In this video we will explain what a hydrolocked engine is. Hydrolocked engine also is known as water seized engine. You may encounter hydrolocked engine even in a car that has zero signs of flooding. If you are buying a car and the seller says that all it needs is starter always make sure that the engine is not hydrolocked / water seized. We demonstrated what a hydrolecked engine looks like on this Dodge that was driven through high water. If taken apart immediately after it is hydrolocked you can easily rebuilt it, but if you let hydrolocked engine stay with the water inside it will rust and cause more damage.

Thanks for making this video. It helped me to see why I needed to get a new engine for my car when my wife drove into a small pond. The mechanic said the engine was locked. And now I see why.

@@bobertkallahan4392 To top it off my wife called me and because her English is not perfect, being from another country, she told me she was “under” water near our house, so I am driving my track loader to our two ponds to find her only to later, discover that it was down near a highway that had a shallow pond and she wasn’t underwater, but she left the engine running when she should’ve shut it off.

I believe I have hydrolock. I removed the spark plug bit pullcord is still locked. This indicates a different problem?

Come to India, This engine can be repaired pretty cheap here, The piston, valves and connecting road will be replaced, The head and valve seats can be grinded and made as good as new.
Not after shipping costs.
