Sure, they could have screamed at him or grabbed him, at the risk of a potentially lethal altercation, or they can access the danger to the female officer as minimal and deal with him later, in a safer setting, where there isn't a suspect resisting arrest.

    Very concerning that his first thought was to try and strangle the female officer. People who put their hands round their victim’s throat, in domestic abuse cases, have the highest risk that they will commit murder. At least 40% of US cops have a history domestic violence (it’s underreported). This dangerously out of control abuser may have left the force, but his family is very definitely still in peril. Now he’s lost his outlet for aggression, he’ll most probably turn it onto them instead.

      @BootyGoblinesque 5 місяців тому

      @@gabrielfreire3732 Yeah for sure, I agree with you on that. I don't think that cop was being an asshole. Like all jobs there's a learning curve and you never stop learning from making mistakes and being taught how to do things better. The cop didn't seem to be being malicious or acting with prejudice, I think this was a simple learning moment for him and massive respect to his superior for being a role model for him as an officer. The only difference between this and other jobs is that with cops there's simply some mistakes that should never be made to begin with, but thankfully this was not one of them. It would be a different conversation if he was trying to arrest the kid without verifying the details.
      Hopefully he learned from this situation and the next time he has to resolve a situation like this he can do it better. And to give him a compliment instead of just criticizing him: based on what we can see in the body cam footage it sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders and doesn't approach people with prejudice or malice, he was never aggressive and he was overall pretty respectful to the kids, and that's a solid foundation for being a good officer.

Yes Ik she spit on him but cops are supposed to be held to higher standard when it comes to emotional responses. And seeing as she was already in the car with handcuffs it was 100% an emotional response. You already have enough to charge her with assault on a law enforcement officer after she spit, and that’s why they have spit masks. Totally unnecessary use of force. Even if you think she deserved it(a lot of people do), at the end of the day you can’t use your badge to justify street justice. He was in no apparent danger, and she was already apprehended. She could’ve easily been killed, paralyzed, or have suffered permanent brain damage.

      If you make People aware of the Fact that, if they choose to make X Decision, then they will receive Negative Results, but if they choose to make Y Decision, then they will receive Slightly-Less-Negative Results, then they are obviously going to choose Y, if given the Choice, because Basic Flawed Human Nature is fundamentally selfish (in a General Sense, although obviously, there will be Exceptions to the Rule). The difference isn't about money, but the assessment of points on the operator's licence. Long term versus short term solutions.

      A bill of sale doesnt matter in a possession of stolen property case. Not unless the bill of sale was from the lawful owner.

      @marcush4741 depends on your state. Cause bikes are stolen all the time and not everyone fact checks the bikes. I made sure to check my VIN's but my bud was unfortunate and got a hot bike. • @marcush4741
      @marcush4741 8 місяців тому +1

      @@khrisbowden5362 it really doesnt depend on your state. Being in possession of a stolen bike is a crime in all states. A bill of sale is not legal or valid if the seller isnt the owner. In any state. The only thing the bill of sale shows is that the purchaser didnt INTEND to be violating the law. But intent is not a factor in possession of stolen prlperty charges.
      The variable is officer discretion. An officer who sees a bill of sale can use his discretion to decide that the purchaser was intentionally in possession of stolen property, or if he was acting in good faith. However, even with that bill of sale, the officer would be completely within his right to arrest the kid. The bike was stolen, the bike was in his possession. Those are the only two things required to prove possession of stolen property.

One example is in the recent case Cruise-Gulyas v Minard, where an appeals court ruled that a cop who had already given the plaintiff a ticket had no right to pull her over again after she flipped him off once the initial traffic stop had been completed. I don't know these peoples reasons for disliking cops, I could guess that it's due to the rampant corruption and abuse they are well known for, but regardless they can feel however they want to feel about cops. So long as they aren't harming anyone they are fully allowed to express their dislike with words or extended fingers.
