Great review. This video changed my perception of replaceable razor blade hunting knives. I always thought they were a bit gimmicky and for those who are too lazy or don't know how to sharpen. I can now see their practicality in the field, especially with those special replacement blades like the guthook, saw and fillet blade. Most of us don't shave with a straight razor, we use replaceable blades. Surgeons use replaceable blades. Contractors use replaceable utility blades. Replaceable scalpel blades get used by surgeons to open up people, and a hunter is essentially a field surgeon for the animal. It makes a lot of sense. I was quite shocked at how expensive some of those handles were, but then again some people spend rent money on a pocket knife with super crazy steel that they keep in a safe and never cut anything with
The Gerber is the only one I would own. I only use it for skinning you don't need the full blade. Taking those blades off by hand is dangerous one slip your going to the hospital. JMO
It is interesting that you go off camera to detach the blade for the handle. Seeing how to get the blade off is what I am interested in. You might as well show me how to peal potatoes. Tell me you are not going to operate on someone with demonstration blades. So if you are not, are the gloves so we can't see the Band-Aids on your fingers. Just askin'. :>) All that being said great review.
I really like the tyto knife but they don't sell that one anymore so I'm looking to buy the tyto finisher, very similar. Can you tell me who makes the bone saw, fillet blade, and the spork. Great video! Glad I found your channel and I subscribed!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP
Awesome reviews and thank you for answering a lot of question that I had about all of these knives specially the gerber knive. One question though does the Havalon piranta take the Tyto spork. I’ve been debating buying this if it cannot be used on my piranta?
Can you tell me the difference in a #23 and #24 the knife handle I want says it only for #23 but I don’t see there being that much difference. Also how much cutting edge is on a #23 ?
@@BoudreauxBoswell Oh man ok if I'm not mistaken, I think Havalon uses similar blades called Baracuta #127XT fillet blade for their Baracuta Z and a few other knives. Do you think they'll fit the Tyto TI?
The viewers of my channel and me thank you, you're pointless comments will not be missed. This isn't an airport so no need to announce your departure....

fantastic review!! Thank you!
Great video. Any recommendations for foldable scalpel knives?
Great review. I would be curious to hear more about the LONEROCK RBK combo. How does the folder compare to a Havalon, OE or Gerber?
I don't know, I hate folding knives for skinning and gutting so I no longer use them .
@@BoudreauxBoswell seems like a good video idea for those that do, fair tho it's Ur channel
Thanks for this video. What are some examples of diseases I could potentially get from dressing an Elk?
Tuberculosis and brucellosis are the first two that come to mind, I think they can even carry Leptospirosis as well.

The tyto finisher is a awesome knife! The bone saw was made by havalon and both the filet and the spork were made by tyto.
How effective is the havalon saw blade on bone? Any experience with it?

I think it fits, I have no idea where my piranta is. I feel like I tried it right when I got the spork and it fit.
Fantastic video man good job 👍
I like the Wiebe knife!!! The blades and the handles!!! P.S. the price!!!
Damn good review!

I have no idea about a #23 and #24
what kind of belt clip did you have on the sheath for the kestrel?
It’s a Mummert Knives Ti clip
@@BoudreauxBoswell great now i found a bunch of other titainium stuff i will spend my money on, thank you lol
Easy to use and hold weight up to 300 lb
What kind of gloves are those?
RESQ-GRIP Gloves, They are rated almost twice the industry standard for tensile strength before breaking or tearing
Can't find those filet blades anywhere
I think they discontinued them or suspended production right after this video. The cost to make them in the US was to high.

@@bryanquin9629 No, the size of the attachment point is larger on the barracuda blades than the tyto.
Ebay has them
No way I would ever own a replacable blade knife.
I don't think the knives are going to be very good looking
Its nit about being good lookimg
The fact that you call these knives is every bit of why I won't watch another video you make . These are no more than handles
