It is a fun place, well unfortunately they are outdated as most two strokes are. Oh trust me, I will always keep my steel frame 500 and my 01 250. The frame even on the last 2001, was more or less designed in the 80's. They are great bikes and love mine. Yes nothing like a two stroke and yes very bullet proof motor. Honda messed up on that one, because they don't die....
Cool, place looks like fun. I disagree about 500's being outdated, i have a 89 for my trail bike and a 92 extended for the hillclimbs, they are great all around bikes, just depends on the rider, 4 strokes do put the power to the ground easier and smoother. I love the violent power of my 5's and the cheap maintenance.
It depends on the hill. Usually hit them in third, shift to second and if need be hit first. Yes its sad. You realize what fun is!! It is a great work out, great scenery and a good way to enjoy life. Your parents just care about you. Just ride and develop your skills. These 500's are outdated. The new four strokes are the way to go. Two wheels are more fun than four tho. Enjoy
Yeah, true words of the times. DId the same things as a kid. Kids just don't know what real fun is. The motorcycle manufactures are losing millions daily. But really what kid can afford 8k for a dirtbike or 13k for a street bike...
Well im only 33 and im over my crazy years too. Hip surgery and 2 ankle surgeries in my early twenties made sure I slowed down. Last weekend I wend hillclimbing at one of the hardest areas I know called 3 rocks. Its near fresno ca. Its all blm land that's least out to cattle farmers, so they don't allow people to ride their. Some old friends have been riding their since the 60's so they know how to get around all the hills and gates. These guys are in their mid 60's to mid 70's and put me to shame
what gear was you in when you climbed the hills? id love to have one of these bikes it would be a big step from a xr100 lol but I got a trx450r too. I agree with you 100% about teens these days wanting things handed to em im 15 yrs old and ride when I can but parents restrict a lot of what I do when I ride like one of them has to be with me lol
That is some great riding! Its not your first rodeo! That's a steep, long, and sandy hill. Gets tricky when it turns to rock towards the top. Really have to be on your game, so you don't end up without a rear fender. Alsome riding!!
Wow... yes I would say you have had some injuries. That's bitchin you got access to area''s like that as well as good old friends that ride like they do. It really is a dying sport, but the real men/boys know what real fun is, that's why we ride. On my street bike and on the dirt, it comes down to "how much risk you wanna take". These days, I still ride hard but ride for tommorrow and so on, so certain risk's ya just don't take anymore...
Well good for you, yes a 250 can make these hills easy too. maybe you should spent more time reading what it says" more difficult" doesn't say they are hard now does it...
Thank you Sir, I wish I would have gotten a Go-Pro years ago. As I am in my winding down years of doing real crazy crap. Got to keep riding thou...
