New Control Arm with Ball Joint Set from 1AAuto.com trq.video/ia-1...
This video shows you how to install a new quality TRQ lower control arm with ball joint in your 2010-2014 Subaru Outback. Control arms are a crucial part of the suspension system of your vehicle. They not only carry the load of the vehicle to the wheel, but they typically also maintain its alignment. Control arms are typically large and strong, so you may be surprised it needs replacing. They contain rubber bushings for smoother rides at the cost of eventual wear, or integrated ball joints that require replacing the entire arm when they wear.
Estimated installation time for a professional technician is approximately: 1 hour 54 minutes
This repair was done on a 2012 Subaru Outback 2.5i 2.5L Wagon 4-Door AWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2010 Subaru Outback
2011 Subaru Outback
2012 Subaru Outback
2013 Subaru Outback
2014 Subaru Outback

I used this video to change the control arms and ball joints on my 2011 Outback. Thanks for posting it. I have a few suggestions after changing both sides of my car.
1. Buy a Harbor freight or similar ball joint separator . It is much easier than trying to use the pry bar to separate the ball joint from the control arm. The hook shown in the video only works if you have a lift.
2. Buy a Astro Pneumatic 78620 Subaru ball joint puller. It makes getting that rusty ball joint out a breeze.
3. Be prepared to replace your pinch bolts with new ones or drill and use a similar sized bolt and nut.
4. Be prepared to have your car realigned. My front end was really worn, and all of the new parts made it bad out of alignment. I had mine towed to my local alignment shop.
I just tackled this job. To put things simply, the worst job I've ever had to do... albeit on my own vehicle. That ball joint was one persistent SOB to get out of the knuckle. Took two hours to get it out.
I'm sure I could tackle a job like this. And my 2002 Outback needs the whole kit to replace everything: both tie rods, ball joints, control arms (why not), sway bar, struts, and shocks. Why not throw in some horn juice and possum hissulator. The only thing I am lacking is the space to do this in and the proper tools to do it with. It doesn't have to be powered or cordless but good old fashioned well made mechanic tools. And if I did go through and replace everything on the front end suspension the car would most definitely need an alignment since it's been a long while it ever had one. I'd probably be like one of the guys here and end up towing my car to a place to get it done.
Living in california where it doesnt get too rusty I just did this job and it was pretty easy just getting the new ball joint seated took a little patience
That wrench and tap on the ball joint is genius. I thought you were gonna hook up a slide hammer with the wrench attachment on it too
i just finish install it on my 07 outback all can i say is im so happy w the product thanks TRQ
“We’re just gonna give our wrench a tap” 😂😂😂
Thank you for the excellent video and details!
Is the same process for 2o14 legacy 2.5i premium
I noticed that the rotor changes form rusty to clean back to rusty.
Thanks for the videos whit the sp
Wish my sway bar link had that spot for a wrench instead of the end of the bolt having a Torx to hold it. Can't use a ratchet or impact with that stupid design.
Whit the specifications
