The level of darkness can be adjusted in the settings menu. I cut the default in half and it's light enough to see what your doing, but still dark enough so you know it's nighttime. 👍
45:00 Usually the engine wouldn't have a hot box because it didn't have the same oil and wick bearing the stock and tender has. The trucks, maybe, but not the drivers.
There's several different types, some use cellars that are similar to cars with an oil bath and packing, others have pressure feed oilers and others used grease cakes. You can definitely have a hot box on an engine.
ever feel like there's too many similar projects going, few if any of which are going to survive? I see a new train game, I just wish everybody was putting all the work into Derail Valley or something.
It really is fun the way it is. But it really depends on your play style. If you are looking for more of a dispatcher simulator you won't find any better. If you are looking for the most realistic steam simulation ever made, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for conductor simulator and are more interested in making sure cars get to their destinations and get switched out correctly and aren't too concerned about being in the cab, drop everything and prepare to call off work for the next two days. And if you're looking for something you and your train nerd friends can mess around in, it will do that job very well. I would recomend this game cautiously but if you like trains and can ignore an inaccuracy here and there I'd confidently say go for it. And to close I do genuinly believe the team is serious about the game and it really doesn't feel like a pump and dump like many other games do. I think there is a bright future for this game
@@OleandersGamingEmporium How do you get the two steam loco AI's on the twins to work so seamlessly? I have to knock off the brake on one loco manually to get the two AI's to work
Instead of this garbage how about they make the map scene transfers smoother, valve gear exhaust and get the sound to be better. Add buildings and people. SIngle players have enough on their plates to go adding more minutia to the game. Not my cup of tea. Happily you can turn this nonsense off in settings. Change that and lose players. Have 650 hours in the game. Just sayin'.
Only way the transfers get smoother is hiding them with a loading screen. That’s a hardware limitation. For it to be seamless, you’d have to have the whole map, assets, textures, and objects all cached, which isn’t realistic for 95% of the player base.

A really cool feature I’ve been looking forward to. Now cabooses aren’t completely useless.

@@confuseatronica train games have always been niche, it always comes in waves then dies off for a while. But at least they all aren't the exact same.
is it worth getting atm or should i wait for a few more updates?
I would say its worth it.
@@OleandersGamingEmporium cool ill give it a shot

100 percent worth it. I love this game.
So this, or Derail Valley?
Hi not good at doing this but how do you install strange customs and put the mods on. If you can do a vid on it that would be great
@@tonyveness7037 you will need railloader, then you just drag and drop it into the mods folder
ok thanks I’ll try that.
Does the baggage car in Sandbox do anything yet or is it still useless?

so are these mods on the game or another site
You can find them on the discord or on nexus.

It's night time in game.

The game is early access, you can also turn off hotboxes, oiling and wear and tear in the settings.
