The Yamaha RX100 was the go-to bike for two-wheeler enthusiasts back in the 80’s and early-90s. Back then, the Yamaha RX100 not only set a benchmark for two-stroke motorcycles but also single-handedly changed people’s perspective towards motorcycling.
The Yamaha RX100 was launched in November 1985 and the company kept manufacturing it until March 1996. The government’s decision to pull the plug on all two-stroke motorcycles ended of the Yamaha RX100's reign in India. But the success story carries on even today
The RX100 was the result of Yamaha going back to the drawing room after the RD350 failed to light up the market. But even Yamaha couldn’t have anticipated the outcome of their radical approach, making the Yamaha RX100 the legend it is today. The best example of this is that enthusiasts are still willing to handover hefty amounts of money in order to own a well-maintained example of the RX100.

I have Yamaha RXG purchased First Hand in 1996 & it's still in Pristine Condition even now without restoration. I can prove it with photos & videos. I still ride it now as during my college days, but now I ride with extra care coz most parts are not available in my city, Shillong. But it's NOT for SALE !!! Yamaha RX is not just a bike , it's the Sentimental Value in it !!!

One more thing to keep in mind is that in some states you will have to provide invoice of the motorcycle issued by the showroom, in some states they have the invoice values already on which you have to pay road tax again. In Hyderabad, Telangana it is expensive to transfer another state vehicle with noc because of road tax, green tax etc. Previously the green tax here was 200, and some months back they increased it to 5000. So renewal has become very expensive here. It might differ in every state as you said.

@@dynorunner6830 Hi bhai! Thank you. If rc expired before 2017. They will calculate from January 2017, 300 rs per month late fee challan. So challan alone is 18k + green tax - 5k. Renewal charges - 2k + insurance charges + agent charges extra. It would cost anywhere between 26k - 28k. And this is same for any bike. Not just chetak. Any bike same fee structure.

Getting a bike from other state and re-registering it is a very lengthy and expensive process. different states have different rules. I got a rx100 from Rajasthan recently. The NOC cost was around 5k and shipping the bike to Karnataka was also around 5k. The RTO charges in Karnataka came around 7.5k which included green tax, road tax, getting new KA number also the green tax in Karnataka is just rs.500. Just imagine the re registration cost in states where the green tax is in the range of 5 to 10k. I had got the bike for 45k and the NOC,Shipping and RTO cost came around 18k. So for 63k i could have easily got a bike in Karnataka itself. Also Ive come across many people getting cheated where the seller sends the bike and doesn't provide noc. Also most of the bikes that i came across in north states like UP, RJ, MP wont have updated and running papers. First you'll have to update papers there. Then apply for noc. which again is extra expense. Also there are lot of Delhi and NCR registered RX up for sale for which you wont get NOC. Its good as bike without papers.
I have a rx in Karnataka which is registered in harayana. I have the rc but it is expired what according to you will be the procedure of getting a KA number? Please help 🙏

I bought an RX 135 from within Tamilnadu but 200 kms from my house.
He gave it for 20 k but he told me that he will not give the RC because he requires it for his own bike.
So, obviously at the end I had to sell it back as I might not ride an unfair vehicle being a lawyer myself😢😢

Spare parts are available here for most common antiques like the G2 bullet and RX series hence maintenance is doable long term

Actually, Rx100 se Rx135 4 speed is far better. Rx135 engine opens its power from mid range and achieve top speed upto 120+ km.
