we had a close opening to the game but black managed to gain a bit more space and a slight advantage and then we blunder with the move b4 and black was then essentially much better and winning the rest of the game.

Good game against a stronger opponent. Regarding allergies, I’ve been taking allergy shots for a couple of years now and they’ve done wonders. You should consider visiting an allergist as well.

Weird question, when you play without recording, do you talk aloud? I started doing it after watching you’re videos and it’s helped me develop a more logical play style

I record every game I play, the only exception would be if I make a technical mistake, like I simply forget to start recording, but in principle I record every game. but yes even if you don't record, if you talk out loud and speak your moves it can help focus your ideas, though can slow you down a little and sometimes can go the other way and you can make some mistakes because you are taking the time to try to speak out ideas, something you get used to but I had done 3 years live streaming, which stopped about 3 years ago, so was used to it anyway. but yes I find it both a pro and a con, I think it helps overall but can be a distraction at same time.

Bishop d2 to c3 was your strongest move. Not sure i would ever seen pawn h4. That was defiantly an engine move.

yes b-c3 was a good move. h4 wasn't played in the game, that seems like a typo or mixed the co-ordinates?

would you recommend playing in different time controlled games. I only ever play rapid 10+0

depends what you are trying to do. if you are trying to learn and get good at chess then 10-min rapid is very good. the more time on the clock generally speaking the better quality chess you need to try to play. 3-min blitz is very good as well, you get a lot more games in the same time, so more repetition, good for learning and trying tactics. bullet is really just for the fun of bullet, not for getting better at chess. really whatever you enjoy the most and have time for.
