Engine failure caused by Diesel Bug. Cleaning the diesel tank.

We encountered engine failure off the coast of the UK, and had to be towed in by the RNLI. Upon inspecting the diesel tank, it was discovered that there was a large amount of diesel bug that had clogged the fuel intake. This is how I cleaned the tank of this Westerly Discus and treated the diesel bug to prevent further growth over the winter.

Thin steel wire cheese wire/ guitar string ideal for breaking the seal saves risking bending the inspection cover. Ps love the description of the sealer!

Grim! While I don't think I have any issue with the bug, I am certain there is some sediment at the base of my aging fuel tank as felt when I measure the fuel level using my trusty wooded dip stick. Not a job I look forward to, but an important one indeed!

Fantastic video. Any deisel bug would be afraid to go anywhere near your tank now.
But, that accent of yours. Do I detect a little bit on Northern Ireland in there? And a little bit of Canada, maybe?
