To fix the kernal sticking in the tubing and needing the extra jolt, consider using silconert coated tubing. It does ad cost but it saves sticking and even cross contamination between powders.
5500$ ? wow .. this is amazing, but its for those professional sponsord type of reloaders.. the average reloader wont be able to afford that. but, i do say- everything i seen and heard, it is one well built and wonderful work of art.. my hats off to ya

Just wanted to say this machine is 100% too rich for my blood much less my shooting or reloading skills. The person buying this is absolutely buying some form of art rather than a mere powder measure however. What a fantastic device with the culmination of a huge amount of mechanical knowledge put into it.
Damn this guy has to be smart. This one impressive machine. Can't afford but I'm not going to hate on it. Why search for something you're going to just hate on guys?

Thomas, at the time of this video, the Prometheus GenII was only available to lease. Now, there is an option to buy the machine outright.

I am an Instrumentation Technician who specialises in mass, density and weight measurement.
Your definition of a Scale and/or Balance are not right. They are different devices that can not be made from one into the other just by being calibrated and certified.
Scales measure weight due to gravity(yes the "due to gravity" is important). They also do not have to be certified. There are plenty of plants/industrial kitchens I have worked at where they don't bother calibrating scales for saleable product because they are used for a guide only.
Balances(which is what this device is fundamentally) measure density relative to a known quantity regardless of gravity as gravity is applied to both sides of the balance equally. A balance can be and often are certified, at least to about the same ratio as scales. My local fruit shop uses a trade certified balance.
At the start of this video, around 14 minutes, the gentleman explains exactly what each division on the beam scale and fine adjustment mean. These figures are probably also put into the product documentation. Just because the numbers are not engraved into the beam means nothing at all. A simple beam balance from RCBS or Lyman has numbers on it but no one expects those to be within .02 grain accurate. Some are for sure but most are not.
Balances are often used where extreme accuracy is needed, due to the ability to have a very accurate definition of density of the comparison load. That could be a physical calibrated load or a magnetic force supplied by a current.

Minor changes to the various parts take place periodically, but this is very close to what is being delivered today.

To my knowledge, only the gen2 is available.
