    Can i have SSgt Stevens' contact info? Or social media? I would like to talk to him about cross training into SERE

    This may have been indirectly covered, given he said there are Reservists in the field, but:
    I’m prior service, about 9 years Active Army, ETSd Aug 2015. I’m considering joining Air Force Reserve (or Guard?) and am interested in 1T0xx.
    Is this combination possible?
    Thank you

      @@texantorque so I have one year of college left. If I only wish to do SERE for 4 years, would it be possible to finish it while I'm active? Or an I better off using the gi bill?

    Currently Security Forces and CATM, is it possible to be both S.E.R.E. Sp. and CATM.

      How do you like Catm?

      Robby hello Sir
      Is okay. get to teach, shoot a lot and when we have folks that don't qual at 1st but then you pull them aside and then they almost shoot expert its a good feeling. CATM is going down a cool path. But I miss being out alone in the mountains/woods/swamp sleeping on the ground.

      Scott Stewart how long into the career field until you can do catm?

    • @scottstewart3398
      @scottstewart3398 5 років тому

      Couple ways this can be done. You can 1) go right into CATM as your MOS or wear two hats one for Security Forces and one CATM (but you'll be busy with upgrade training for both)
      2) if PJs, CCT, TACP, JTAC if they need CATM you can try to get in with them as CATM.
      3) we had an A1C put on his Sea while in CATM so get at least 3 level done.
      The CATM training was a huge disappointment for me. I was expecting to take weapkns apart literally for 8 hours but it wasnt the case. But once your "graduate" it's more fun.

      Was in USAF and CATM back before it was CATM. It was SAMTU (Small Arms Marksmanship Training Unit) and was under Operations and Training. It flipped over to CATM in the 1980s didn't it?

    Are all SERE specialists stationed at Fairchild?

    • @therealtiffanyz
      @therealtiffanyz 5 років тому +1

      No but that’s where we do most of our initial training. You will most likely be based there for your first 3 years but after that, there are plenty of places to be stationed.
