#TheRookie
Bishop made so many mistakes here:
1. She can't pronounce anyone dead. She's not a physician or an EMT.
2. She shouldn't have canceled the ambulance. At minimum, the family downstairs could be traumatized.
3. It's not a homicide, it's an Officer-involved shooting. Calling it a homicide indicates the act was unlawful.
4. Nolan's not a suspect. He would only be one if someone witnessed or reported him committing a crime.
Ikr
Plus if someone pulls a gun on an officer they are permitted to shoot even if it’s a BB gun the officer doesn’t know that
@@nyricanmini While you are spot on in NY homicide law, you ignore the fact that this was a police shooting. Soldiers and Cops killing a hostile target change the designation of the kill. Police (at least MP's) will refer to it as a "lethal engagement of a suspect" rather than a murder or homicide.
Y’all act like this shit real calm down y’all over thinking it lmao
That's what I thought at first when I watched this scene right here. They were pretty dumb right there, whoever wrote this episode, should have studied a little more.
Nothing after the gunshot was correct. Officers cannot declare someone dead, officer isnt a suspect immediately, they have to contain the scene
The gunshot itself wasn't correct either. The way he yanked the trigger, even with as close as it was, would've either grazed his shoulder or just gone way off to the side
STC Karma when i first saw the show on my recommended, i realy hoped it would be good, but after a couple clips i am pretty certain the rest is shit so i wont bother
@@stckarma6673 And the suspect pumped up with adrenalin going down from one hit? Sure thing writers...
Wrong get your facts straight
josh b no heart beat means there dead
This was an extremely poor representation of how police would handle this situation. They would not cancel the ambulance and pronounce the man dead. This is a terrible idea for both liability, and moral reasons. The second thing it's how the female officer treated him after she arrived and pronounced him dead. For the psychological well being of the officer involved, a statement like "you're the suspect" should never be used. He just had to defend his life in the performance of his duties, making him feel like a criminal for defending himself is downright irresponsible. Also I don't see how him explaining what happened would compromise the investigation. He could possibly incriminate himself, but a statement made to her would not compromise the fact that she had not witnessed the event.
Do you not understand that it’s a show
@@kayanrodrigues3566 well written shows are ones that make sense
I feel like a cop wouldn’t shoot one bullet that just doesn’t seem realistic to me
Kayan Rodrigues yes but a show is better if they are either factual or funny. Brooklyn 99 is obviously not factual, but is also funny, this seems like they try make everything sound correct but are horribly wrong
also oce the suspect had gone upstairs and the family was out of the house. an officer would not have gone up alone , he would have radioed new location, held position until back up arrived since he had the suspect in a locked down position. going in without knowing where the suspect was would only get you shot in the back
I love how they dont even bother editing out all the inner barrels and gas fill valves on the airsoft guns they use.
I was thinking that on the thumbnail lol
They use actual guns they’re just blanks
@@envysilence85 Maybe for some action shots, but theres so many blatant airsoft guns. Its pretty funny beacuase most of the time they dont even bother editing any of the stuff that gives them away out.
ok and
It's not important in this case tbh
What an extremely justified shooting. After reviewing the recording he should get a commendation for his effort.
Would it really be that expensive to hire a real cop to work with the writers? I really want to love this show but it's so hard to watch when its so damn stupid. Why is the female cop berating her partner and calling it a "homicide" when she sees the gun on the floor and didn't see what happened?
Yeah and it’s weird since this show is based on a real cop from LA that even has a production role in this. I guess he rarely visits the set or reads the script, maybe because of the Police job itself.
@@mihnealazar7039 It is common to give honorary production roles to people related to the content as a way to give them a paycheck for it. The real officer clearly doesn't proofread any script, but agreed to allow his story to be used in exchange for a small cut of the per episode funds.
@@mavoc3094 oh ok, thanks for the info!
i have all my knowledge from bodycam vids and even I know all of that is bullshit...
I guess its because the writers know the definition of Homicide which is the act of one human killing another. A requires only a volitional act by another person that results in death, and thus a may result from accidental, reckless, or negligent acts even if there is no intent to cause harm.
What do you think homicide is?
I don't mind using airsoft guns as props, especially gas blowback ones, but don't take closeups that give away that its a prop.
Shit it would still function without the inner barrel too, they could just have removed or cut down the inner so it wouldn't be as noticable.
Just use a simunition gun for close up shots like that.
Use the airsoft replica then cg the innerbarrel out so u don't have to alot of work like creating an realistic gun and then trying to replicate the light in the scene in the digital world
People have died with real guns "loaded with blanks". Look up the death of Bruce Lee. It's better for the actors and stuntmen not to have to take any such risk and possibly have any confusion on the set, and it's much cheaper for everyone to just use a "good enough" fake.
yeah I noticed that, they don't use blanks, only airsoft.
On the thumbnail you can clearly see the inner barrel of that airsoft gun
Much respect my G from Portmore, Jamaica.
Keep repping us proud and keep reeling out the skit animations they're funny asf
Damn suspect didn't call his hit.
Yoo Don! I didn't realize it was you! Love your vids man :)
Fuck it's a fake nevermind
Young Don The Sauce God I knew it was a bb pistol Glock 17 Gen 4 haha lmao
Holy hell, what the is the FPS on that bb gun?! That can't be airsoft field legal!
Lol, I had to replay to realize how recessed that barrel is
@@jimmonybillybob4358 that's not the issue. the issue is they didn't take the inner barrel out of the airsoft gun. the outer barrel is in the correct spot.
@@jimmonybillybob4358 look at the thumbnail lol the brass part is the inner barrel only found in airsoft guns (maybe actual airguns too idk never used one)
if you have a good pc: 100 FPS should do it. If you have less, you might want to turn the graphics down
For .3 grams projectiles, you probably need 30000 FPS to achieve that result
He's the suspect? He's got a literal camera on him and the guy turning around pulling a gun on him
Well I mean people are literally burning down cities over things similar to this.
@@nukiesduke6868 i know
Not even close to what it real is lol, he didn’t even put out radio traffic not once , he didn’t say his location/what address and what the suspect was doing, so
Yet his partner figures out where he is lol
STZii I mean I think she would see a family running out the house and hear gun shots
Tap X Radio Traffic is Key to Officer Safety, where you need you’re resources and what you have, who, what, & where , what’s the situation you’re partners are walking into, ECT..
It's feasible he called out some of that stuff while chasing offscreen?
@@alexlyster3459 no they showed Nolan all the time.
Yeah cause she wouldn't have followed him out the door and seen a terrified family outside
And I think you are forgetting something ITS A TV SHOW. Get a life.
I’m sorry, but that thumbnail makes it look like Nolan has to fart really bad.
For those who might comment on how Nolan was acting after the shot, that is pretty realistic. After one's first real tactical use of force event, whether military or law enforcement, you will be in some form of shock. Some things will remain clear while, others won't be. How bad one is in shock differs both on how severe the incident is and the psychology of the individual involved. In this scene, besides the supervisor, watch commander and investigators, I would hope that his department put the counselors on standby.
thanks for adding the source of this scene: something most uploaders don't add to the shorts.
I'm truly grateful, that at least someone has some decency
Pros: cop shows like this are always so entertaining
Cons: this show gets everything wrong and its extremely frustrating
I love how you can tell Nolan’s gun was an Airsoft
HOW YOU GONNA TELL ME BISHOP KNEW EXACTLY
1) WHAT HOUSE NOLAN WAS IN
2) WHICH WAY HE RAN TO BEGIN WITH
3) KNEW EXACTLY WHAT ROOM HE WAS IN
4) LITERALLY EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SCENE
I’m guessing the first 3 she made a guess
Gunshots are audible, family was standing outside, follow frightened pedestrians.
Out of all the idiotic mistakes in this, that is the least credible to cling to.
Which house is easy since the Asian family would have been waving to her once they saw her.
Time of death reported as 09:54
Bodycam going up the stairs is 11:37 (which is the same time as when they entered the convenience store)
10/10 Police work
The black officer is wrong. If you point a gun at law enforcement then they have lethal force no matter if Nolan is a suspect or not
She did not say he didn't have a right to defend himself. She was saying as per department policy and the law, the shooting has to be investigated to ensure it was a legitimate defensive homicide. As she said, it is a homicide. It's investigated like any other.
Andrew ^
Andrew True but, It’s still doesn’t make him a Suspect.💯
@@Sa.Savage3 It does, given that he is suspected of committing the homicide. It does not mean he's guilty of wrongdoing, it just means that it is now an investigation
@@boringperson-zb8vy The investigation also has multiple reasons. First, it establishes what happened and if it was a justifiable shooting by law, procedures, and regulations. The investigation is also a way to review the aforementioned regs and procedures. If an officer follows the rules and trained procedures, but they are what turn out to be wrong, it allows the department to make needed changes and improve training.
Love how it’s sad then happy music
The show is cool, but bloody hell the writer sucks, no police officer is the suspect straight away, they first need to investigate and all that. Also an officer can’t cancel an ambulance.
"no police officer is the suspect straight away"
You misspelled; 'ever.'
The way you spelled it implies that Police officers are accountable for their actions.
There was no pulse
Have you considered getting a life?
@@TB-dg3ng what they gonna do with the body arrest it and throw in the back of the cop car?
@@King-hl8bg I've been in EMS for a little bit now and learned a lot. So technically PD (police department) can cancel a priority 3 ALS or BLS call if they determine EMS is not needed and the PT (patient) is stable and fine. Some cities have PSO's which are trained in EMS so they carry BLS equipment and determine whether or not transport is needed, BUT on any priority 1 it cannot be canceled. Especially if the PT is deceased. It can be downgraded to a priority 2 but not canceled. Paramedics and EMT's technically cant call TOD (time of death). Medics have to call medical control and speak with a doctor. Where I work we MUST hook the PT up to the monitor and get a 12 lead to send it in to the doctor before they can give us the OK for TOD.
I love how she’s saying homicide he’s got a gun
where can I see the full serie? Lol I love it
Damn those 6mm BBs do some real damage
I believe the show would win big time if they hire real ex police officers as consultants. SEAL Team hired real Tier 1 operators as such and you just can see the difference.
To the people who keep calling out the inaccuracies of this show. First of all it's a show on tv second everyone who does a Google search automatically becomes an expert on any subject apparently. Just enjoy it for what it is
I mean the producers also could do a google search they didnt
If people did a google search, it's because it doesn't seem adjusted to reality, and broke the suspension of disbelief.
It's very poorly written, that's the problem.
The thumbnail thou,😂😂😂
you clearly can see double barrel in pistol airsoft xDD
Cops are trained to shoot at anyone if you point anything at them.
@@seancollins7447 Thats a good point... But hes talking about the cops gun. 1:35, thats a CO2 BB gun. They should have caught that in editing.
an inner barrel, you mean.
@@speedyretreat indeed i was talking about the cop gun. the suspect gun was looking more realistic could be GBB doesnt have to be CO2 :D
Wow, you go girl
I love the acting moments in this scene.
Not in love with the portrayal of how the scene is handled.
i cant stop watching these tf
Everyone talking about the air soft gun, and no one is talking about the fierce eyeliner!!
Ngl...that slow motion shot was sick.
oh look, an airsoft gun..
well they're not gonna use real ones
bamapounds until you are dead on the ground
Different films etc use different ways for firearm effects. Some use blanks, some use real guns with CGI effects, and it seems in this case they went for a gas blowback BB gun, which i pretty smart since it has the recoil of a gun and all you need is just add the actual gunfire effect
@@bossMan-vu9hl no but for closeups Down the barrels they are
A simunition gun wouldve been the best. It's a real firearm other than the fact that the barrel is off in diameter just enough to not accept any real rounds. It fires fake rounds and has good recoil. It's a great alternative to paintball tbh.
Man that family must be so freaked out. Some dude runs into their house and threatens them with a gun.
Bro their acting skills r so realistic and good that when I first saw this show I thought it was real😂
1:35 no hand Nolan 😂
Today I learned that the dispatcher calls the time of death. My bad, I thought the cornier did that lol
Nolan airsofts a suspect. I can see the inner barrel on the thumbnail alone.
Lmao
The Harlequin "Nolan full autos a suspect" 😂
Still really good muzzle flash effects. Must have watched corridor digital.
They probably use “blank guns”
@@uk6240 blank firing guns don't need an internal brass barrel with a smooth bore inside an outer barrel. They usually convert existing firearms barrel and all to blank firing, convert it to blank firing and change out the barrel for one without rifling or as is the case here they use airsoft guns that cycle the same way their live firing counter part does using c02 cartridges or some other type of propellant gas. They do make guns specifically for film use called flashpaper guns, like the zoraki for example, but they often don't look very realistic and though they have a muzzle flash, they don't have blowback that cycles the slide of the weapon to simulate recoil.
she said *Woop 🤣😂🤣😂* hes probably like oww mehh leg"
0:44 was hilarious lmao
I love the fact that you can see the fact it’s a BB gun Nolan has
How?
Kash0ut caden vlogs look down the barrel
SingleTrackRider yeah you’re wrong. Don’t insult The Rookie.
Thats fine
You can’t declare someone deceased as a peace officer… it’s suspect not conscious, not breathing. The Rookie needs better police consults.
When you realize the house they enter is the house from The Fosters
So many things that are wrong, that even i got nervous there... xD
I would love to see the full BodyCam footage for this even if it doesn’t have all the effects in it lol
It’s always Nolan doing foot chases
This scene definitely had to be ATLEAST influenced by the vid of a Canadian cop trying to arrest two methheads where the one crawls into the stores roof and falls thru it etc XD
Officer Nolan could have opened fire on the suspect when he was running for having a gun in his hand. Supreme Court ruled officer can fire if suspect is a threat to the public
Yeah if there’s people in view or he’s running towards them.. but when he basically had a hostage should’ve put him down when he ran upstairs
I dont known of LAPD know this but on the radio there is a orange button know as the panic button so you dony have to hold down the talk key
Gj officer nolan for not letting the kids see
Pretty realistic 1-2 switch trailer at the end
Cops don't pronounce, they call EMS regardless.
Well, unless the head has been removed, or the heart, or...
Where can I watch this?
Um, no he isnt a suspect. Theres clearly a gun on the floor next to the suspect who you know ran. Yes there's going to be an investigation but he isnt a suspect of murder. I like this show but damn clean the writing up and please use blank firing guns for close ups and save airsoft guns for far away shots.
Lmao u can see were the orange tip used to be at 1:35
In a real world situation you definitely have yourself and anyone under your command under investigation with that logic.
Have you considered getting a life... and at no point did anyone say he was a murder suspect you idiot.
@@bfg3890 watched the full episode yes dumbass, he was considered a murder suspect, it wasnt realistic but they did say that, so dont bash a innocent comment next time u goofy kid.
@@Sa.Savage3 nope, airsoft pistols have threaded barrels, not necessarily meant for orange tips.
Pretty sure cops don’t declare time of death , pretty sure only paramedics do that?
I was like why does it sound so weird? And then I just remembered I have The Speed on 0.75
Welcome to this week's episode of UA-cam repeats the same exact comment over and over again.
I heard the cashier said don’t you move
You still have to call EMS if they're dead....that's not up to the LEO to decide
This was such an intense and well shot scene.
Queen of deleting kneecaps
From Joey to Johnny to captain of the serenity to Castle to Nolan
Don't forget Caleb (i think that was his name) from when he was a villain on Buffy (season 6 or 7).
The most unrealistic part was when she flew in on a surfboard
1:41 realizing that you have more paperwork to file.
the face 🤣🤣🤣🤣
awe they didnt even show all of it
Nolan just did his ODST and SPARTAN Training...
...ooops...did I say that out loud?
My god reading these comments make me mad sometimes, all these damn cop situational professionals. The rookie is a Drama/Action series not a exact police simulation.
Sad thing is none of them will have actually been cops
The radio mic needs to be on the body
Not all departments do that. LAPD for instance.
They even made the close-up on the air soft gun the thumbnail
The strange part is, if you stop the clip, at 1:35 and look too the barrel of the gun... doesent that really remind you of a airsoft or a bb-gun.. the real ones does not have that.. "extra" pipe but a airsoft does.
what we going with a WE tech or TM ?
Let me add one more mistake: officers are trained to fire until the threat is neutralized. A single gunshot may make for dramatic TV, but that's not how it would happen in real life.
Thanks youtube recommendations?
That’s the gun from call of duty 😳😂
man honeslty there is probably nothing i would do different in this situation other then maybe call for backup before going upstairs
This show reminds me of southland the TV show
People seem to forget that this is a fictional tv show and not a documentary on police protocol
Nolan acted in self defense it was an officer-involved shooting
I just saw this episode
1:08 That kid looks like someone at my school looks familiar.
That Thumbnail tho
hey is the police officer using a air soft gun you can see the inner barrel lol
Song?
There’s so many things wrong with the whole show let alone this episode
He could've just shot the guy who was running in the back, since he's clearly armed and a threat to others.
Bad move for the director to show Nolan's gun close up, you can see the inner brass barrel for airsoft.
Anyone realize that the Store in this episode and in Rookie Blue look the exact fucking same?
So they go from montebello to west La by running out of liquor store...... lol
Its funny how they decided to not edit the Airsoft features of the guns like the inner barrels and stuff.
I don't see the problem, officer Nolan has a functional and active bodycam so he has the video to defend his action against the suspect.
Was I the only one that thought John’s first name was Nolan until he met Bailey
His mind went into full tilt boogy its like fuge state of shock where your motor functions temporarily shut down and confusion ensures afterva dramatic occurrence it lasts for only a few seconds
WHY DO THEY HOLD THEIR RADIO IN THEIR HAND 💀
When the officer enters the mansion after the suspect it’s very poorly represented because an officer would get the people out of the house and for his safety he would not go in alone he would call in a 906 (additional unit) and enter from there or call in a barricaded suspect but this all depends on county my county would do the first one just enter with a 906.
Officer Grey told him that if he was in Nolan's place he'll do the same thing Nolan did
Why was there a cocking sound when the suspect swung the gun with one hand ?
Mans about to be on donut Leo recap for one tapping a scumbag.
Wow hes good at a cop and when he was in castle
This is not how a real officer involved shooting would be handled
