Contaminated water in Devon! But I bet you a pound to a penny? That the chief executives and the sheir holders! Will still get there annual premiums and the executives will still get there annual bonuses??? And as usual the British taxpayers will fund the decontamination process? And still end up with higher water rates??? It's time all the water authorities in the UK! Should be taken back into the public sector?.
A modest proposal. Water companies should be under a legal obligation to deliver adequate bottled water on a daily basis directly to everyone's doors on every occasion where they cannot guarantee the quality of the tap water. They must do this out of their profits, with no increase in prices or hidden costs. And above all, senior management bonuses and share dividends to be banned for two years, whenever drinking water standards are not met, or when sewage dumps into rivers exceed emergency requirements and are being used merely as cost reduction (profit maximisation) It is time and past time that the people responsible for the safe operation of our infrastructure, and those profiting from breaches of standards, were held accountable.
Update today . I live in Brixham and have been told by South West Water that it is not safe to drink water. My retirement living bosses have told us there are still problems so keep boiling the water
Sad thing is once it's over people still won't think to store bottled water, always boil tap water, let it cool & put it in the fridge in bottles, get steralizing tabs for water ,or a filtration system.Millions of people worldwide & in the UK are preppers now because they know life isn;t getting better in the coming yrs just worse. So expect more *outbreaks* of *Whatever*
SWW has been so inconsistent! We get a notice through our letterboxes to say that we should boil our water, then another one saying it is safe, but their website still says that it needs to be boiled.
2,500 houses are affected. Bad news for those people but boiling the water is easy enough. The totally ignored but much bigger story is why was the water company so slow to respond? Why were they trying to hide the truth while people were falling sick? This debacle and the woefully bad media coverage is already causing serious damage to the Devon economy.
A criteria for a first world country is clean water. If we don’t have clean water then we should be classed as a third world country so give us money like China and India get
One needs to ask why the cattle were not checked obviously to come from animal waste the bug was obviously in the water supply the animals used or do bugs come from some magic tree minister. Animals need to be regularly monitoring
They are lying to us. I wudnt be surprised if the whole open valve is fabricated. Have you seen how much human sewage has been dumped into the Thames. Don’t belibe any of it the people of Devon have been drinking human waste
@@TaNkGiRlGiBo I know Somerset is known for Cider, so is Devon and Cornwall. The west country is a haven for cider drinkers in general, thats my point.
Water supply should not be privatized .it should be publicly owned.
Imagine thinking you can privatise rain 😂
The uk is a third world country,we can't even clean water, this is another reason to renationalise all utilities.

We are a third world country
But only because of imported third-world people. Britain would still be first-world if it was still white.

I would be cancelling my SWW direct debit! And issuing the managing director and company secretary a summons to court.
I live in the south east near London and the water is terrible good job we have a distiller and never drink tap water directly!
They better hope the public don't take the law into their hands because if it does God help them
Russia doesn't even have to poison the uk water supply, the uk water companies will do it on their own
