Family first, Brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and family. It's a tough gig, Joey. I'm 50 and my dad is battling cancer. There are times when it takes all I have just to focus and accomplish the task before me. Nobody said it is easy. You are loved, and with your strength and intellect, you got this!

Regardless everyone that has put an effort to keep us informed are all appreciated front line reporters to me. I have family there so I watch all of them!

Joey, I've been taking care of my mother over two years now while she lives in a group home under the care of hospice. After my dad died of covid, she mentally deteriorated with dementia. She mentally refuses to walk, even though she suffers from no physical impairment. I had to place her in a group home as I physically couldn't get her out of bed or into the shower. I can honestly say that I'm grateful and relieved in placing her into the group home. It was very difficult during the first six months in handling the financial situation as well as the transition into hospice but it gets much better with time and i know it'll get better for you and Maria. I send my love and prayers to you. Your friends will still be here.

Joey, Thank you for the update. I have walked in your shoes. You are on the right path. Family first. Honoring your parents is the only commandment. of ten that provides a bonus (Long life). My father left the planet at 99 last October after battling 4 types of cancer over the last 5 years. My mom is 95 and in good health. I promised to get him out of Baylor Hospital (7 days) and home to leave the planet. It was a miracle that I got him out. He passed that night in his sleep after seeing his bride for 60 years. Your Mom sounds awesome. We will be waiting for you!!! Godspeed

Joey, so sorry to hear about your dad‘s health problems. I understand your desire to keep your channel going and I also understand the turmoil you must be experiencing from your father‘s health problems as I myself experienced that before my father‘s passing. Remember family first, we owe our parents that. I enjoy your videos, even the walk & talks. I especially enjoy those. The walk & talks could be beneficial to your channel and also to you at this stressful time you just have to find a balance of what you can fit into your schedule. Praying for you and your family, we will be here when you’re ready. 🙏

I know exactly what you are going through. I'm in the same situation. I left FL 10yrs ago to help my mom out, but she refuses to do anything anymore. I can no longer take care of her. She is fully capable, but just refuses. Me & my sister gave her an ultimatum yesterday in fact. She don't move & smokes 2 packs of cigs a day. No place for senior living around here accepts smokers. She's 76 & incompliant. I'm 54yo now. I gave up 10yrs of my own life & I've had enough. To some this may offend, but she needs full time help that I just can't give anymore. I feel for you guy! Good luck🙏

Thank you Joey and Joey's mom to motivate you a little to give us updates! I speak for myself but I like little video like that, just walking around and get updates on you and family. Like you said, it is what it is, and that is part of life, you can't please everybody. I am sure the situation as taken it's tall on you and family :( it is the hardest part of life when you have to start making decisions for your parents, you are never prepared for that! I am now 65 and retired, not the best health but I managed very well. My biggest fear is to have to go to the hospital later on in life and have someone whipping my ass for me :( I have a very hard time dealing with that. Things change when your older and you can't avoid it for the most part. As for myself, I will always support you and your channel along with Maria to your side! I love you guys and I'm always happy to see your videos no matter where they are made! Love and hugs for both of you and your family!

Prayers to you and your family right now. I know exactly what you are going through as I lost my Dad 12 years ago. Six weeks after his passing, my stepmother passed, and our family went through that whole ordeal all over again. Now is the time to talk to him and listen to what he has to say. Some things won't necessarily make sense until later. Maybe document it, if he is up to it, even if it's only for your self because once they are gone, you miss the interaction and the sound of their voice. Trust me, I know.

Believe it or not, I am going through the same thing you are going through. I had both of my parents in the hospital and then into rehab. My 83-year-old father is making somewhat of a comeback but definitely not anywhere he was just a year ago. My mother on the other hand has gone downhill very fast. She is 80 years old and she is a complete mess. She just came out of rehab and can no longer stand. She has an external catheter and I'm fighting with Medicare to get her some home care. I'm not one to change her diapers. Her mind is no longer there either. All of this started a few weeks ago. I mean it hit her fast. She is talking to people that are no longer there. So you might experience the same thing as I am with my parents after rehab. You might need to get "Power of Attorney" to deal with insurance. Just be there for your Father and be patient through these twilight times. And, don't do this all by yourself. Talk to his doctor and keep him/her up to date on his progress.

I can 1,000% relate Joey. I am living with nearly identical challenges with my mother, who is 84, turning 85 this summer and has been suffering from dementia for the past 5 years. I'm all she has now and like you, I had to face reality and place her into a nursing home when I could no longer care for her at home. Watching her decline especially over the past 2 yrs has been nothing short of torturous for her and for me. I would never wish this on anyone else. I wish I could say 'hey, just hang in there, it'll get better', but I can't. The future is unknown for folks like us in this situation. Just hope you find your own way through it. I'm struggling and I can completely relate to how you're feeling. Good luck Joey.

Hey Joey.......I lost both my parents some years ago.My Mother in 1997 and my Dad in 2009. I had no help with my Dad who became bedridden. He was a very large man and it became impossible for me to help him. I lived with him and did my best but I had to put him in a nursing home. He knew it had to be and was so gracious about it.
Still the hardest thing I've ever done. I have no family so it was all on me. I say this so you will know I understand a lot of what you are dealing with. Listen to your Mother. She is a wise woman. Don't you shut down like your Dad is doing.......
The P.T. might just get him going again.
If you need to talk I would be happy to impart as much info as I can. My heart breaks for you and I have missed your vlogs. The walk and talks are great.Hang on sweet friend. Please say hello to Maria - she's a delightful person.🙏🙏🙏💪💙

    Hey Joey,
I lost my dad at 23 and cared for him through the last few years of his life through hospice, lost my mother at 26 and cared for her in the last year of her life through hospice and was the executor of the estate for both. (I'm currently 29)
I fully understand not having the motivation. Just do what you can when you can. Even if it's a vlog in your car in-between medical appointments raw-unedited. Just keep pushing. It's hard stuff to deal with. Take all the time you need but don't let it control you. I did and spiraled for a couple years, wasted years.
    Keep your head up man!

Everyone has a life outside youtube and thats ok. It will be here when you are ready. Be thinking about you and pray for you to get thru this soon. Dealing with an aging parent is hard on many levels and a lot of us respect what you are dealing with because weve been there and others know they will be there soon too. God bless

You're a good son. Our parents took care of us, sacrificed for us. I took care of my dad in his later years. Although pretty healthy, his clock slowly ran out and it was a privilege to take care of him and make him as comfortable as possible. Let him know you love him...

Thanks for the life update, and I thank your father for his service to our country. I have been through very similar times that you are going through. Spend as much time with your parents while you have the opportunity. I don't regret a single minute of caring for or visiting with them while I could. I'll stay subscribed and catch you whenever you post. God bless.

Maybe you could interview your dad, I bet he has interesting stories that could be fun for us and satisfying for you! What about a walk and talk getting him out in a wheelchair but getting some sun in an empty park on a weekday!
Also if your time is short make a short vlog.

I fully understand. My own dad went through a decade of declining health, and for his last year or so, he was no longer able to get out of bed. He was morbidly obese and didn't take care of his health. Stay strong and enjoy the time you and your dad have left, Joey, my friend.

Hey Joey, so sorry about your dad! This is your dad, u-tube makes all the channels seem so surreal! Nothing outside of your channel exists. It’s s extremely hard to handle the situation and handle your own well being. Appreciate you coming to us, subscribers to give us some information and I feel for you ,wishing everything works out the best for everyone involved and I personally know from my experience and I don’t have an obligation to a u tube channel. But it can and did stress me out. We are human and just do what you think is best. We are your other family, and family is there for each other! ❤👍😎
