Hey Bro, I have a 2022 & have made a few mods. Must Have's - Kimimoto underseat & front barrel bags, notice you already have the underseat bag. Add Rukus side pegs which add to stability placing your feet wide instead of on the front. The rear carrier is a must have, mine is made to add a seat pad for a passenger so it is rated at 150lbs. Don't go cheap, get a solid carrier. Its great for the times you need to take a bag or box. I also installed a tach which I use mostly for tuning purposes. It is essential for accurate tuning for max performance. When you change the drive belt, spend a little extra & get a kevlar belt. Here is the big clue - 1st add a tach & a performance variator, Mine is a Polini. The Ruckus has a rev limiter set at 8850rpms. If you are running at Rev limit with the slider size, install a CDI or EVI plus a performance ignition, change your spark plug to the NGK 8CR9IX which is the iridium spark plug. This will remove the rev limit & max speed is obtained at around 9350rpms. Remove rollers & install sliders (Dr. Pulley) in a performance variator, add the gold colored performance drive face. Gram weight for Sliders is figured by added curb weight rider plus extras = Below 200lbs use 5.5gram, 200-230lbs 5gram & above 230lbs to 250;bs 4.5gram slider weight. 2nd big clue - adding an open flow air intake, re-jet the carb & a performance exhaust these must be expertly tuned. It's not just plug & play 1 or the other. Make sure to buy the complete set from a qualified mechanic seller who has designed the package. Otherwise, you can actually decrease performance substantially. Clue 3 is never run with the oil at the top full mark. Best performance is obtained with the oil level at halfway between full & low. As for tires, the Michelin street tires work the best & give you more mileage, increase air pressure but do not exceed 26psi rear & 28psi front. My retirement hobby is restoring to show quality old muscle cars, mostly Mustang Cobra's & Shelby Cobra's. In the past I built & ran drag cars & bikes. My Rukus with a Stage 1 kit will cruise at 40mph & max at 45mph without the Stage 2 kit which is air intake, re-jetting the Carb & a tuned performance exhaust. May or May Not do it, will wait until Spring ? Anticipate a 4mph speed increase & that will be max output from the 49cc engine at my 220lb weight plus 10lbs of bags & carrier = 230lbs above curb weight. I run 4.75gram slider weight using 3x5gram & 3x4.5gram set perfectly which is 1x 5 then 1x 4.5 going around & use a gram scale to match perfectly. Any questions will be happy to respond.
Hey man! Thank you for all this awesome information it really helps me see what’s possible on the ruckus. I like the idea of the polini variator. Also that’s a good tip on the oil level I never would have thought of that one! Let me know if you ever try anything else on your ruckus thank you for all the tips man I appreciate it tons, lots of new information for me as I’m not as experienced as you 😅 I’ll let you know if I end up doing anything else with my ruckus I honestly really would hope to just don’t know if I’m capable yet
@@owentesch I saw where I had made a fat finger mistake when I advised rear tire air pressure. 36 as in thirty-six psi is a maximum & this is for 250lbs or more above curb weight. I personally use 34psi rear tire pressure 28 front tire pressure which seems to be a standard.
Check with your State/Country as to requirements for bike license & or motorcycle license. My State requires both & I received my 1st motorcycle license at 15 years old which was 54 years ago.

Front pegs might be a must have for me as well

I love this thing but my concern is 40mph can’t keep up with traffic.
Do you need a license plate for that?
