Ali Nash Thank you. Been collecting it all my life and been very lucky to buy most of them new when the prices where semi reasonable. Thanks for warching
This is an astoundingly large collection. Thanks for sharing it with us! Have you thought about turning the individual bogies on the car-car connections on the Horizon Express into jacob's bogies? Assuming you don't have spare bits, you can do it with $4 worth of parts, and fill the gap in the undercarriage with another $1.30 per gap, and Lego is offering free shipping till the end of the month too.
hi. glad you like my collection. yes it is something i have thought about especially as i do find the magnets are not strong enough to pull the length of train. i also think it would run better as well as it does tend to derail a lot when i was making some of the other videos. just a question of finding the time lol
Tom Hadfield my friend has the same magnet problem with his Red rc lego train so he has used a 2x1 smooth black plate on the top and bottom of the magnet coupling and it works very well so I hope this helps
Wonderful collection!! There's something about Lego trains, I've never had much money, Buying a Lego train set always seemed like an extravagance when I was probably going to need a new washing machine or something, I've nearly bought one a couple of times and talked myself out of it, I like the cargo trains, Argos has the city cargo train for about £107 , I went for it! A couple of weeks later I bought the high speed passenger train, it was about £80 something around that, it would be fun building a Lego helicopter or something like that, but my Lego trains are kept fully assembled in my glass fronted cabinet!! They look great, I see them on eBay and things like that, but I may have the cash, but can't pay for them with PayPal and things like that!! Bummer!! Thanks for the upload!!!
Nigel Perren glad you liked my collection. i agree with you they are quite expensive especially when Lego stop producing them and bills do keep getting in the way lol. Argos do have some very good deals at times (price reductions & 3 for 2) but ebay is often the best place if you ask before bidding some people will accept cheques but would be easier if you did open a paypal account lol. Thanks for watching and good luck
Great Collection. WOW how much did that cost you, Probably a fortune! The collection really inspired me. I have the new LEGO RC trains but they don't have the same impact to me as the Beautiful 9V Locomotives and rolling stock. Again this is such a stunning collection it makes me want to buy more Lego trains! Well done.
Steve long mouth Hi Steve. Thanks for your comment. Ive been collecting them all my life so never noticed the cost but wouldnt like to think what it would be worth. I have got all the newer rc ones aswell but not found the time to build them yet
Were you able to put the 12v centers in 9v track? I've not been able to do that. Good that you kept multiples of sets as it makes for nice long trains. I sold most of my extras
yes the 12v straights slot straight in however the curves need a fair bit of work to fit. just been watching your video of lots of lego trains. think together we probably own them all lol. Thank you for your comment as i think they look much better pulling longer trains. let me know if you're going tonsell anymore lol
Honestly man, you shouldn't leave those tracks out in the rain. It messes up connection(even if u clean it), it rusts, it destroys the motors, and pickups. You're layout is really cool tho!! Also, how did u add the 12v inserts on the 9v track? Did u lift the plates up under the inserts by one plate? That's what it looks like to me
thank you for share your video with us!!!! you have an amazing Lego train collection 12v, 9v, and more, Are considering collect power functions Lego train sets to? or maybe they are not good enough in your opinion?
hello. thank you for your kind comment. all the trians i have collect through out my life but since the birth of my son i have not had the time or space to build and store the new trains but i have still bought them and are waiting to be built. i personally dont think I will like the new pf system as i will be constantly changing batteries so will probably convert them to 9v despite being told they are a better system.
Hi, sorry for the late reply. For some reason your comments were not published. Yes i have considered it and hope to do it this year so stay turned lol. Any recommendations or preferences on which train to start with?
Nice collection ! Good to see you invested in creating longer consists of several sets (or multiple copies of the same set). No pre-eighties trains though ? And : no Emerald Night ?
Thank you. I try and keep the trains looking as realistic as possible. At the time of this video I didnt have any trains before the 80s, and the emerald Knight was still in its box. Since then I have now managed to collect all the trains and most of which are show in some of my other videos 😁
supertruper1988 hi. thank you. the red careages are from lego set 10183. one of the many options from that set. as for the black hoppers they came from ebay as a custom build
A -MAZ-ING. What a great collection! When your 2 year old is old enough for college, that collection will surely pay tuition. That is, if you can bring yourself to part with it!
in this video the track is just a hybrid of 9v and 12v but in 1 of my other videos i have converted some rc track to 9v. and no sorry none is currently for sale
Wow!! I thaught, I had a big train collection - however, it seems, yours is even a bit bigger. Fortunatly not much. However you have quite more of the seldom, nice trains! How long did you take go carry all these trains?
Thank you. Glad you like it. I've been collecting the Lego trains for about 30yrs. I have atleast 1 of every set from the start of the 12v era onwards and now slowly collecting the older stuff (pre 1980s)
@@train-traum-madabouttrains5005 yes I am afraid I do now have a lot more trains than what I managed to run in this video. Mostly the newer sets and the older 1s. I don't know exactly how many cars I have but it must be well into the hundreds. Unfortunately they are all just stored away in boxes at the moment. I manage to get the out for a few Lego shows I do around the UK but hope to get them out either on display or on a layout by end if 2019 start of 2020. I'll then start to do more videos as my layout hopefully starts to take shape
@@robkennedy3000 unfortunately not yet. I bought a house end of 2018 that need restoration and its taking a lot longer than planned. However i have started to make the odd bit of progress. I need to build a shed for the layout and I have started to clear the land and work out where things need to go. Maybe by 2025 ill have something to show 🤣
Wow! I love it! I'm definitely jealous, but the good kind. You have a very inspirational collection. One question, how much time and effort does it take to get the 12v center-rails on the modern track? Thank you for being awesome! J Mac
J Mac hi. thank you. glad you enjoyed it. the straights fit very easily on to the track how ever the curves do take a bit of work. but nothibg a sharpe knife and a quiet evening cannot fix
My goodness! That was a quick reply! I'd love to do it, but I doubt if I can afford it! Maybe one day. I'd just be afraid to damage something, either the center-rails or my finger...
J Mac finger maybe but you would be unlikely to damage the track. you basically just need to remove two studs from underneath. but you are right 9v and 12v track is expensive now :(
J Mac i have done that with some of the new track from the new sets and it does seem to work fine. As for the 12v you only need to cut the plastic part of the track. if you have any 12v curves turn them over and 1/4 of the way in from both ends theres a small rectangular peice that sticks out half way across the underneath. they just need removing so the track fits smoothly on to the 9v/pf track
Bricky World. Thank you. only the track is left outside and the rain does not effect it that much. just needs a quick clean before the trains will run smoothly again
Jorian Boeve bought over a life time every Xmas and birthday for 20+years. Plus in the mid 90s Lego wasn't as popular and prices plummeted. Could never afford to buy it all today
Tom Hadfield very impressing take the metroliner as an example where i live it costs €450 or the mearsk train that one is around €400 here. And especily the 9v red lego factory train. That one is €500
Tom Hadfield and the most expensive is the lego my own train wich is around €850 here in the netherlands. Don't know what the prices are when you calculate it to dollars
Most of my 12v collection came from the Netherlands and I still pick up the odd bit from there. Probably my most expensive train (not in the video) is my 6 coach long emerald knight or the santa fe which I've seen go for well over £1000 (€1400/$1800) in the US but for me they're just lovely trains I can enjoy with my son. Glad you like them and enjoy your growing collection
Everything apart from the track gets put away each night. The elements doesnt really effect the track. some parts do get a bit rusty over time but doesnt take to long to clean
Василий Курганский mainly due to the length of track and weight of the train. They need to go quite fast on the straights inorder to make it all the way round
Shobha Rani I get very wet lol. Only the electric controllers and motors need to be put away which only takes a few seconds. The track is ok just needs a quick clean afterwards
I might be if I sold them all 🤣 Just be fortunate enough to have grown up with them, buying them when they were being produced and not years later at inflated prices and having some luck buying second hand stuff.
I admire your ability to keep such a complete and custom collection together with a toddler.
We've had a few mishaps over the years but as hes grown up with it hes learnt to respect it and is very careful
And I thought I had a lot of trains... Nice collection!

diecast jam except when its a passenger train the the whole feel goes away
