lbs total weight. You could tighten up your set up, get a backpack, and walk barefoot almost all the way (except snow). Yeah, the best ultralight hiking gear might not be totally ‘sustainable’. But an ultralight dyneema tarp would be way lighter than your tent. Or get a Durston X-Mid Pro 1 for a super light tent.

I am not always happy. The reason that I am sharing this is because it is dangerous for me when people think I'm always happy. Then when I'm not happy some people will take it personally as if they did something wrong, or come up with the story that it turns out the videos weren't the real me. I am a human being with a fluctuation of emotions.
However, I am indeed a very happy person and quite balanced.

Don't worry. They will adapt and strengthen more you walk barefood. Make it your daily habit and increase the exposure and time along the way. Every week a bit more. Expose your bare feet on different surfaces. Various types of natural and artificial surfaces. Cold, hot, chilly, wet, snow etc. Be always barefoot indoors at your home. More you do, thicker, stronger and more resilient your feet and soles become. Just keep it going and you'll be rewarded.
From the experience of Finland where half of the year is dominated by winter. 😅 As far as there is warmer than -5 degree of Celsius, I'll not have any excuses not doing this.

Doctor: Yeah, you are going to need stitches for those cuts... How did you cut your feet?

Rob you may need to take a break to let that skin toughen up. You shoes wore out so so can your skin. Find a host and take a week off.

interesting but that type of glass is designed to not cut us, its still a little sharp but no where near as dangerous as small sharp shards from a shattered glass bottle for example, you used really 'blunt' examples for these tests. Also i would argue that feet that have been in shoes are even more sensitive - cant walk barefoot very far when you first start doing it for that reason, im not really sure where you got the idea that you have more sensitive feet due to not wearing shoes, i feel you just kinda made that up.

My husband would not allow me to pick blackberries on the side of the road. He said they would have absorbed fumes from passing vehicles.

      Hello Dear Friend,
This question is part of the bigger picture of reconnecting to Earth through relationships with the plants.
I address this in my new book Food Freedom and I welcome you to read it!
The Foraging Resources and particularly "How to Safely Forage" section in the Empowerment Manual shares this.
