Fully agree with this! I skimmed his wiki to get the strategy down before I fought him so I knew I could do it once, but after that I went "Can I talk to him again?" fully expecting him to be like "You can't pull that on me twice", only to learn that you can in fact pull that on him twice. Three times. Four if you wanna.

When I played, I didn't even realize White Angel was a boss/unique enemy; something about the way it teleported made me think there were at least two of them.
Great video as usual! I thought it was curious how you didn't mention that the god of Fear and Hunger skips turns if you have given items to the girl. I know that if you reached that point with the girl in your party you probably have given some items to her already, but it still is a nice detail, how this abstract being of pure fear and hunger still remember being human. Specially in a fight which is, as you rightly said, almost a glorified cutscene! Keep up the good work good sir.
Hello there! There is a reason I genuinely forgor to mention that, it only happens in earlier phases which are a joke nonetheless, so it went away from my mind! Surely that can give shambles to some people, but I'd still place her in B!
I appreciate how you also covered the introduction and first time encountering a boss. I never found the Cavemother until my second playthrough, because when I broke my legs, I figured it was a "bad end" that you're not supposed to do (at that point I didn't know how to heal them, so staying in that condition was tedious). I also never found the lucky coin that activated her fight, either. It would be really cool to stumble into the fight like you're supposed to. One thing that you didn't mention! Valteil's third eye also looks like a certain male organ. It gradually becomes more erect as the battle continues, which represents both his ego and godlike knowledge. It's very subtle, but it's a great piece of symbolism. For Tormented One, I figured out there was a way to create a husk because of meta knowledge: While I played on easy, Terror & Starvation makes you play solo, and you have to sacrifice a party member to complete the puzzle, so there just had to be an alternate solution. I think I found him generally difficult, but I applied fire to the wheels to defeat him more easily. Normally he hits pretty darn hard. I like White Angel's visual design. He seems neat. I didn't realize you can use soulstones on your party members to bypass some of the requirements for M'habre! That's very cool! I learn something new about this game every day. When I first went to the Void, I thought it was going back in time or the universe reset somehow. There's all this talk about cycles and the greater scheme of things, you think you ascend to godhood, and suddenly dinosaurs. My thought was "Does whoever ascend get to control the world from the beginning?". Obviously this was not the case, but it was what I thought. Also with the Greater Blight, it has a similar start to Nas'hrah's fight - several turns of setup while something big approaches, so I thought that was a neat similarity.
@@mouthwide0pen Yeah that's the one. Sorry. It's been a while since I played the original game and I only did it on the easiest setting and didn't fully appreciate what each difficulty was called. (I did play Termina on the harder settings since I knew what to expect)
I don't get the Francois fight. If the dev intendet for him to have this talk gimmick used throughout both phases, why didn't he give him more dialogue? It looks more like a glitch to me.
I think a way to improve the two head crowmler For certain characters Like D’Arce, Le’Garsde. One of the two heads would try to speak and try to remember who they were (If I remember the lord right that these two characters know the person before they become the best boss). With three way how it ends: One: they fail to bring the person back and it attacks more frequently Two: Person remembers who they are and stop attacking Three: They said bad things about it and get a attack boost and attacks more frequently

And I thought I already learned close to absolutely everything about Fear and Hunger from you but somehow I didn't know that yet... huh...
Man, the way you described the hypothetical first Cavemother encounter was way more sick and moody than how I found her first. My first fight with her went a little something like this: I entered the dungeon through the basement enterace, because the front door seemed like an open invitation to getting ganked by a beginner's trap (A-class paranoia right there, I know). By the time I got to the flesh-room, the switch in the prisons was already flicked ages ago, giving me one of those "oooh, so that's what it was about" moments. Descending the first time around, the Cavemother didn't ambush me, but I remember signs of it's presence being made known, which gave me a bit of tension. Continuing through the mines, I find Cahara once more and discover Le'Garde dead, so I decide to use the newly-opened loop back to the top to explore the front enterance more thoroughly. By the time I decide to go give the mines a second look-through now with The Girl recruited as well, I'm finally ambushed by the Cavemother. I tense up, as this guy looks like it means business. Thinking to myself "The thing was still suspended over the pit when the fight began, perhaps clipping it's wings will make it fall," my strategy was set. With the party-comp and equipment I had, the Cavemother didn't even get a turn in edgewise before it limped back into the darkness with it's metaphorical tail between it's legs. With a baffled "alrighty then," I continued towards the mine once more without ever visiting the cave for the rest of that playthrough, only finding out about the second round once I started seeing videos on UA-cam about it. A much more honest representation of the equivelant power-level of the fight, but nonetheless underwhelming. It's probably this limp first experience with it that it's only slot on the list I find myself actively disagreeing with. Perhaps the fight plays out more interesting on Terror and Starvation mode and the gnome-summoning is an interesting mechanic, but when push comes to shove, when the boss fight is almost as non-threatening as the mobs it summons, I feel like I'd rank it in B-tier instead, still keeping a relatively good position because of the creativity in it's presentation and fight as well as the gnome eggs leading into future fights.
Very similar how i jumped out in my seat and cheered when you had your first big appearance on conner's stream, me seeing you with your first sponsor made me flip out. Im proud of you man, you're growing!
8:30 Crow Mauler is a Pyramid Head reference in general, not just the behind the bars scene. His model looks exactly like PH except obviously the crow head and the mauler.
Valteil is always the encounter that comes to mind when the game gets brought up because of how hard it goes with that boss theme to the point where it's hysterical
Just wanted to say thanks again for your great Funger content. Really helped me from not knowing anything about this game 2 weeks ago from now, attempting to do the S Endings!
I dont know much about the fighting since ive only watched others play the game, but i love the god of fear and hunger purely for the story. im a big emotional person and the god of fear and hunger coming from the little girl you took care of only to watch her succumb to her only fate, not being able to make it out alive most likely no matter what is just PAIN and i love it for that.
I haven't fought every boss yet so I can't judge this tier list yet, but one thing I can agree on is that the Crow Mauler is an S-tier boss! I can't add anything you haven't already said about him except that his lore is awesome and reminds me a bit of my favorite boss from Dark Souls, Artorias the Abysswalker! Anyways, great video!
To be honest, cave mother is one of the most meh fights i've ever seen The first time I fought her I was playing as Enki with the girl and a Skeleton in my party, I just... Attacked her torso two or three times and she died, and in the second phase I just did the same again and she died pretty soon, its really underwhelming Skin Granny honestly Is way better as a Boss Fight, her design is pretty cool and the transformation really caughts you off guard, like yeah, its obvious that the frail old lady is only a disguise, but you don't really expect to see some weird amalgamation between the old lady and her tools Amyways, love your content and how much effort you put into them, probably one of the reasons I got into this game ❤

I always hated turn base combat so Fear and hunger deserves an award for making one of the most engaging combat system I've played in a long time within a system of gameplay I actively avoid playing lol Who knew turn based combat ended up working so much better in a survival horror setting than a RPG one
I honestly agree, I think the main thing that helps it is that there are no levels, so majority of enemies will never technically be eccessively powerful compared to you (as long as you loot stuff)
also there aren’t 3000 abilities to choose from which just fucking annoys me. I didn’t like turn based games until I found this one and now I have even higher standards I kinda enjoyed darkest dungeon, but it’s mostly because it’s almost as unforgiving, cruel and random as fear and hunger. I still suggest trying it if you liked F&H, it manages to be be very nerve racking for a game where nothing happens until you act
My theory on why you cant rip off the face of the marriage is becuz the marrige is contected my a ritual that the god of love created and the bond beetween the 2 who preformed the marriage is to strong for any limbs to be cut off
I genuinely cannot believe you forgot an entire bossfight. You have no clue how long I struggled to beat the door and leaving it out is just outrageous.
28:45 is acctualy quite easy to fight up to 3 of those flying fuckers per run, but you gonna need dash, en guard, and phase step they always flying in strait lines and loop in the map just like the player so just move in the oposite direction of it and if you hit a wall just use phase step, once the battle starts you can either play it save by blinding the head or you can just go madman to try heatshot it has bad evasion so a full party can kill this thing easy I enjoy killing all enemies in my runs and always end up fighting those dinos, is the end of the game and you already has acess to transmutation so you got infinite mind in this point

That effing flying blight crossed me randomly in my first time ever travessing the void. I figured out that hiding from the greater blight was a thing, seemed pretty logical. When I saw the pterodactyl I imagined it could be fought. I managed to recover my party and was looking to progress to the end game. My party was on their last push, we had basically nothing and we were on the brink of death, starvation and few torches. While passing through the area full of green hue pits, it suddenly confronted me and wiped my entire party in two or three rounds. Now that I know it is basically impossible to fight the damn thing, I am incredibly frustrated with the sheer amount of bad luck I had on that first time in the void.
To defend the Nameless here, we should consider it's completely decayed, repeating its lines in a loop. It's broken and flawed, so I don't think it's wrong for his fight to also be broken and flawed. It's in character. Almost makes me feel pity for it.
And that's the problem tho. A fight can be easy and proove that you're fighting a decaying opponent and STILL be special, have something unique that doesn't make it feel just a useless moment
@@frapollo94 Indeed, many alternatives could've been made, the fight is nothing special and disappointing indeed, just saying that at least lore-wise it makes sense to me. Would be good if the dev reworked it in the future though, something like the enemy crumbling in on itself as it fights you for example, would be pretty cool
First Iron Shakespeare impression was like: hell no, that thing must have big ass health and damage I ain’t fighting it Then I come back with full party and great equipment and see he dies to like 600 something damage to torso 🗿
I kinda think that Black Witch should be in tier B, at least for design. Also, it brutally punish players for doing the thing that the game previously persistently recommended you to do (attacking the armed hand) wich is a certified case of Fear&Hunger expirience.
Valtiel was one of the very few bosses I had to look up how to beat. It's cool and all, but there is actually A LOT OF RNG INVOLVED. The magic using half does MASSIVE DAMAGE, enough to one shot or two shot even a well equipped character. If he decides to only spam black orb, you're done for. Otherwise it's pretty fun and balanced. Yet having PRAY VERY VERY HARD as a main strategy bugs me in a bsd way
Regarding miasma, I think there should be some changes to the weapon like making it impossible to unequip, increasing the damage so it is on par with cursed claymore, and also make it so you can't fight the miasma door at all.
Miasma imo should be an event that can happen everywhere in every moment if you are low on mind, but that would require a lot of coding for 1 weapon I guess

I skimmed his wiki to get the strategy down before I fought him so I knew I could do it once, but after that I went "Can I talk to him again?" fully expecting him to be like "You can't pull that on me twice", only to learn that you can in fact pull that on him twice. Three times. Four if you wanna.
7:02 he saw the opportinity and took it, the absolute madman
huge balls Frapollo and great vid so far (poor Old Knight). Congrats on the sponsor btw
Thank you so much!
It's better to just aim torso
Imagine blasting aything with 2-3 shots of shotgun overworld and cheese almost anything
tbh the dismemberment mechanic is best used as a puzzle
problem with that is to make a puzzle for each enemy is very time consuming
@@thatlittlemonstrositytheres also the fact that Termina has a lot of farming incentives with stuff like pearls and heads/shards.
Changes nothing honestly though, I'm glad that black smog is getting nerfed because F&H is meant to be survival horror not just "press the busted spell and win"
That was a clean sponsor transition!
Thanks!
plumbo from the pointless cord?
There is something satisfying about seeing a channel grow to a point where it gets some impressive sponsorships. Keep up the good work, glad to be seeing your hard work paying off.
Maybe a little too harsh on a dominant new god. His preasent version acually tells you that you should taunt him if you ask him how to kill him. So acually you can pull the trick with him not attacking on your first time in blind playthrough
might be a small touch but I love the recreations you do, im a sucker for audible storytelling so it's just awesome. Great work! :)
Thanks I'm happy you liked them!
man I really love the "*title drop* IN FEAR AND HUNGER *intro*"
Thanks!
If it was a question of how much code was used to make them the scarab would be top by default.
In fact scarab was top!
I think i can count on one hand How many enemies I HAVENT defeated with the “aim for torso” strat in both games… albeit, i definitely have to restart those runs way more often in the first game due to careless damage taken 😂
Love the videos as always! Especially the Termina call out aha
ignoring dismemberment mechanic is a deadly sin, you should be arrested
it’s like playing slasher games only using guns or other ranged attacks, actual insanity
Another masterpiece from mi main man frap ❤
YOOOO BUDDY thank you so much for the support!
The granny might be the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Dive General Mahoraga.. will she finally adapt to the crits and DoT?
Me with D'arce, defensive posture, autism, and the reality totally alterated ready to spend my next 1:30h killing the Iron Sheakspeare:
That segway into the ad was honestly really really good
I appreciate how you also covered the introduction and first time encountering a boss.
Correction: T&S doesnt force solo, hard does.
F&H also isnt easy mode. Its normal. T&S is the actual hard mode, and Hard Mode is just a maso mode.
@@mouthwide0pen Yeah that's the one. Sorry. It's been a while since I played the original game and I only did it on the easiest setting and didn't fully appreciate what each difficulty was called.
(I did play Termina on the harder settings since I knew what to expect)
I’ve done many playthroughs by now and can say with absolute certainty that chambara is my favorite boss fight. Look forward to it every time
Hell yeah I can clearly see why!
If that ad was a punch, I'd be having a nap right now, because I absolutely didn't see that coming.
Glad you got some sponsors!!
I don't get the Francois fight. If the dev intendet for him to have this talk gimmick used throughout both phases, why didn't he give him more dialogue? It looks more like a glitch to me.
I think a way to improve the two head crowmler
For certain characters Like D’Arce, Le’Garsde. One of the two heads would try to speak and try to remember who they were (If I remember the lord right that these two characters know the person before they become the best boss).
With three way how it ends:
One: they fail to bring the person back and it attacks more frequently
Two: Person remembers who they are and stop attacking
Three: They said bad things about it and get a attack boost and attacks more frequently
As someone who's been watching you since... pretty close to the beginning. I'm so happy you're getting sponsors now! Frappuccino has officially joined the Big Shots! (of UA-cam)
So proud of you! You deserve every bit of success that comes your way!
@ the video itself, I had no idea the Skin Granny couldn't rip the Marriage's face off. And I thought I already learned close to absolutely everything about Fear and Hunger from you but somehow I didn't know that yet... huh...
Man, the way you described the hypothetical first Cavemother encounter was way more sick and moody than how I found her first. My first fight with her went a little something like this:
I entered the dungeon through the basement enterace, because the front door seemed like an open invitation to getting ganked by a beginner's trap (A-class paranoia right there, I know).
Thanks!
Amazing segway into the sponsor!!! I love it, you're cool
Thanks!
Just wanted to say thanks again for your great Funger content. Really helped me from not knowing anything about this game 2 weeks ago from now, attempting to do the S Endings!
you're my most favorite fear & hunger content creator. also very thankful for all the informative videos you do about this game and it's gameplay
Thanks to you for the support!
We need more jokey lists like say: who would be the most fun at partys?
damn congrutalions for getting a sponsor man
never thought that the/a Funger youtuber/community would grow that much in popularity
Thanks!
10:18 regardless... Le'gardless?!?
lol
Miasma used to be my fav, till I found out about cursed blue sin.
It's insane how frapollo was like 500 subs almost year ago, so proud of you bro
I love the way you talk, it's adorable.
Thanks!
To be honest, cave mother is one of the most meh fights i've ever seen
The first time I fought her I was playing as Enki with the girl and a Skeleton in my party, I just... Attacked her torso two or three times and she died, and in the second phase I just did the same again and she died pretty soon, its really underwhelming
Skin Granny honestly Is way better as a Boss Fight, her design is pretty cool and the transformation really caughts you off guard, like yeah, its obvious that the frail old lady is only a disguise, but you don't really expect to see some weird amalgamation between the old lady and her tools
Amyways, love your content and how much effort you put into them, probably one of the reasons I got into this game ❤
That sponsorship ad drifted in like it was Fast & Furious
Congrats on getting a sponsor my boy, that means you are up there! 😁
I'm so happy this man got sponsored it's just weird that every Italian UA-camr gets sponsored by surf shark like giopizzi gets sponsored every video by them 🤣
Frapollo you got me into Funger, so now I get to suffer as a way to unwind after work thank you ❤
You're welcome!
Frapollo94 don't know if you read these but found out about your channel from when you helped Connordawg on a stream, very knowledgeable and have such a soothing voice absolute god of fear and hunger just wanted you to know you got a subscriber
Thank you so much! Also yeah I try to do my best to read everything when I have time!
The nameless figurine is like that dude who wants to feel important just because he is nearby very cool people but he does not have anything interesting and just likes the attention in the end.
Let's GOOOOO frapollos getting sponsored! I love your content, I'm so happy to see you making progress
Glad to see you get sponsors now. A reward for your hard work. Keep it going.
Your segue from the Nameless Knight into the sponsored part of the script was brilliant, great video lol
29:18 “But you are forgetting something, this is my video”😂 loved this, so glad I’m starting to dive deeper into Funger. There are so many little tips and tricks that I would never have known
I honestly don’t know a lot about fear and hunger but I love watching your vids abt it! I’ve been binging the last few days
I love the accent, and I also loved the intro at the start very good editing
Thanks!
2:03 Be careful with that one, steam has been banning accounts for doing this.
I always hated turn base combat so Fear and hunger deserves an award for making one of the most engaging combat system I've played in a long time within a system of gameplay I actively avoid playing lol
Who knew turn based combat ended up working so much better in a survival horror setting than a RPG one
I honestly agree, I think the main thing that helps it is that there are no levels, so majority of enemies will never technically be eccessively powerful compared to you (as long as you loot stuff)
also there aren’t 3000 abilities to choose from which just fucking annoys me. I didn’t like turn based games until I found this one and now I have even higher standards
I kinda enjoyed darkest dungeon, but it’s mostly because it’s almost as unforgiving, cruel and random as fear and hunger.
Door is a major boss, not a normal boss lol
Thank you for the video, great to see sponsors with much better reputation ask you to make an add. Good luck in your endeavours)
Thanks!
You should make a stinger tier list next.
It makes me sooooo happy seeing UA-camrs like our boy gettinh sponsoreddddd!!!🎉
28:45 is acctualy quite easy to fight up to 3 of those flying fuckers per run, but you gonna need dash, en guard, and phase step they always flying in strait lines and loop in the map just like the player so just move in the oposite direction of it and if you hit a wall just use phase step, once the battle starts you can either play it save by blinding the head or you can just go madman to try heatshot it has bad evasion so a full party can kill this thing easy
I enjoy killing all enemies in my runs and always end up fighting those dinos, is the end of the game and you already has acess to transmutation so you got infinite mind in this point
Congrats for getting sponsored, you deserve it
Thanks!
Video starts at 3:05
I mean, so you skip the discussion about what's a bossfight
Miasma is so cool, sometimes it feels like its talking to me.
First Iron Shakespeare impression was like: hell no, that thing must have big ass health and damage I ain’t fighting it
Then I come back with full party and great equipment and see he dies to like 600 something damage to torso 🗿
Cahara kept stealing my Light Blue vials but Thankfully you taught me about SerfShark
Now that moron can't do anything
I kinda think that Black Witch should be in tier B, at least for design. Also, it brutally punish players for doing the thing that the game previously persistently recommended you to do (attacking the armed hand) wich is a certified case of Fear&Hunger expirience.
I am confused by what you mean with design, you're referring purely to the art itself?
Yeah, those alien black tubes look terrific as a dress
Valtiel was one of the very few bosses I had to look up how to beat.
It's cool and all, but there is actually A LOT OF RNG INVOLVED.
The magic using half does MASSIVE DAMAGE, enough to one shot or two shot even a well equipped character.
If he decides to only spam black orb, you're done for.
Otherwise it's pretty fun and balanced.
Yet having PRAY VERY VERY HARD as a main strategy bugs me in a bsd way
Dogs at beginning should be S tier, the hardest boss to fight
lol real actually, I think more people died to them than nameless figurine
Great video man, you were the first youtuber i watched, who covered fear and hunger 👍
You're welcome buddy!
different sides of the brain being designed for logic and the other for creativity is a myth
Surprised the Nail Board didn't make it here. That guy just comes out of nowhere and fucks up my mood.
Regarding miasma, I think there should be some changes to the weapon like making it impossible to unequip, increasing the damage so it is on par with cursed claymore, and also make it so you can't fight the miasma door at all.
And also just make more miasma event spots I guess?
Miasma imo should be an event that can happen everywhere in every moment if you are low on mind, but that would require a lot of coding for 1 weapon I guess
Came here from CDawg's vid - genuinely great content man, looking forward to future Fear and Hunger stuff from you.
been watching your content for a while and have been loving it, just went back and watched all your older content, specifically your F&H blind runs and loved the story telling! Did you ever do the s endings in that style? I have not seen them anywhere on your channel.
Thanks! The S endings in that style were created as videos, but by that time the content of my channel had "changed" in the sense that I thought they would have been superficial, so I scrapped the idea, maybe I still have them on the old laptop
White Angel is easily one of my favorite bosses, and just design overall, in F&H.
He’s especially fun to draw
I have no intentions of ever playing this game but I’m still intrigued by it and I’m really enjoying your videos about it!
My favourite youtuber, Ghost-Finder -Carnacki- I mean Frapollo94
seeing you get a sponsor was a surprise, but a welcome one.
I really liked you way of delivery and passion you put into this, definitely a deserved sub from me
Thanks!
I agree with the tier list, exept francois i think he is a solid B tier, unless he is in F for Francois.
12:47 "what if i didnt run? what if im not a coward? what if i want them to try?"
PLEASE do more tier lists i love them, grande pollo
Found it a pretty accurate tier list, well done!
Thanks!
Connordawgs video sent me to your channel and I hope more people will subscribe to you, you seem really nice and knowledgeable in this game
I don't think blight could be considered boss since there are multiple of them in the area.
Yeah but they still have the boss music, so by my system it's considered a boss
