    // ABOUT ME
    I am a smiling, loving and cheerful person who loves music and animals above everything. Even though I study civil engineering, my true passion lies in an animal kingdom, more accurate with ferrets. I have a ferret for 4 years, but I am learning and exploring those astonishing creatures for 6 or more years. I created my Friendly ferret blog 3 years ago because I wanted to show to the world that ferrets are really good pets. Today, I have more goals:
    1. Make ferrets even more popular
    2. Encourage and educate people who want ferrets to buy or adopt older ferrets
    3. Design and create products for ferrets and their owners

    My dominant ferret was the same way. She kept on chasing and hissing at the new ferret. While the new one wanted to explore. It was funny how my dominant ferret would hiss every time the other ferret wanted to play with the toys I put out for them.
    I have three so I had to introduce a new ferret twice. And it always takes a few days of chasing and hissing. But they're besties now.
    Good luck to you and your ferrets!

    This is actually totally normal when introducing a new ferret to an existing ferret(s). I have 5 ferrets and with each new member came an initiation period as I like to call it. Out of my 5 I have 1 that is the dominant ferret. For the first week or so she would chase around the newbie, and pin them to the ground. This usually lasted for about a week before my dominant Ferret would accept the newcomer. I let them go through this and don’t intervene unless there’s pee/poop or blood. There usually is a lot of hissing and screeching though. But ferrets literally have tough skin and can handle the tussle. Great video though! It’s good to show this behavior to new ferret owners thinking about expanding their ferret business!

    I watched your video before purchasing a third ferret to add to my pair. I have 2 girls and found a Sable mitt male that I immediately clicked with and I had to have him. I was a little nervous but I let him roam the house a little first to get his scent around and then brought him and my calmer girl into a room together. They barely paid attention to each other so I brought in the other one. They finally interacted and it was great! Almost no biting, a little wrestling, they ran around together for a while and after a couple hours I heard nothing. I looked around and they were all asleep together under my couch. Thanks for making this!

    Adorable! I work in a small pet shop- I find myself bringing home a new addition ferret too often... they’re super easy to introduce as we get them and raise them as babies ( well once they’re weaned ) and they’re used to growing up around other ferrets. You can practically just sit them in the cage and be done and they’ll cuddle. I have an albino, cinnamon, and a normal sable right now. Looking to get a white marked one or panda! And a black aswell. Love em. I just can’t help myself when we get new ones in, they come in so tiny and I want them all, they fit in your palm, I always have to remind myself hey they’ll grow. We handle them multiple times daily and tame them and get them super used to it from baby stage so we’re definitely no petco and I take pride in that when people buy ferrets ha. They’ll say “ wow they’re so tame! “ love it.

    Wow this went great! It took a few weeks to get ours to get along, and at least a month maybe a little longer to get ours sleeping in the same cage, every introduction is different but it's nice to see how well this one went! Thanks for the video!

    They did well! Wiggles is mellow around other ferrets, but Cali just screams if another ferret gets near her. I hope Frida and Yoda start to become good friends like my Cali and Wiggles

    If your ferrets don't get along you can force the binding by bathing them together. That's what I had to do and now they're the best of buddies. My Snitch was a stray and quite the bitter and now he's the most tame. He's a cross between a champagne and albino.

    I have a ferret and he's 7 months old, now I'm trying to introduce a female but she's 1 month old, its being a little hard, all he wants its play with her but she just try to bit him and hidden herself.
    I'm searching for ways to make them friends, cause I have just one room for them, and I don't wanna keep them in the cage...

    So i introduced my two male gibs Vader and Gwin to meet 2 new rescue female sprites. I didn't use this but i just let them out to play while they didnt quarrel or attack each other. But i stuck them in the same cage before i headed off to work. And i came back to them cuddling but im pretty sure they are from the same litter. They get out and run around for 4 hours and they play together just fine....

    Hey I know this is an old video, but we just got two new ferrets and Arthur, the one we had before, can only smell them for now (we're trying to introduce them slowly through smell first). But Arthur is still very stressed and even a bit depressed about it, so I'm unsure what to do. The two new ones don't care much. They are curious though, but they don't seem stressed anymore about being in a new house.
    Arthur has lived with one other ferret before, but she passed away about 3 months ago. So if you ever see this and have advice, I would really need it!!

    I got a new ferret (roks, 2 1/2 months) and i have my other (pebbles, 6-7 months) the new one is running around exploring while pebbles is chasing and hissing at him but there are no signs of fur sticking up. She does sometimes dok while hissing. Does this mean she wants to play? Or is it a bad sign?

    someone helppp. i have a rather wild ferret and we've had her for while, shes the jump around like crazy type. and we just got two males from a rescue to keep her company because she recently lost her brother. The larger boy is 100%chill with her but the small boy and her keep wrestling, i dont know the difference between playing and fighting... should i put her in with both or one at a time? we only have a playpen because we have doggos

    • @FriendlyFerretChannel
      @FriendlyFerretChannel  7 років тому

      Duckily ART wrestling and fighting can seem very similar, just make sure they arent biting eachother to the blood. if there arent any poop, blood or bad smell, they are OK. also, keep an eye on them for few days just to make sure they are getting along

    • @duckilyart7429
      @duckilyart7429 7 років тому

      Friendly Ferret i tried and she wound up trying to run away and jump out of the playpen. the thing is shes larger than the boy by quite a bit so i thought shed go after him but she was running away. how can i stop them from fighting?

    It'll be OK it went good it's just Frida letting Yoda know she boss and teaching him ferret etiquette. There will be poop and bushing. It's great that you let the work it out .As Long as there's no blood everything fine. Before you know they'll be cuddled in the same cage BFFs. Frida will however always show him she is boss Yoda doesn't seem to care and that great. My Crystal is the same way as Frida she let the boys know she is in charge. I think most ,but not always, girl ferrets are bossy.I guess it's a girl thing😂 I'm so impressed with the knowledge and care you give your ferrets. Especially since you don't have anyone around you that has ferrets or knowledge of them. How's it going with Frida eating chicken? Yoda is obviously a champ at it.BTW I love your door☺

    Here's a suggestion from someone that has had ferrets as pets for 25 years.
    You should introduce the ferrets to each other on neutral ground; a place unfamiliar to both ferrets. This prevents the problem of territorial defense. ONce they are familiar with each other, then bring them home. And to start, make sure both have separate food and water bowls, and separate beds.

    • @FriendlyFerretChannel
      @FriendlyFerretChannel  6 років тому +1

      Those are great tips. Unfortunately I didn't have neutral ground at that point, outside was too hot, but they were each in separated rooms a week before I introduced them and they did have their own bowls. I had them in separated cages for months after the introduction during night but when they were out of the cages, they were together.

    I have a female ferret just over a year old and she’s never had any brothers or sisters.. she’s been out of her cage a lot but never had any contact with other animals, until Recently my family got a little chihuahua but my Twinkie didn’t seem to like the puppy very much.. would she still be okay if I introduced a new ferret to her?

    • @FriendlyFerretChannel
      @FriendlyFerretChannel  6 років тому +1

      Nyan Cat she would probably be better with ferrets but you have to keep in mind that she isn't used to animals around her. Frida was alone for 4 years and she doesn't like dogs, but she is great with Yoda :)

    That’s not a good cage you need a bigger cage they don’t like it and it’s not appropriate for them just to let you know
