This is so helpful. Thank you Krista for posting this and I'm taking notes on your questioning choice. Also thanks to the Ros Emely for giving permission for this to be shared.
Thank you for posting this video! Ros Emely, your presence and vulnerability = courage has really helped someone like me who is just beginning and exploring life coaching. You are inspiring! 💕
Thank you this was very helpful. I'm new to coaching working with my practice client. Tying to understand how to apply the concepts I learned. I feel overwhelmed, like I'm fumbling in the dark trying to figure everything out, especially asking the right questions to capture information without giving advice.
I totally understand what you’re saying with feeling overwhelmed- most new coaches feel that way in the beginning when learning this new skill set ❤ Have you gone through coach training yet?
This was very helpful! What good questions you ask! I love that you told her that her future self seems very wise. I am wondering how this sweet coach Ros Emely is doing now, one year after this session took place? I hope she is thriving at this point!
Thanks for sharing this! As a coach I'm about giving honest feedback. Not sure how someone can go from being 5 out of 10 confidence to an 8 from a short conversation with a coach. Confidence comes from getting real results with clients and it takes time. She probably needed a reality check to understand this.
They can go from 5 to 8 in a single session. It is how they feel about the outcome. I Have been doing this for a while and I realised quickly that when I take them through their own strengths, and courage - their eyes light up, chin opens up and face glows. They are now imagining limitless possibilities. This alone can get them to and 8. We then work with them to set an anchor that can trigger this feeling when they want. This way accessibility is also there. Finally set goals. So yeah results can get you to 8 but owning your strengths and experience can get you there too
Great question Evette! During a coaching session you want to practice active listening t/o the session. Occasionally you’ll use mirroring, summarizing and paraphrasing as a way to show the client that you’re hearing what they said. Does that help?
Everyone has cold feet when its new. If you have been trained properly snd have done one on one coaching while in school, I would hope you would be more confident. Dont over think it! Its a process.

That’s great feedback Anna! I always welcome your thoughts. Curious- what led you to watching this video?

Are we suppose to just repeat what the other person says but in a different way? But not really give them an answer? Just a bit confused :)

Exactly!!! No ill intended feelings for the coach person but I was like I wasted my time watching this video. What the heck

I don't see this kind of coaching is helpful at all.
