Chester was such a tortured soul; he expressed his demons through so much of his music so perfectly, but we will never know what he really was going through. “Numb” will always be my favorite - and is so relatable (more than we’d like to admit) for kids growing up.
The best line from Linkin Park, in my opinion, comes in their song "Numb." "But I know, you were just like me, with someone disappointed in you." Gives me chills every time. I hope you get to check out that video. It is powerful.

I liked this reaction. Even though they aren’t a Christian band, you listened with “Christian ears”. So you should react to Bring Me To Life by Evanescence.
It's interesting that you related this song to war and conflict. This song has a particularly powerful message to some of us who saw combat, not just in Iraq and Afghanistan, but in general. I remember listening to this song after I got back from Iraq and I was visiting my parents. My dad, a Vietnam veteran, listened to it with me and he was slapped in the face by the lyrics. Forgiving yourself for things you've done and moving forward as a new person. Those experiences will always be a part of who I am; that will never change. However, sometimes the universe talks to you when you need it to and that bridge where Chester sings "I start again, and whatever pain may come, today this ends. I'm forgiving what I've done" was incredibly important. No more trying to numb myself with drinking, forgiving myself and being willing to take whatever comes down the road. Chester healed so many people, which makes it so much more tragic that he couldn't heal himself.
I will always know this as the songs from Transformers.

I understand how you see a religious message there, but there is no need to invoke religious thinking to consider and look for redemption. Such things can come from those we love and wronged. For other LP tracks looking at redemption, check out "Leave Out All the Rest" and "Invisible"

When you listen to their songs and go back after Chester passed and pay attention, it starts to feel like an autobiography of his life. RIP Chester.

Love the reaction! I've been a huge fan of LP since the start and all of their songs can be interpreted in a lot of different ways for a lot of different people. Religious themes can be applied to a lot of their songs if you chose to interpret them that way. If you love this one you should check out the songs "New Divide", "Leave out all the rest" and especially "Hands held high" from Linkin Park.
This isnt even the hardest that they can go. Mike Shinoda and Chrster Bennington made a dynamic vocal duo. You don't hear Mike in this song, but you can guarantee that he had a lot to do with it.
Qwerty is probably one of their heaviest, vocal wise. Given Up, subject wise is heavy, if you choose to listen to Given Up, after Chester starts to scream, just dont pause or you will miss his 17 sec scream. I absolutely love Linkin Park. Their music has spoken to me and gotten me through some tough times.

If you’re looking more into Linkin Park, One More Light and Heavy are both deeply emotional songs. For the harder stuff, Given Up is definitely the craziest. IYKYK 😬
