Ha! I was finishing this one and thinking about riding and teaching at the barn tomorrow. I’m a riding instructor on Long Island! Love the sport - been riding for 30 years - though realizing through you and my PT I have to focus on building my core and tucking my pelvis (instead of sticking my butt out too much - a bad habit of many jumper riders) when I ride since I’ve recently developed back issues (from improper yoga). Your videos are already a huge help for my healing journey and I already incorporate Pilates techniques into my riding and teaching! ❤
Oh, that’s amazing! I actually used to live on Long Island, so hearing from a fellow rider and instructor there brings back memories! Riding really does require such unique core and pelvic alignment, especially in the jumper world-it’s great that you’re incorporating Pilates techniques into your riding and teaching! Horse riding is one of my hobbies too and Pilates definitely helps with posture, strength and flexibility and maybe even falling off although I try not to do that too often 😀😀
Yes!! After our first horse riding lesson, I got an even better understanding of why Pilates is such a great compliment to it -- so many benefits! I also will be aiming not to fall off, ha!
