I'm not a fan of gasket sealer, especially if there was none on the gasket to begin with, it tends to squeeze out on sides and if little bits break off they can easily clog an oil gallery. Rather just fit a new gasket. 18:03, thanks for the "9mm" tip ("the little square guy" is a 3mm).
Thanks I agree 100% the way you did the job. Like you said it's not rocket science -+ .0015" is not going to make a diff. on valve adjustment, like that you reuse the VC too.
So without using the TDC marks the valves are ready to adjust when there's equal play in the engine rotation both ways once compression is felt. I've done valves before on 4 pots and a single, there's definitely a feel. What's your take on that? Honda PCX 125 gen 5 model owner approaching 5k miles (the bike, not me lol) Always sounded a bit tappy.
i guess that method would work but ive never tried. Ive always just used marks on the flywheel, and for engines where thats not possible like pcx i look at cam and valves + stick a pencil in spark plug hole to find tdc
Thank you for the video man. What wrench did you use to get the 10mm bottom right side valve cover bolt?? I can't reach it with any wrench or extender i have
@@alexsbikesandmotors thanks bro i found a rotating ratchet i could reach it with. I got a red 2013 as well about to pass 35k miles and my idle is too low and will sometimes die. Valves haven't been checked in over 20k miles so i'm going to do that. I'm thinking my fuel injector couldve been damaged because water had got in my gas tank recently causing more problems so i may try that if the adjustment doesn't work
@@alexsbikesandmotors Theres no check engine light on. I torqued down the spark plug now it hasnt happened again yet. The only thing i'm worried about doing the valve adjustment is the exhaust valve. I'm afraid i wouldnt be able to reach it with the needle nose pliers while screwing in. How did you fit 2 hands in there?
@@jimmybluetron5227 i actually dont hold the adjuster with anything. I just set the clearance a little bit too loose, then tighten the lock nut, then check the clearance again with the feeler gauge to make sure its at the correct spec with the lock nut tight. It's kind of a trial and error thing.
Going to be cursing yourself in a couple thousand miles when you have to scrape all that gasket sealer off for the next job haha. I know those gaskets arent cheap, been there. I have been thinking about getting a PCX for a while, seems like a super convenient bike to own and use. Does it ever give you trouble after sitting for a few months or longer periods of time? My ruckus cant sit for more than a month without pitching a fit and thats even with non-ethanol fuel.
Why would i be removing the valve cover in a couple thousand miles? My pcx has never sat more than maybe 3 or 4 days so i cant answer your question but it always starts immediately.

i have the new model 2022 - 2023 and I've done 14k miles and I have to say its a beast of a scooter

What is the intake and exhaust valve gap of the 2023 PCX?
i think same but 4 valves and very deep inside. very hard adjustment

I used my crescent 10mm ring end wrench with the angled head from the set i showed at the beginning.

The cracked plastic/acrylics can be repaired with a soldering iron from the backside using a ziptie as solder. Youre welcome.

My little glr (cbf) starts first touch of the button wether it’s sat for a week or a year. Same with my old fireblade. Honda baby 👌🏼
