You are so amazing . Out of all the videos I have watched , your voice is even and calming , very articulate. Your talent is amazing. Thank you for your generous instruction. ❤
I would love to see your dye studio. I love how your business came about. like it came about organically with the love of your craft and your hard work, determination, and willingness to take the leap … has made a successful business where you are surrounded by dreamy beautiful yarn. 😍 It really does take something special. I get so excited whenever I see a new video pop up.
Thank you. I'm very grateful that I'm able to do work that I enjoy and that I'm surrounded by beautiful yarn! Yes I will show my dye studio in a future video.
I have been binge watching all of your videos. You are so amazing. I love your dyed yarns! You are really talented. I am a crocheter but have always wanted to knit. Have tried learning once and quit. I’m 57 and feel like I’m going to give it another try. I’m going to take it slow. I have a few disabilities but have never let that stop me. I’m going to just learn casting on today. I checked out your Etsy store and I will be purchasing some yarn. Thanks for making these dyeing yarn videos. I love to watch them.
I'm so happy that you are enjoying my videos. It means so much to receive such nice comments. It's never to late to learn. Just remember that all knitting stitches are variations of only 2 stitches, knit and purl. So once you can do those your golden. I found the hardest part was getting comfortable holding the the needles. Once that awkward stage is over knitting becomes addictive and relaxing. Take your time and enjoy the learning process.
that first blue tone...wasn't sure if it was blue or gray...but it reminded me there is a yarn of grey and violet I want to make socks with (that I need to buy before it runs out), and I may use it as inspiration...I love silk or cashmere in yarns.
Fascinating. I've only dyed silk fabric (batik) years ago...never worked with silk yarn. Your reason for wanting to dye your own yarns resonates with me. Yay for you AND your husband!
This videos excites me and motivates me and really resonates with me. Thank you so much for sharing your story and your knowledge. I would love a video on your dye studio! It’s pretty cool how things have a way of working themselves out. I’m really looking forward to part 2!
Thank you for doing these videos. I love watching them and listening to your stories and explanations. I love hand dyed yarn too and find I get carried away buying all the beautiful types and colors. Looking forward to more videos from you😊. Nancy
Thank you. I get carried away with hand dyed yarn as well😉. I'm a bit of a yarn snob and will only use hand dyed in my projects. Thank you for watching my videos.
Loved, loved, loved your video!! I very much enjoyed listening to how you got started. I am fascinated with all things fiber, but not sure where to start or how to get started. Please share how/where you got your yarn, the books you read about dyeing, and any other pertinent information. Would like to see your new space and am looking forward to part two. You are one beautiful, classy lady!! May God continue to bless you and your business 😀
Thanks for watching. Since I am running a business there are certain things I keep confidential such as my yarn sources but I would definitely like to share some of the books I've found helpful not just for dyeing but for designing knitwear (I have many). Eventually I will do a tour of my workspace.
Thank you so much for sharing. I always enjoy watching you dye yarn. I too am a very small dyer. Our stories are very similar but I am just in the beginning. Yes! I would love to see your dye studio. I am using a small corner of my garage lol. Hey it works!
Thank you for watching and have fun with your yarn dyeing. Your dye space in the garage sounds perfect, it means you can probably make all the mess you want ;) Yes I will show my work area in a future video.
I am enjoying your tremendous dyeing talents. In this video you mentioned that the silk yarn is your favorite, but will not be using it anymore. We're can I get this same yarn to the with?
I'm glad you're enjoying my content. I don't share my supplier info but you can find retailers such as knit pics who have a wide selection of bare yarns for dyeing and they may have silk of silk blend yarns.
It's a steam or proofing oven. You can get them at restaurant supply stores. The brand doesn't matter so much, they all work the same. I traveled to a the supplier that was relatively close to me and just chose from what they had in stock within my budget. It's a big item that costs a lot to ship but I have a truck and trailer so I could pick it up.

Thank you for sharing your story! You mentioned yarn dyeing books… would you please share a few of your favorite titles?
Yes I will do that in one of my videos.

Hi, I see your oven in the background. I am struggling to find a way to heat my pans. What type of oven this and what brand? Thank you kindly, Lori
It's a steam or proofing oven. You can get them at restaurant supply stores. The brand doesn't matter so much, they all work the same. I traveled to a the supplier that was relatively close to me and just chose from what they had in stock within my budget. Where did you get your steam pan oven?
Most restaurant supply companies carry them.
Your studio is so soothing to see. I sort of want to disappear there.
Thank you. It's a relaxing space to work in.
Acid or fiber reactive
I dye mainly on protein fibres (ex. wool, cashmere, mohair) and acid dyes are best for these.
