@@trish2180 I hear this so often that guitarists struggle to strum (and often sing at the same time!) whilst keeping rhythm! There are a few things you can do to improve your rhythm. I am so passionate about helping people become more confident with their guitar playing, I am putting together a course to especially address these specific issues. Hopefully see you inside of the programme ✨🔥 and thanks for the sub, absolutely love that you have joined the community! Welcome 🤗
The teaching part is done using full strums. The playing at the end is done strumming only some of the strings. It's impossible to keep up with the play-along using the full strums that we learned.
Hi John 😊 I hear what you are saying. Let me explain: In reality, when we play the chords using a strumming pattern, we usually strum most (if not all) of the strings on a down strum, but the up strum we flick two or three of the strings. This ensures you can keep up with the music and also ensures that the strong down strums are louder/fuller and the up strums provide a lighter sound. By flicking just a few strings on your up strum and using small movements with your strumming hand, you should be able to play the song. It may be a good idea to practice the strumming at a slower pace and then speed it up once you get more comfortable! Good luck and I hope this makes sense 😊

This would work too! Absolutely 💯
