- It has been over 2 months since you last saw my red Escort Mexico and there has been a huge amount of work carried out in that time. Overall the car has a very solid chassis however there was some cosmetic updates required as I detailed in my first video with the car that has now been carried out along with some choice visual modifications that harp back to my mums original car in 1996 that I learned to drive in....

Great job I used to have a mark 2 escort 1992 it was a 2 door red one
I remember it I enjoyed it
I still cant believe this is what ford came up with for the 25 year anniversary of the escort mexico. If you put this next to the mark 1 and 2 it would really show how awful it is. But i totally appreciate your reasons for loving it with the history you have with this particular model.
I like that car very much because it is so reliable.
Ford Escort RS 1600i .
worst car ford ever made rined the escort brand
Yes Jamie. Amazing collection and so glad you decided to keep it. Your attention to detail really is something to behold...... 👌🏼
Where did you get the replica dealer number plates from ?
Happy Chappers I second that!
You have a cool collection, brought back quite a few memories of my own Fords "of yore" :-) back in the day - Fiesta 1.4S, XR2 Mk2, Fiesta RS Turbo, Escort RS2000 Mk5, Probe 24v, Escort Cosworth, & my present Focus RS Mk2 & Fiesta ST Mk7.5 - yep I like my Fords like yourself :-)
Excellent love the passion & the detail on all the motors you have well done. 👍
It's really nice to see a more ordinary mk6 Escort being restored and cherished. That car is probably a rarity already. Always liked the mk6 - when I first saw one in 1995 I thought that it was the best looking car Ford had designed for a few years.
I love the older ford's great video keep up with the good work
Love your videos and your attention to detail is amazing., I bought the Steve saxty book the last time you plugged it 👍 keep up the good work ❤️
From a 96 RS2k owner in County Antrim, keep up the good work👍
I love your passion of this Ford sport range !
Wow looks stunning and very very clean 👌
Love all ur cars ! Very nice 👍
Hi, how do you get hold of original dealer plate backings?
Cheers
Matt
Loving your videos as a life long Ford fan and former tech. now running my own business selling mainly Fords' , keep it up please!!
Is the front bumper smooth it looks different to the rear? Standard they was textured like the rear front looks smooth for some reason. Looks nice now would be tempted to leave the alloys though I do have a set of steels for it if you're interested
Jamie love the colour coded folders😎
gtechniq c4 permanent trim restorer is the best for unpainted plastics. The autofinesse stuff doesn't last and can streak when it rains.
Looks a minter of an escort keep up the good work great videos. Who do you use for the dealer plates and stickers ?
I can remember in 95 there was an advert on the radio that kept popping up for the Escort GTI at my local Ford dealer. I remember it because it caught my ear because it sounded strange not being a Golf or Peugeot 205.
Looks well
I had a Mk5 standard escort as my dj car to leave outside clubs
My dad bought it new in 1992 did 260k miles that car before it rusted away
I remember those fast ford articles about the mk6 mexicos, I got a lot of mk6 brouchers a few years ago off ebay dirt cheap now they have shoot up in price... Mex is looking very nice,,,
I have got a couple of pairs off foglamps knocking about for a mk6 escort
Looks so tidy! 👏🏼👌🏼
Superb condition, rare condition most of these rusted to bits and long gone. Lovely colour, still not a great lover of this year facelift though. You've done ford more credit than they did and I admire your passion fords.
US and Asia got a very spry and durable Mazda-based Escort when equipped with twin cams while Europe got a very conservative but solid looking car which had a great engine in the 2000 unit in the RS2000. I don’t know which one I like better.
Hi! I also have an Escort mk7 here in Brazil, where did you buy the parts?
It looks mint
Looking good 😁
The car is looking really cool.
Did you know where to find the keycode sticker? Is missing one of them in my mk6 escort.
www.dmb.uk.com/prod/781/ford-radio-keycode-decal
So hard to find any of these cars that aren't rust buckets great vid and great channel 👌
I miss my 1600i lx on a k plate. I shouldn't have got rid of it, had many a good holiday in that...
How do you insure so many cars? Is it a multi car policy or a specialist kind of thing? Love the vids 👍🏻
You legend x
Hi , I love your attention to detail, and I get the mexico thing, ( Need an 1.8Si to complete the collection), but that door graphic on the Mex doesn't do it for me. I get why, but just not OEM enough for me. Great channel, Best wishes from Sector 5, Bucharest..
Lovely lovely car. As great as all the Rs and Cosworth are - the standard models are just as important and in many ways will be far rarer in years to come. You can't beat re - living the good times of youth and the cars that your parents had. Do you have a link to where you get your dealer spec plates from? They really set the car off. 🙂 👍
honestly linseed oil is the best thing io ever used for black trim, put it on and go around the car then repeat and it will literally take the plastic from grey back to black and it lasts for months, done mine in april still looks good in november
Jamie I wish my wife had the same passion as you she loves her Escort gti but not like you do . But she will not give it to me thank you for the videos
Lovely bubbly
Genuine mint looking car. although Standard seems a good choice to address to the few rather than the mass, drop the suspension or replicate the wheels to a bigger size. Guaranteed a head turner.
My thoughts as I worked on many of them, irrespective Superb.
Car looking fab Jamie 🤙 Not too keen on the door graphics, But I am probably just more into original cars! Just an old fart! Lol
You should get it C
ceramic coated on your Escort Mexico
Sadly smashed my first car, 94 Orion/Escort on a roundabout while saving up for an rs turbo transplant! Blessing in disguise really, would most likely have crashed it after spending another £3k on it 😭 Loving the mk5 content 👍
😍
Hiya, lovely car and it's nice you brought it back to its original glory, the side graphics spoil it a bit in my opinion but I understand why you have done it , 😁👍
If you need a driver for the cozzzie am free any time 😉😂
Sooner have a MK1,2 Escort Mexico
✌️🌈😃😍
I love your rs2000 and escort cosworth but i don’t think this car is anything special as it was just a bog standard escort with mexico stickers unlike the real mexico mk1 and nk2 which were proper rally bred specials ...
That taint a Mexico
@Jambo . don't know but I do know it ain't a pushrod...
@Jambo use absolutely correct, it ain't a me-hi-co, cuz it don't, an I aw-wayz thawt it did. Even eyes wrong sometimes. The whole point in calling it Mexico was in recognition of the fact it won the México rally, having reliability in mind, with a lowely pushrod, crossflow, overhead valve, chv lump.
You have some nice cars in your collection, but come on!!!!! The MK5 escort RS2000 and the the MK6 Escort Mexico was an embarrassment to the oval badge, a desperate bid to sell some Escorts.... you have an escort cosworth, a proper RS, why would you buy these???
My biggest regret was selling a genuine MK2 RS Mexico S plate 1978 completely standard. That was an amazing car, that was when the Mexico name should’ve died.
