  • I wanted a dust show for our large 8 x 4 CNC Router but I didn't want to buy one, didn't have a 3D printer to print one and so decided to see if we could make one. Making your own is the best part anyway, isnt it?
    I am lucky enough to have access to a laser cutting machine however this could be made using some standard workshop gear and lets be honest, if you have a CNC then you could cut this out.
    Drop a comment below if you would like access to the vector files and we will see what we can get sorted!
    I hope that this gives you some sort of starting point, please feel free to ask any questions in the comments below.

      The reason isn't him, it's that to 99.999% of people, creativity sounds like work, and they rather watch cat videos or be jealous of what the Kardashians are wearing...

    Hey mate this look fantastic. Been trying to find an example of how to do this in slices. Would it be possible to get the files so I can modify them to my needs?

    How did you attach the actual brush material onto the red sleeve? Hot glue/pinned?

    • @TheNaturalWorkshop
      @TheNaturalWorkshop  Рік тому

      Pretty sure I used CA glue or hot glue to attach the brush strip.

      @@TheNaturalWorkshop Thanks, I'll give the hot melt a go first. Haven't got any CA anyway. 👍

      No worries, I didn't realise, but there are lots of different types of hot melt glue, who would have knew it! Good luck, let me know how you get on!

      @@TheNaturalWorkshop Thanks, will do. May have to check out the hot melt glue. Got a kit from Aldi here in Oz donkeys years ago, but never even opened it 😀. May take a while, still sorting the garage out, and finding things I can't remember buying, or thought I'd lost. Definitely need to get things in order before I get cutting again, and number one is getting dust management sorted, otherwise I'll end up in the same mess and back to square one 😀. I found a brand new 750 watt dust collector that I bought second hand nearly 10 years ago in the far corner. Been using a shop vac with a cyclone on top of an old home brew beer barrel. Works well, but bloody loud. Next job to cobble the dust extractor to the cyclone once the dust hood is sorted, and go from there.
      Have you considered doing a walk-round video of your shop? Maybe a video of each of your machines. I'm interested in the design of your CNC machine for instance, your Y axis looks interesting. Fairly easy to do and shouldn't need too much editing.

      Apoloiges, UA-cam didnt let me know you had replied! Ha, yeah, Ive got one of those setups for my general cleaning in the shop. Everything routed through a cyclone using a Dyson hoover. Works great but it is way too loud!
      Yeah I can do a walk around the shop, we are in the process of tidying the whole place up as Ive got timber EVERYWHERE lol, its making it a right pain to work, give me a couple of weeks and Ill get one done 👍
