I am now allowed to grow currants where I live, they were banned for many years for fears of carrying a pine disease. I just got a really nice harvest for the first time off of them. I have a red one and a white one. I have no idea what types. I don't think black currants are allowed still. I really like the flavor of the white ones, they are more sweet tasting and they were ripe before the red ones.
I want to try these i have the red one growing and goose berries bush growing maybe next year it will have fruit Black current I eat them for boosting immune system like elderberry but i don't know it tastes like medicine to me lol but well needed sometimes
@@allthefruit agreed one black one 5 red ones and so on Its a flavor i crave tho And goose berries i cannot wait to have some its been a while I like the ones that have spines on the skin They are soft but spines So you bite a hole and eat the inside not the skin ;) so yummy I had a raw hazelnut yesterday theres nothing like the tastes that bring your childhood back;) Much love xoxox
2 Years ago i bought a white and black currant plant, for the first time they are fruiting, turns out the "Witte Parel"(says the Label) is not a white but a red currant, i was so disappointed and still am. I mean the red ones taste okay, but i prefer White or Black currant.
@@allthefruit Got ya, also is there anyway to really differentiate between red and white ones? The black currant is easy, its enough to water it to get that strong cassis smell.

@@easygrows2699 i know no way. Red and white is the same species, the chemical composition of the berries seems to be the only difference
