10 Signs Of A Spirit Of Gluttony
1. Excessive Overeating: Consistently consuming large quantities of food beyond what is necessary for sustenance.
- Proverbs 23:20-21: "Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."
2. Constant Hunger: Feeling an insatiable hunger that is not satisfied by normal portions of food.
- Philippians 3:19: "Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things."
3. Obsession with Food: Thinking about food constantly, planning meals far in advance, and experiencing anxiety if meals are delayed.
- Matthew 6:25: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?"
4. Emotional Eating: Using food as a primary way to cope with stress, sadness, or other emotional issues.
- Proverbs 28:7: "A discerning son heeds instruction, but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father."
5. Loss of Control: Inability to stop eating even when full, or feeling out of control around food.
- 1 Corinthians 6:12: "'I have the right to do anything,' you say-but not everything is beneficial. 'I have the right to do anything'-but I will not be mastered by anything."
6. Hiding Food: Keeping stashes of food hidden or sneaking food when others are not around.
- Isaiah 55:2: "Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare."
7. Eating in Secret: Preferring to eat alone or in hiding to avoid judgment from others.
- Luke 12:2: "There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known."
8. Physical Symptoms: Experiencing health issues related to overeating, such as obesity, diabetes, or digestive problems.
- 1 Corinthians 10:31: "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
9. Guilt and Shame: Feeling deep guilt or shame after overeating, but still continuing the behavior.
- Romans 7:15: "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do."
10. Neglecting Responsibilities: Letting the pursuit of food interfere with work, relationships, or other important areas of life.
- Proverbs 23:21: "For drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."

After years of nailing Gluttony to the Cross in my prayer closet the Lord led me to this video. I was in a hurry and started not to watch it, but the Lord told me that I needed a boost to my prayers, so I watched it and prayed at the end . Now I have to almost make myself eat . I no longer fantasize about what I am going to eat when I get home from work or what restaurant I am going to eat at .
Food is no longer ruling my thoughts!
I lost three pounds immediately from the demon spirit departing from my life !
Now I can focus more on the Lord , instead food !

Both sons are special needs I’m so overwhelmed trying to support them on my own. I’m struggling to make ends meet, to pay bills, and to put food on the table for my children. The Bible says give all your cares to God because He cares for you. How can Jesus guide you and give you strength if you are trying to balance everything on your own? Why don't you give everything to God and just trust Him? It's not normal for a Christian to struggle this much unless they are refusing to rely on God. You have been writing comments on multiple Christian videos a day for at least 2 years now and still you are stuck in the same spot. It sounds like to me you are in the wilderness because you are circling the desert over and over instead of listening to God and trusting Him. Give all your cares to God instead of youtube

I have victory in Christ Jesus, and I stand in agreement and receive by faith the prayer Daniel prayed. Thank you I have been very reluctant on trusting anyone in and out of the church.. It has almost been two years that I came face to face with death, I was in a coma. The recovery took 2to 3 years to be fully recovered. I had diabetes I had to take insulin 5 times a day. I was 300 pounds. I turned My whole life around lost 150kg ate the healthest foods and cured my diabetes well god did. I just forgot to thank him and give jesus the glory and get on my knees and pray and thank him for his mercy thank him for pulling me from the pit and there is no other way to put it because as I woke up from my coma and I looked up it was a bunch of demons laying in the Pitts waiting but a voice told me to fight. I am alone I am not scared anymore I am not alone I know I have jesus but TRUST is such a hard thing. I know god wants me to help maybe by going to places where gods people need love healing the most.

I've really put on the weight since Christmas. And one of the main times we pray is before a meal. I had a dream that I was worshiping or praying to the food. And now seeing this. I hope you don't mind Daniel but I'd like to add #11 to your list. 11) You will find yourself making excuses to cover up the fact you have a demon of gluttony. You will find yourself thinking things like "Oh just one donut won't hurt" or "I'll just walk it off tomorrow". You may also be thinking things like "I'm not getting fat, my clothes probably just shrank in the washer". And when it comes time to fast you will actually believe that eating vegetables is fasting when that's a straight lie from the pit of hell. The Hebrew word for "fast" is "tsome" which means, WITHOUT FOOD. So when it says Jesus 'fasted' 40 days it means he went "WITHOUT FOOD" 40 days because afterwards it says "he was hungry". Matthew 4:2. That's a dead giveaway you have a spirit of gluttony because it's trying to cover up it's existence.

This is such an important topic for the church - especially those of us in the south. Food is as big as church here, big Sunday/after church meals. Nothing wrong with food as you say but the church is so physically unhealthy. I’ve already decided once my kids get back in school this fall, I’m going to get healthy again. 💪

Thank you so much for your taking the time to teach what God has given you. After I had my last child, I've been trying so hard to lose weight and have failed! I felt like I started eating more unhealthier than normal, but I knew it was a spirit behind it! I've been struggling with my weight and other health problems for 13 years now (which is how old my youngest daughter is). I really needed to hear this!...everything you said is so true about people dealing with this problem. You just confirmed some things for me that I was just talking to my mother about. The Most High revealed this same thing to me a few days ago, and I was telling her about it too. Anyway, now I have some tools to work with! Peace and blessings to you and your family🤍

In the past I've had eating disorders (yes, I repented). I think possibly doors openened due to being molested by the second cousin of my daddy when I was young (I didn't tell until I was in my 30's, when the memories came back, then I felt guilty bc he had an infant daughter, so I felt my silence put her in danger).
I have been date raped, other sexual abuse, domestic abuse, etc.
I was "Bulimic-rexic", either bingeing, then overusing laxititives, exercising for hours, or not eating for days, or restrictinting calories heavily.
You don't have to be overweight to be a glutton. Especially when it is a spirit. It foes cause guilt, shame, self-loathing, Body dysmorphia(where you look in the mirror and see FAT even though you have a healthy BMI.
BUT GOD, is my DELIVERER. He has given me a spirit of Discipline and Self-Control.
He is setting me free from being lazy, pack rat, disorganized as well.
